The Biggest Loser: Everyone on Team Black was appalled that Jackie got ejected last week - Mark and Jay went back on their word! The fiends! Yes, they should have just been up-front about what they were planning. But the amount of self-righteous anger oozing off Team Black was over the top. -- Zap2It

The Biggest Loser Season Six: On the Way!

loser_winner_narrowweb__300x4660.jpg NBC has announced an upcoming sixth season for The Biggest Loser, one that will follow the same "couples" format as the show's currently-airing fifth installment.

"The current Couples season of The Biggest Loser has been one of the best and most compelling so far in this important franchise," said NBC executive Craig Plestis.  "We look forward to continuing to inspire and entertain viewers with more remarkable and life-changing weight loss stories."

The show's sixth-season, 13-city casting tour will begin on February 16 with stops in Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, New York City, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Miami, Columbus, Suffolk, Las Vegas, Mesa and Los Angeles - all of which producers have described as America's "fattest cities."

"It has been so satisfying to watch this franchise continue to grow," said executive producer JD Roth, "and Season 6 will be another opportunity to tell powerful, transformative stories of Americans getting their lives back in a healthy, positive way."

Alison Sweeney (from Days of Our Lives) will reprise her role as The Biggest Loser's host for the show's sixth installment, which will also include trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.

Bill Germanakos Gushes About The Biggest Loser Win

Bill Germanakos PhotoBill Germanakos looks like a new man.

After shedding over 160 pounds to win the latest season of The Biggest Loser, he chatted with BuddyTV about the experience:

Is this something you could have ever even imagined?
It's a whirlwind like I never even could have thought of. Being pulled from the stage after doing the finale of one of my favorite shows, and winning it, knowing that my wife and kids were there, all my best friends were there, then being whisked away to a limousine, getting VIP treatment at the airport, just making the plane by a minute and a half, then six hours later you're speaking with Ann Curry on The Today Show.

You can imagine that it's like a whirlwind.

Do you have anything that you want to say to your fans?
Number one, I have to tell everyone, from all of the support that I was receiving from all over the country, and all of these forums, how appreciative that I've been to be getting so much support from everyone. It really drove me when things got difficult, to hear about and to read about all of the people that were cheering me on and rooting for me.

Especially after my brother got eliminated, everyone said "Now you have to do it for Jim, you have to do it for the twins." Believe me, I saw and heard every bit of it, and it really drove me and motivated me, so thank you to everyone.

Bill Germanakos Wins The Biggest Loser

Bill Germanakos was named the winner of The Biggest Loser last night.

He became the fourth-season champion by staring the competition at 334 pounds - and then shedding 164 of them, good for a 49.10% weight-loss percentage. As a result, he claimed the show's $250,000 grand prize

"Thank you so much!" said Bill after being the last fourth-season finalist to weigh-in during the finale. He was quickly mobbed on-stage by his family. "This is what I did it for... These guys right here."

The Biggest Loser Season Five Premiere Date Announced

biggestloser.jpg NBC has announced fifth edition of The Biggest Loser will premiere with a two-hour episode on Tuesday, January 1, just two weeks after the finale broadcast of its currently-airing fourth installment.

NBC's decision to debut The Biggest Loser 5 as primetime midseason programming represents the first time the network has aired two regular The Biggest Loser editions in the same television season.  This is most likely to due to the ongoing writers' strike.

Also for the first time in the show's history, The Biggest Loser's fifth-season contestants will compete while paired in teams with somebody they have a pre-existing relationship with (such as a family member, friend or coworker).

Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels will both return for the show's fifth edition; however Kim Lyons-- who replaced Michaels as the Red Team's trainer prior to the show's third season - will not.
