Reality TV Recaps: The Biggest Loser, Big Brother

It was a huge night of reality TV. American Idol contestants sang Dolly Parton; Steve Guttenberg got voted off Dancing with the Stars; and the following pair of shows aired:

The Biggest Loser: The contestants were in for a big surprise at the beginning of tonight's episode. Allison keeps them in the boardroom to tell them all that they are going to be making a trip to Sydney, Australia... -- Reality TV Magazine

Big Brother: After Sheila gave James an inspirational pep talk (which made no sense to me at all), she then doubled back and gave Joshuah a very similar speech while also trashing James... -- TV Guide

Amy Hildreth and Marty Wolff: Just Married!

Amy Hildreth and Marty Wolff - former Biggest Loser contestants - made their reality TV romance official Saturday night, getting hitched in Charleston, S.C., in a small ceremony in front of less than 20 of their family and friends.

"We're private even though we like to go on reality shows," Hildreth joked to People Magazine.

This summer, the newlyweds plan to have a party for the rest of their loved ones, including their Biggest Loser season three pals. The show trainers will score invites too, says Wolff, "but I don't know if they'll want to come to Omaha, Nebraska!"

The pair, who've maintained most of its weight loss from the show, call the wedding a definite "cheat day," where both Amy and Marty allowed themselves mini-pizza appetizers and a cupcake tower for dessert.

Said the bride: "They're just so much more fun than a boring old wedding cake!"

Reality TV Recaps: America's Next Top Model, The Biggest Loser, Big Brother

While American Idol captured the attention of most households, here's a recap of three other reality TV shows from last night:

America's Next Top Model: Since America's Next Top Model is back in New York this season, the models all meet up in a Soho cafe, where Amis tells everyone she's changed her name because of the other Aimee on the show this season, and claims that the name Amis is in the Bible. -- San Francisco Chronicle

The Biggest Loser: Jay's "head's still kinda foggy," after the loss of his brother Mark. "There really is no justice when it comes to the scale," he cries. In fact, the whole Blue Team seems kinda foggy when trainer Bob pays them a visit. -- Reality TV Magazine

Big Brother: We know that Joshuah was really upset about the lesbian lie thing with Allison. While Sheila was a part of it, she seems to be exonerated and it's all about Allison as far as Joshuah is concerned. But during the recap moments we found out that the other reason Joshuah is ticked at her is due to the vote change last week. -- TV Squad

Reality TV Recaps: The Biggest Loser

While America is still buzzing over the performance of David Archuleta on American Idol last night, here's the recap of a reality show you may have missed:

The Biggest Loser: With ex-hubby Paul gone, Kelly is feeling uneasy and sad. "I feel very vulnerable," she complains. "I guess I don't like being alone." But Kelly's really the only one bemoaning Paul's absence. Brittany says she feels like Team Black will be stronger without him, while Team Blue is too busy gloating to even really notice that he's gone. -- Reality TV Magazine

Big Brother 9: It's another night in the Big Brother 9 house and the house is full of people in various states of unhappiness and discontent. Most prominently, Parker was extremely upset with Jen's antics so he decided to list out the "three steps of destruction by Jen." -- TV Squad

The Biggest Loser: On last night's episode of The Biggest Loser, Alison Sweeney shocked the contestants when she sent them home for a week. It sounds like a good deal except that back home, their friends and family aren't on a diet. -- Buddy TV

We got to know the new house guests on Big Brother 9's season premiere last night, while the folks on The Biggest Loser continued their weight-dropping ways.

The Biggest Loser: Everyone on Team Black was appalled that Jackie got ejected last week - Mark and Jay went back on their word! The fiends! Yes, they should have just been up-front about what they were planning. But the amount of self-righteous anger oozing off Team Black was over the top. -- Zap2It

The Biggest Loser Season Six: On the Way!

loser_winner_narrowweb__300x4660.jpg NBC has announced an upcoming sixth season for The Biggest Loser, one that will follow the same "couples" format as the show's currently-airing fifth installment.

"The current Couples season of The Biggest Loser has been one of the best and most compelling so far in this important franchise," said NBC executive Craig Plestis.  "We look forward to continuing to inspire and entertain viewers with more remarkable and life-changing weight loss stories."

The show's sixth-season, 13-city casting tour will begin on February 16 with stops in Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, New York City, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Miami, Columbus, Suffolk, Las Vegas, Mesa and Los Angeles - all of which producers have described as America's "fattest cities."

"It has been so satisfying to watch this franchise continue to grow," said executive producer JD Roth, "and Season 6 will be another opportunity to tell powerful, transformative stories of Americans getting their lives back in a healthy, positive way."

Alison Sweeney (from Days of Our Lives) will reprise her role as The Biggest Loser's host for the show's sixth installment, which will also include trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.

Nevertheless, here's what transpired on The Biggest Loser and the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency...

The Biggest Loser: A somber Black Team greets us this week, reflecting on their devastating loss at last week's weigh-in... The teams gather in the gym and are greeted by Alison Sweeney (of Days of Our Lives) and a row of mysterious-looking booths... -- Reality TV Magazine
