Reality TV Recaps: Big Brother, That's Amore, Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant

One longtime reality TV show continued to spiral into the gutter last night, while the latest dating competition premiered. Oh, and Scott Baio continued to milk publicity from his daughter being born. On to the recaps!

Big Brother 9: The episode begins by flashing back to Alex and Amanda's eviction. We don't understand why people get sad after evictions. We know you're in this hyper-emotional, summer camp kind of thing, but just sign some yearbooks and get the hell out. -- TVGasm

That's Amore: The intro is overly Italian, and immediately we're certain this is a parody of reality dating shows. The girls roll up in an Italian flag limo wearing bikinis. Sadly, I believe most of these girls are actually here for Domenico Nesci because they find him precious. -- Buddy TV

So Seductive

Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant: The episode started off with Scott trying to get Bailey's onesie on. It was not the easiest thing he'd ever done and he was trying to do it with a severe lack of sleep, but it was better than the next step in Scott's day: filling out his wedding registry with Renee and the wedding planner. - Zap2It

Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant... and Sworn to Secrecy

Scott Baio appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday night.

But the reality TV star was unable to divulge the name of his two-and-a-half-month-old daughter with Renee Sloan. The reason?

"I legally can't tell you because of the show. Seriously I can't. They want to be the ones to tell what the name is," said Baio. "Believe me, I went through this with VH1 and it's a whole contractual thing that I didn't know about."

Baio followers will have to wait until the VH1 reality series' second season - dubbed Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant - premieres Sunday, January 13 at 10PM ET/PT to learn what his daughter's first name is.

If that doesn't get you to tune in, what will?!?

Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant Set to Premiere

Scott Baio PictureWhen the entire basis for a show is shot down, perhaps it's time to cancel said program.

Last year, Scott Baio is 45... and Single was a big hit on VH1.

But now that the former child star has married Renee Sloan - and had a kid with her! - it just seems like a second season isn't appropriate.

Nevertheless, VH1 has announced that Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant will premiere on Sunday, January 13.

Scott Baio is 45... And Single's first-season finale ended with the commitment-phobic Baio completing his two-month relationship counseling program with life coach Dr. Alison "Doc Ali" Arnold and taking the plunge by popping the question to Sloan.

The couple's new daughter was born November 2, reportedly weighing 5-pounds, 10-ounces. While the newborn baby girl is the couple's first child together, Sloan also has an 18-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Baio and Sloan wed earlier this month in a rooftop wedding ceremony at a Los Angeles luxury high-rise, as VH1 camera crews present to film the nuptials for Scott Baio is 46... and Pregnant.

Additional second-season episodes will follow Baio preparing for marriage, fatherhood and instantly becoming a father to an 18-year old stepdaughter.

An Interview with Scott Baio

Starring in a new reality show, Scott Baio is 45... and Single, is, well, Scott Baio.

Us Magazine recently interviewed the former childhood star:

Usmagazine.com: Tell us what it's like to have a new generation of fans.
Scott Baio: I haven't even thought about that, to be perfectly honest. I'm just glad to be doing something that I like doing as opposed to doing something that I don't like doing, which I've done before [laughs].

Scott BaioUs: On the series, you allow a life coach to chart your path to love. What types of things did she suggest to help you find out if your girlfriend is the woman of your dreams?
SB: She tells me to refrain from seeing her â€" and be celibate - for eight weeks. And revisit women from my past to find out what I've done wrong so I can go forward in life. My friends are in the middle of all this trying to pull me every which way so [the show is] very much more a romantic comedy than it is a reality show.

Us: Why do you think so many Hollywood marriages fail?
SB: From an actor's point of view, it's very difficult to date an actress. Inevitably it becomes an ego contest, it becomes ‘who's she on the set making out with?' and ‘who's she going to fall in love with in Bulgaria making a movie?' It all seems fairy tale-ish and very romantic, but it's tough. There's just too many elements pulling you apart.

Us: So is it safe to say your current lady, Renee Sloan, is not in the entertainment industry?
SB: She was actually a stunt woman in her younger days. She's a tough chickâ€"you have no idea. And - I mean this in a nice way - one of the simplest, non-egoed women I've ever met. And the only woman who has not tried to change me.
