Reality TV Recaps: Survivor, Big Brother

Fans were treated to a special edition of Survivor: Fans vs. Favorites last night. Not only did it air on a Wednesday night (due to the NCAA Tournament taking over CBS tonight, but a contestant quit! Check out the recap for that show and for Big Brother right now...

Survivor: Day 18 arrived with 13 players remaining. Over at Malakal, Tracy wanted to kill and eat some of the chickens since she didn't think they were laying as many eggs as they used to.. -- Reality TV Magazine

Big Brother: As always with a Wednesday episode, the good part (if you can call it that) begins after the veto ceremony. One week ago, Matt celebrated his non-backdooring a little much. This week, he's definitely not celebrating. Neither is Natalie, who calls James a hypocrite whose word is worthless, while in the diary room... -- Reality News Online

Reality TV Recap: Flavor of Love

While we provided readers with in-depth episode guides for last night's premieres of Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor, you can't expect the same from us for Flavor of Love. There's only so much smut we can stand.

Here's a look at what went down, however, on last night's Flavor of Love: Myammee, clad in just a bikini, pays Flavor Flav a late night visit. He needs her to wait a second so he can drop the kids off at the pool and overdose the room with air freshener. We're no doctors, but we think he has IBS. -- Buddy TV

Reality TV Recaps: Rock of Love, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, That's Amore

On a skank-filled evening of reality TV, here's a look at what went down on a trio of shows...

Rock of Love: We're treated to Kristy Joe Muller calling her second - and current - husband. Whom she may or may not have a restraining order against. She obliquely tells him that "a lot of stuff we went through has started surfacing." Because no one can comprehend Kristy Joe, he asks her what that is supposed to mean. -- Zap2It

Keeping Up with the Kardashians: We open up this week with the older sisters and mom gathered around, and Kim's got an announcement: she was the number one Google search last week! Hooray! -- TVgasm

That's Amore: While the other girls are at breakfast, Talor sneaks into Domenico Nesci's bed for some private cuddling. The girls get their pizza deliver and they are informed about yet another food-themed challenge, this one involving live chickens that Ashley McNeely is tending to. -- Buddy TV

Reality TV Recaps: Survivor: Micronesia, Celebrity Apprentice

Thursday nights have always been a big night for reality TV. This season is no different, with two classics airing. Let's see what went down on Survivor and The Celebrity Apprentice...

Survivor: Micronesia: Lucky for Eliza, the favorites, divided as they are, certainly work well together during challenges. They won both reward and immunity and in the process earned three hens, one rooster and chicken feed. -- TV Guide

Celebrity Apprentice: Piers is beside himself, happy to see Omarosa gone. "It was like pitting a little rat against a very large dragon," he says, cheering with his arms in the air. "I think her 15 minutes has just ended." -- Reality TV Magazine

Reality TV Recap: Top Chef

Because it's new season, based in Chicago, premiered last night, Top Chef is getting its own recap page. Read on to see what went down between hopeful cooks...

Top Chef: We get a few glimpses into the chef's backgrounds: Ryan comments that he started cooking in his dad's kitchen when he was 11 and two other chefs were fired because he "outcooked" them at 11 years old. Zoi notes that she brings a softer side to the competition.

New Zealander Mark says he came to the States with only $200 and a backpack, and wants to use the winnings to start a restaurant. -- Buddy TV

Reality TV Recaps: America's Next Top Model, Big Brother

A pair of reality TV staples aired last night. For those that were glued to the American Idol results show, here's what went down on Big Brother and America's Next Top Model...

America's Next Top Model: We start out the night with early confessionals from Dominique, who is overconfident despite her bottom two performance, and from Lauren who is underconfident despite her being called first by the panel. Irony and contrast noted. -- Reality News Online

Big Brother: Day 35 arrived with eviction looming.  After James was nominated to replace Chelsia (who removed herself from the chopping block) "all hell broke loose," host Julie Chen said.  It certainly didn't seem that way based on the montage that followed. -- Reality TV Magazine

Nick Lachey Returns to Reality TV

nick_lachey_240x320.jpg Nick Lachey is coming back home to reality TV.

The former Newlyweds star is executive producing a pilot for an MTV series, which the network describes as a version of the '80s movie and TV show Fame, according to The Hollwood Reporter.

The program will focus on students at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Lachey's alma mater. (Sarah Jessica Parker and Carmen Electra are also famous former students.)

"The stories and relationships are all set to music that's organic to what's going on in the school and also performed by the kids," Tony DiSanto, executive VP of series development and programming at the network, said. "This is a genre-busting, creative experiment that I'm really excited about."

As an example DiSanto said a scene could feature kids breaking into dance in the cafeteria, which sounds a lot like a real-life High School Musical, or the soundtrack could come from a scene in which a student is practicing his or her instrument.

Does this sound like a good idea?

Rock the Cradle to Feature Offspring of Singers

In a new reality show, MTV wants to find the next great singer. But it doesn't wanna try too hard to do so.

That's why Rock the Cradle, which premieres April 3, will feature the children of musical icons such as Bobby Brown, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, M.C. Hammer and Olivia Newton John.

brown_walsh_320x240.jpg The show will air live weekly and will have the contestants battle it out in singing competitions to be judged by a mix of celebrities and influential people in the industry.

Here's a full list of the contestants vying for the top spot on Rock the Cradle:

• Jesse Money, daughter of Eddie Money
• Jesse Blaze Snider, son of Dee Snider
• Lara Johnston, daughter of Tom Johnston of the Doobie Brothers
• A'keiba Burrell-Hammer, M.C. Hammer's daughter
• Landon Brown, son of Bobby Brown
• Lil Al B Sure, R&B singer Al B Sure's son
• Crosby Loggins, Kenny Loggin's son
• Chloe Rose Lattanzi, Olivia Newton John's daughter
• Lucy Walsh, pictured, daughter of the Eagles‘ Joe Walsh

"I was interested in this show because of the mass exposure available with a television spot," says Lucy Walsh. "I'm just not going to pass that up. I mean come on, the girls who are winning American Idol go on to win Grammys!"

Reality TV Recaps: Make Me A Supermodel, Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, Flavor of Love

There were certainly a trio of eclectic shows from which viewers could choose their reality TV last night. From models to skanks, let's recap them below...

Make Me A Supermodel: The models wake up to a cruel, cruel reality. It's possible that one of Perry's henchmen will be leaving. But no one's counting their chickens before they pose, in light of Ben's outburst(s) last week. Holly tells Shannon that she'll be so happy if Beautiful Frankie or Casey leave, meaning Perry will have one fewer audience member in his personal laugh track. -- TVGasm

2008-03-06-18.jpg

Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious: This week's oddly avant garde PCD video message is about Style. When Robin addresses them, she says that while it's important to be part of a group, they should also stand out on their own. The girls are broken up into 3 Disco-themed groups.  -- Zap2It

Flavor of Love: Sinceer, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are still hating on Bee-Ex for being on Fear Factor. The next morning they get their challenge, which is to dress up in a costume and write a bedtime story about it. And you thought the Brothers Grimm were gruesome. -- Buddy TV
