Amanda Salinas Gets Served by Mark Philippoussis!

Sorry, Age of Love fans: the relationship between star Mark Philippoussis and his lady of choice, Amanda Salinas, appears to be over.

If we were to use witty tennis puns, we'd say it did not end in love-love. Or that Philippoussis is 1-1 on break (up) point. But anyway.

Game. Set. Break-Up.

Philippoussis's agent, Carlos Fleming, has refused to comment for the past two weeks about whether the couple were still together. He would say only that "Mark is focusing on his preparation. His progress is coming along well."

That doesn't bode well for him and Salinas.

We wonder if the tennis player decided to go with Jennifer Braff instead because, you know, she's way hotter.

Amanda Salinas Wins Age of Love

Congratulations are in order for Amanda Salinas and Mark Philippoussis.

The 31-year-old Australian professional tennis player chose Salinas, a 25-year-old financial planner's assistant from Nashville, TN, as the first-ever Age of Love winner during last night's finale broadcast of the NBC reality dating series.

Amanda Salinas

Amanda Salinas has conquered all others on Age of Love.

Mark's choice of Amanda --the only remaining 20-something "Kitten" - meant Jennifer Braff, a 48-year-old Carson, CA-resident who has a son the same age as Salinas, was the seventh and final 40-something "Cougar" to leave the competition.

She wasn't happy about the diss.

"Until going into this experience, I thought about shows like this, and the emotions that the women and the guys develop for each other," said Jen. "I thought to myself it couldn't possibly be real. But I'm sitting here... and I know now for myself that my emotions are real.

This is real for me, and it makes me sad. I know that we had a connection. I know we had a very strong chemistry. But he got scared. I know that if I had been younger Mark would have chosen me. It hurts. It hurts a lot."

We feel bad for her - but happy for the new reality TV couple!

Rejected Kitten: Mark Philippoussis is Vain, Arrogant

She was the fourth to be eliminated from NBC's new dating reality series, Age of Love, but Adelaide Dawson is not complaining.

Adelaide Dawson Not only does she claim she wasn't playing to win, she also says that the show's eligible bachelor, Mark Philippoussis, is not exactly her ideal guy.

"I didn't see it as a competition," Dawson told the Herald Sun and Buddy TV reported.  "I thought I would have a go because, you never know, I might like this person, but he wasn't my type."

Age of Love differs from other dating shows for its unique format.  The participating women have been divided into two groups according to age.  The forty-year-old women have been deemed the "cougars," while the twenty-year-old women have been deemed the "kittens."

Dawson, 26, automatically fell under the second group.

"I have never been called a kitten before this," Dawson said.  "But I would prefer to be a kitten than a cougar.  Cougar is derogatory.  To me, it means old women on the prowl at bars."

Age of Love began with 13 women, all seemingly ready to do whatever it takes to win Mark Philippoussis heart.  However, Dawson said that while she was in the game, she did not feel any rivalry with the other women.

"I didn't see it as a competition, but after watching the show and listening to what the older women said about us, I can see they were really competitive."

Clearly, Dawson is not attracted to the man whom she describes as a self-centered, "pretty vain and arrogant" person, so she'll be relieved to know that the feeling is mutual.

"A kiss can tell you a lot about a person and I didn't feel like she gave anything," Philippoussis said.

Mark Philippoussis Hopes for Winner on Age of Love

Mark Philippoussis knows all about love. The tennis score that is a synonym for zero, that is.

But the romantic emotion? Not so much.

Fortunately, NBC and a new reality show have come to his rescue. Because he's "so shy" and wants to "meet someone," the professional athlete admitted to People magazine this week that he's the hopeful bachelor on this summer's show, Age of Love.

Mark Philippoussis In this mating game, half the women are in their 20's and half in their 40's - but "age doesn't matter to me," says Philippoussis, 30. "All the women are beautiful."

Once ranked among the world's top tennis stars, Philippoussis has been sidelined by a series of knee surgeries. But worse, he says, he's been single since last August. And he wants the world to know that despite tab reports, he has "never, ever dated Paris Hilton or Tara Reid."

Well, okay then. Guess that explains why he'll team with host Mark Consuelos in hopes of finding the perfect match on the show.

With dreams of returing to Wimbledon's Centre Court in June â€" he lost in the finals in 2003 â€" Philippousis has been playing tennis four times a week with friend Gavin Rossdale at the Beverly Hills estate the rocker shares with wife Gwen Stefani and son Kingston.

Rossdale is one of a handful of people who knew about Age of Love. "Gavin said to me, 'Wow. You could change the dating habits of all mankind!' " Philippousis says.

But for now, he's just "a simple guy who wants a simple girl." And she must meet certain standards: If she smokes, forget it. Ditto for anyone who doesn't like dogs. Says Philippoussis: "I just don't see how that could ever work."

That's because his 4-month-old Rottweiler puppy, Kya, is the main girl in his life right now.

"When I turn out the lights, she gets up on the bed and puts her front paws on my shoulders and she kisses me goodnight," he says. "Now that's love."
