A week after the Lo-Audrina feud, Lauren Conrad opens up to Doug Reinhardt about the aftermath on tonight's all-new The Hills.

"It was kind of a disaster," she tells him over lunch.

With The Hills fourth season premiering tonight, Us Weekly spoke with some of the "reality" show's cast about the most scandalous story so far: the alleged Lauren Conrad sex tape and whether Spencer and Heidi started the rumor. LC, Speidi, Brody Jenner and Jason Wahler weigh in below ...

The Hills might not have received an Emmy nod, but Lauren Conrad will still be leaving a major mark on the event.

ABC announced that Conrad will design a "one-of-a-kind couture red carpet gown" for the women handing out statuettes at the Emmys.

"For the first time in Emmy history, a celebrity designer will be creating a gown to be worn by the women who are handing out the Emmys statuettes," said Emmy producer Ken Ehrlich.

"We are very excited to have someone as talented as Lauren Conrad working to help make this a very memorable and exciting show."

Lauren Conrad - a part-time student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles - made her designer debut at May's Mercedes-Benz L.A. Fashion Week, and it featured 30 different looks.

The red carpet gown she's designing for the Emmy Awards (September 21 is the date) is not part of her Lauren Conrad Collection, which is currently sold in 500 boutiques across the country.

"I am so excited that the Academy has asked me to design a dress for this year's Emmy Awards," said Lauren Conrad.

"I will be doing a red carpet look that reflects the simple, classic design of the Lauren Conrad Collection but with a black tie twist."

The Hills starts its fourth season Monday night!

The "acting" bug has bitten Lauren Conrad. The Hills star will be appearing in an episode of ABC Family's college soap, Greek.

She'll be playing a familiar "character" in Lauren Conrad.

Explains series creator Sean Smith, LC — who will shoot her scene in early September for an October 28 episode — will be playing a "spiritual adviser" to Spencer Grammer's character. Should be funny!

"It's a dream sequence in which Casey and LC are best friends. Casey has a big decision to make, and she's like, 'LC, what do I do? Advise me!'" he reveals, adding that Casey holds LC in high esteem.

There are no direct references to The Hills in the script, but Smith says the scene has a vibe that calls the show to mind:

"There are a lot of 'likes' to make it sound conversational."

What's next? A guest spot by Heidi and Spencer? Please no.

Are Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard dating?

They'll be the last to tell – for right now.

The Hills star played coy when asked Saturday about reports from pals that she and the My Boys actor are an item.

"I'm just dating," The Hills star, 22, said Saturday at the Pre-Party for the Teen Choice Awards. "I'm single and having fun."

Kyle Howard, 30 was more direct.

"I'm not going to answer that," he said Saturday at the Celebrity Kickball event hosted by French Connection in Malibu.

They met through Brody Jenner a few weeks ago, a friend says, and have been seen together at Crown Bar on July 23 – "Almost on top of each other," a witness says – and a few days later at Project Beach House in Malibu and at jazz night at Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

Looks like Lauren Conrad has more BFF drama in the upcoming fourth season of The Hills, which premieres August 18 on MTV.

Friend-turned-rival of the season: Stephanie Pratt.

The reason? Steph moves in on LC's new boy Doug Reinhardt.

Meanwhile, Lo Bosworth and Audrina Patridge try to sort out their own tensions, Whitney Port has a new man in her life, and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt fight with their siblings - and each other.

Ever since the end of last season on The Hills, co-stars Lauren and Audrina have been having major problems with their friendship.

Things have seemingly smoothed over as of late. Case in point: They were having fun throughout last night's excursion. Great stuff!

HILLS PALS: No one knows if Audrina Patridge will remain roommates with Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth for long, but they are all still friends.
