The Hills star Lauren Conrad has extended an olive branch to former Laguna Beach high school rival Kristin Cavallari, reports Life & Style.

"Lauren Conrad invited Kristin to her recent fashion show," says an insider. "And Kristin accepted!" She must be even more desperate for attention than thought!

The girls' long-standing, immensely popular feud began three years ago over their Laguna Beach co-star Stephen Colletti, now 22.

Both Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad liked and sort of hooked up with the cutie, who later dated Heroes star Hayden Panettiere.

In the trailer for the upcoming episodes of The Hills, it's obvious that the tension between Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt is rising.

"When we get back to L.A., I need you to move out... I gave up everything for you!" Montag says. "I'm not the one who wanted to see other people!"

Not surprisingly, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have chosen, exclusively, to open up about this in the new issue of Us Weekly!

Apparently, the magazine reports, there was another girl who wreaked havoc on the not-at-all-fake relationship of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

"Spencer and I have really had our ups and downs," Montag said.

"I've been betrayed by friends before, but I've never had a boyfriend do this to me. Spencer and I may differ on what it means to cheat."

"We're definitely on a roller coaster," Spencer Pratt admits. "I'm not too happy about a lot of things."

Montag and Pratt also revealed that their matchmaker was none other than famed Laguna Beach alumna Kristin Cavallari.

"[Kristin Cavallari] made it all happen," Pratt says. "She said to me, 'I know this girl who's so hot and perfect for you!'"

Why else, during an otherwise routine shopping excursion, would she strip down to a white tank-top and pose so seductively for photographers?

Salivate at will, guys. That's what she's looking for.

The former high school rival of Lauren Conrad may have been the "it" girl back then, but she has certainly lost the popularity contest since.

LC has gone on to huge fame as the star of The Hills. As for Kristin Cavallari, well, at least she's got her looks. And presumably her health.

At the Cloverfield premiere last week, Kristin Cavallari - remember her? - was there and, as you can see, the former Laguna Beach star looked amazing.

We've hardly done any posts on Kristin in the last few months, and it's not just because we're not that into her anymore, we promise. She's just been AWOL.

There was a rumor that Kristin may somehow be incorporated into the eight bonus episodes of The Hills - which stars her high school rival Lauren Conrad - this spring. But LC seems to have all but quashed that claim.

Still, with reality TV shows more abundant and popular than ever, there's got to be room for Kristin Cavallari somewhere, don't you think?

Like other stars, notably Paris Hilton, Kristin Cavallari has begun charging club owners for personal appearances that might produce publicity for their venues in celebrity gossip magazines and on websites.

And it's working. Well.

She sparked a bidding war between Tao Las Vegas and Pure Las Vegas for the rights to hold her upcoming 21st birthday bash - and bids are already at $100,000.

What's more, Cavallari has also mastered another cash-flow method originated by celebs - enlisting a "personal photographer" to get the "big photos" of her and her boyfriend of several months, Nick Zano.

She then sells the images to the tabloids herself, and gets a cut. That infuriates the event organizers who pay the reality TV goddess to attend their events because they get weak photos for publicity.

But Kristin's rep defends her client, stating:

"We have some offers from different venues to hold Kristin's birthday party, and she has not yet chosen one... In this time of stalkerazzi who invade her privacy, Kristin Cavallari, like other celebs, has found a way to try to counter these uncomfortable situations and work with photographers they know and trust."
