It was a busy Monday night for Jake Pavelka.

The latest ABC-sponsored celebrity love seeker chose Vienna Girardi over Tenley Molzahn on the season finale of The Bachelor, much to the chagrin of most viewers. He then proposed to her and referred to her as his "baby" on the After the Rose special.

Excuse us while we vomit.

From there, it was announced that Jake would actually participate on the new season of Dancing with the Stars. Hopefully, this casting puts an end to anyone's idea that The Bachelor is about love instead of ratings.

Jake Pavelka is the ideal Bachelor: he's handsome, successful and clearly willing to read from whatever script ABC places in fromt of him.

Case in point: during an interview with The New York Post, the airline pilot was asked if he believes in falling in love on reality TV. After all, pretty much every single Bachelor-related couple has broken up.

"I don’t understand why more haven’t worked out," he replied. "They make it possible to completely ignore the camera. They don’t put you in weird situations. They've never said “Can you retake this?” or “Can you say this?” Everything was realistic."

Right. Totally realistic. Like this impromptu football game that breaks out between Jake and his suitors on the show's season premiere.

Pavelka and his package of pre-prepared lines debut on January 4 on ABC.

It's official: ABC confirmed last night that Jake Pavelka is the new Bachelor.

In a subsequent interview with Extra, you'll never believe this, but Jake said he's ready to find a mate.

“I’m 31 and still single, so I’m doing something wrong out there," he said. “I am absolutely ready to settle down."

For at least a few weeks, with whichever woman he chooses, that is.

On The Bachelorette, Jake Pavelka often told Jillian Harris he was "too perfect" for many women.

Fellow contestant Wes Hayden would disagree with that, of course, as Jake returned - after he was kicked out - to rat Wes out and tell Jillian that Hayden had a girlfriend.

Now, if rumors are true, America will get to decide for itself what kind of a man Jake really is: a Tennessee woman, who tried out for the 14th season of The Bachelor, claims the show has chosen Pavelka as its next star.

Brittney Gammel says the show's new season starts taping next month and premieres in January. She revealed the news about Jake to Us Weekly, who followed up with ABC.

The network replied:

"We are not going to confirm who The Bachelor is or if this woman is even one of the bachelorettes. People need to tune into Dancing With the Stars on October 13 to find out the real identity of the next Bachelor."
