Viewers of The Real Housewives of New Jersey rolled their eyes and laughed at Danielle Staub for most of the show's first season.

But her ex-husband Kevin Maher, the man that exposed Staub's past in the 1996 book Cop Without a Badge, says there's nothing funny about what Danielle has done.

"I can't believe Danielle would have allowed herself to go on TV - on a series that basically shows where she lives! - given what she has done in the past," Maher told Star.

Granted, court documents from Staub's 1986 FBI arrest, for her role in an extortionl/kidnapping plot, exist. And, yes, they include details of how she cut a deal with the government to avoid a jail sentence by ratting on her drug dealer friends.

But does that really spell trouble for the mother of two? Are these shady acquaintances really watching Bravo?

"She helped put a couple of big-time Colombian coke dealers in jail," said Maher. "These are dangerous men who never forget... and they could be back out on the street now. It’s mind-boggling to me that she’d put herself at risk!"

Considering her past of cocaine-snorting, extorition and sex tapes, is it really any surprise that Danielle Staub once appeared on a soap opera?

In 2001, the reality TV star appeared in a brief All My Children scene. She played a character named Nora, who was on a date with Jackson Montgomery (played by Walt Wiley).

After uttering a few words, Staub gets interrupted by... Josh Duhamel! Indeed, Fergie's husband played Leo du Pres on the daytime drama from 1999 to 2002.

Indeed, there is a Danielle Staub sex tape. But, no, we won't be seeing it any time soon.

Earlier today, a judge ordered an injunction against the release of any sexually explicit footage featuring The Real Housewife of New Jersey and her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Zalewski.

"We went to court today to prohibit the distribution of any tape or photograph and temporarily restrain him from doing that, and we were successful," Staub's attorney Darren Del Sardo told Us Weekly.

In the latest issue of the tablod, Staub says the tape was "unauthorized and it was taken with his cellphone." She has filed a lawsuit against Zalewski, claiming that he's attempting to get back at her and her children after she broke up him last year.

Danielle is accusing Zalewski of invasion of privacy, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

On the June 16 season finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jacqueline Laurita stood up for Danielle Staub. The former came to the defense of the latter during a contentious, table-flipping fight with her co-stars.

But those days are over, as Laurita makes it clear in the latest issue of Us Weekly that she and Staub no longer speak.

"I am not friends with Danielle," Jacqueline said, adding that Staub doesn't have permission to see new baby Nicholas. "She has never seen the baby, nor will I ever show her. I learned my family was right about her all along."

Man. We're almost starting to feel sorry for Danielle. Is anyone else?

While The Real Housewives of New Jersey will reunite tonight on Bravo, each of the aforementioned stars spoke with People about their ongoing war of words with one another. Here are a few excerpts:

THEIR CURRENT STATUS:
Caroline: She’s invisible to me. I never had a relationship with her, I never wanted to have a relationship with her and due to her behavior, I will never have a relationship with her. She’s a pathological liar. She is manipulative. She is an opportunist. She has no conscience; she has no morals.

Danielle: Why would I lie? If you’re going to call me a pathological liar, challenge me. I’m a human being, and on the inside my heart aches just like theirs does. Just because there’s so many of them that doesn’t mean that their pain is any more important than mine.

Danielle: Really? Was it my father-in-law that was killed and shoved into a trunk? I’m dangerous? I knew about this through the whole show. I didn’t bring it up once. I’m classy. [But] let’s talk about what’s really dangerous here. I’d like to hear about the two siblings that they haven’t talked to in
a decade — why they made their wives so uncomfortable that their own brothers won’t even speak to them. But I’m the one who caused trouble in that family? Don’t point the finger at me, ’cause I’m not sitting back anymore.

Caroline: People say, “Well, why didn’t you go to her?” Because that reputation preceded her. The woman we knew was incapable of telling the truth. After screaming and arguing for days and days, we made a decision not to tell Danielle that we know [the book] exists. If we play dumb, it can’t come back to haunt us. And that’s the decision we made as a family.

Danielle Staub is reported to be a former call girl that was hooked on cocaine.

So would anyone be surprised if this Real Housewife of New Jersey was also the star of a sex tape?!?

In an interview with Star, an ex-boyfriend of Staub claims he has lewd pictures and a revealing video of the vixen.

Steve Zalewski - who Danielle broke up on the reality show last week - sayss his older, former flame was obsessed with sex, especially any kind of public banging.

"Not only does she want to have sex all the time, but she loves the thrill of doing it in public places, where she might get caught," Zalewski said. "She wanted to make love in restaurant bathrooms basically every time we went out - she'd get all excited and say, 'The people can hear you doing it outside!'"

As for those nude videos of Staub?

"I'm definitely weighing my options as far as selling them and getting them out there. She cost me so much money, why shouldn't I make a few dollars?"

Based on Staub's plastic look, Steve, a few dollars may be all you see for this tape.

Who would have ever guessed, given the cast's civil movie premiere gathering the other day, that Tuesday night's The Real Housewives of New Jersey season finale would end up being an all-out debacle.

Okay, just about everyone.

Teresa Giudice went off on Danielle Staub, calling her a "prostitution whore" among other things, in front of several cast members' children no less.

Classy, but what else do you expect?

The back story here obviously involves Danielle's shady past and "the book" (Cop Without a Badge) that apparently describes it in graphic detail.

But you don't have to be a Real Housewives of New Jersey fan to appreciate the bizarre clip below, which will now live on in reality TV infamy.

In the face of allegations that she was a cocaine-addicted call girl, Danielle Staub is speaking out.

The Real Housewife of New Jersey has watched her personal life become very public, following the revelation that ex-husband Kevin Maher detailed her troubled past in the book Cop Without a Badge.

In the latest issue of People, Staub says Maher's “recollection of me is completely absurd." Here's what else she has to say:

On allegations of cocaine use: “I was a pothead. Period."

On plastic sugery: "I haven’t had anything done. Just my bubbies. Two times.”

On her marriage to Maher: Staub says he “brutalized and terrorized” her during their time together.

On Maher's claims that she has slept with 1,000 men: “I do enjoy a healthy sex life, but with one partner [at a time].”

Danielle Staub might be an ex-con with a former penchant for cocaine and stripping, but don't ask her to make apologies for what she's gone through.

In an interview with Nightline, which will air Monday night, The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member refused to address the specifics of her past. She also refused to feel guilty about them.

"I'm just going to say I am a work in progress," Staub said. "If people have issues with me, I am not going to apologize for [it]. That's their problem. But I am, have been, a loner my whole life. And I'm OK. I'm still around."

In spite of everything - or likely because of everything, as the stories have created quite a few headlines for her - Danielle has no regrets on joining the show.

"I don't regret doing it. Any journey there's a beginning, a middle and end, and my journey and my life are not over. I'm on a journey."
