Dancing With the Stars Profile: Maurice Greene

Having held the world record in the 100-meter dash years ago, Maurice Greene was considered the fastest man alive.

This season on Dancing with the Stars, we'll find out if speed kills his chances... or dooms his opponents. Greene's partner will be Cheryl Burke.

"I told Cheryl I hope I don't make you mad by calling you up in the middle of the night and saying, 'Let's go work out!' Green said. "I've already texted her twice before and she says, 'You're crazy! Take your time.'"

Karina Smirnoff to Exploit Hotness of Rocco DiSpirito

Karina Smirnoff is no fool.

She knows how good looking partner Rocco DiSpirito is, and she has every intention of exploiting that fact to her advantage of Dancing with the Stars this season.

“He’s very handsome,” Smirnoff told People Magazine last week. “A lot of women kept telling me, ‘Oh, my god, you have a hottie! You got a hottie this season!’ So I’m sure we’re going to try to play off the handsomeness of Rocco.”

How far do you think Karina Smirnoff and Rocca DiSpirito will advance this season?

As for other strategy, Smirnoff said Rocco simply has to relax.

“I think he’s a lot of fun when we like just hang out or talk, but when he’s actually in the studio, motivated and determined to do well, he gets very tight,” she said, “so I need him to let go of all inhibitions and just go for it.”

Dancing With the Stars Profile: Warren Sapp

Warren Sapp spent his NFL career getting to the quarterback.

On Dancing with the Stars, though, he'll have to get his footwork in order if he and Kym Johnson want any chance on season seven of the show. Sapp is easily the largest man to ever participate on it.

"In NFL training camp, I have to put on 20 pounds of pads twice a day to take on 300-pound men," said Sapp. "I'll take Kym [Johnson] any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Now me on these two-inch heels, that might be a little bit difficult."

It definitely makes us wanna tune in, though.

Interview with Maksim Chmerkovskiy

After sitting out last season for some physical rehab, Dacing With the Stars professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy is back this season.  Maksim's dance partner this year is going to be two-time Olympic gold medal winner Misty May-Treanor.

The lucky folks at TV Guide recently had a chance to sit down with dancing stud and we have an excerpt for you.

You said you needed a break from the show. But did you miss it?
Chmerkovskiy: I actually did. And I'm happy to be back. The only thing I was worried about was I thought that I was gonna get punished for taking time off and get somebody to dance with who was not good. But they ended up rewarding me by giving me probably the best partner I could have. I thought I couldn't top Mel B.

TVGuide.com: Misty is better than Mel B?
Chmerkovskiy: I was shocked, and I don’t throw that word around lightly. People are going to be very surprised by how well she's going to dance. Laila (Ali, season four) had an incredible work ethic. But I could be too much for her. She'd say: You've gotta back off. And then Mel (season five) was just this incredible personality. But she had zero attention span. So here, in Misty, I have a combination of the best qualities of both. She's like a perfect person to love. She has this aura of sweetness, and she'll practice for as long as it takes. Let Cheryl [Burke] and Julianne [Hough] collect the trophies. I'll collect friends for life.

For more, be sure and head over to TV Guide for the full interview.

Dancing With the Stars Profile: Toni Braxton

Toni Braxton isn't greedy. She has six Grammy Awards, but she'll be happy with just one Dancing with the Stars trophy.

Or at least one opportunity to motivate people with heart problems, as she has on season seven of the show.

Following the birth of her second child, this singer battled heart disease. She's now partnering with Alec Mazo and aiming to inspire.

"I am hoping this motivates people that are going through heart issues," said Braxton. "I don't mind being a pioneer."

First Dancing with the Stars Promo: Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas

We're just over two weeks away from the seventh season premiere of Dancing with the Stars!

With that in mind, here's our first of a few looks at various celebrities and their partners.

How far do you think Kim Kardashian and Mark Ballas will go on the competition?

Dancing with the Stars Profile: Ted McGinley

Ted McGinley is a "that guy" actor.

He guest stars on a television show and viewers immediately think: "Oh, it's that guy! Where do I know that guy from?"

McGinley's most famous role is that of Al Bundy's neighbor on Married... with Children. But his stock is about to seriously rise with an appearance on this season of Dancing with the Stars.

The actor is trying to build a conservative base of fans, evidently, as he told People Magazine's readers: "If you have a prayer list, put me on it."

Dancing With the Stars Profile: Misty May-Treanor

Gold medal, schmold medal.

Does Misty May-Treanor have what it takes to conquer all on Dancing with the Stars?

The two-time Olympic volleyball champion is teaming up with Maksim Chmerkovskiy on season seven. So many women probably think May already is a winner.

As for her experience on the dancing floor, as opposed to on the beach, May-Treanor told People Magazine:

"I took a basic dance class in college, like a Dance 101, where we learned how to line dance, do ballroom and different styles, but because there were so few taller guys in the class, I had to be the guy! So I didn't learn the dances the way I wanted to."

Dancing With the Stars Profile: Lance Bass

We have no problem with Lance Bass appearing on Dancing with the Stars.

But, like partner Lacey Schimmer, he should be on the professional side, not the celebrity side!

After all, Bass is best known for his days in a boy band, which consisted of non-stop singing and - wait for it! - dancing. We just hope the judges at least raise their expectations for this seaon seven contestant.

Lance Bass

As for the routine Lance is most looking foward to this fall?

"I'm really excited to do the paso doble. That's my favorite to watch because it's so intense and passionate – and you get to use a cape!"

Dancing With the Stars Profile: Susan Lucci

With over 20 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, Susan Lucci is the unquestionale queen of daytime television.

But will the All My Children star be crowned the winner of this season's Dancing with the Stars?

Susan Lucci

The soap opera actress, who will be teamed with professional Tony Dovolani, does have one thing going for her: advice from co-star Cameron Mathison, who impressed viewers on season five.

"Cameron has been so generous with his time and his insights," said Lucci. "I really feel it's going to be a life experience."
