Dancing With the Stars Contestants Bid Farewell to Priscilla Presley

Priscilla Presley PicThe ousting of Priscilla Presley on Dancing with the Stars last night was far from surprising. But it was still sad to many of the remaining contestants.

Here's a rundown of what they had to say about the 62-year old actress:

  • Marlee Matlin: "I learned that, despite the fame and the fortune, she really is a genuine person.

I respect her as a woman and as a mother... she was always very concerned about her family, and I am going to miss her."

  • Kristi Yamaguchi: "She was one of those people who, when they talk, you want to cling on to every word they say."
  • Karina Smirnoff said Presley was always "very humble. She would always take my breath away... she was a true inspiration."
  • Shannon Elizabeth (competing for the conceited, back-handed compliment award): "Think about how old, [she is]. She competed just as well as everyone else. And she did the splits â€" which I can't even do!"

Priscilla Presley Voted Off Dancing with the Stars

There was no Michael Johns-like surprise elimination on Dancing with the Stars last night. Priscilla Presley was voted off the show.

The 62-year old actress and partner Louis van Amstel gave it their best this season, but it simply wasn't enough. They were joined in the bottom two couples by Cheryl Burke and Cristian de la Fuente.

Priscilla Presley reacts to the news: no more Dancing with the Stars for Mrs. Elvis.

Marissa Jaret Winokur is Bootylicious

Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony DovolaniDespite a few missteps early on, Marissa Jaret Winokur keeps chugging along, much to the delight of fans.

The former Broadway star has even dubbed herself the "little engine that could," but she recently admitted to People Magazine that a different nickname might be more apt.

"Actually, it was the ‘little booty that could', it really was!" Winokur said of last night's rocking rump. "I shook it as much as I could, and I have a lot to shake, but that's just what God gave me."

Not that the Dancing with the Stars star is complaining: "I am thanking God for my booty... and my man thanks God for my Booty, too!"

Jonathon Roberts Dishes on Dancing With the Stars, Week Five

Jonathan Roberts PhotoThe good folks at TV Squad sat down with Jonathon Roberts after last night's show.

The partner of Monica Seles during season six - until they got booted off, of course - had the following to say about the most recent edition of Dancing With the Stars:

TV Squad: I guess we'll start with favorite performance of the night. For me, I thought it was Kristi & Mark again.
Jonathon Roberts: Tonight was interesting for me. I wasn't actually blown away by anyone. Last week there were several. I think Jason, Kristi, and Shannon really were impressive for me. And tonight I thought there were several good numbers, but nobody blew me out of the water.

With Kristi, her leg extensions were great, her movement was great, but maybe because it was a slower dance, Kristi didn't blow me out of the water. After what she did in the pasa doble last week, that was a professional quality routine. It was absolutely incredible. And for me, even though the rumba is the romantic dance of love and a little softer, it didn't make be go wow. It was a good number, but it wasn't as amazing as last week's number.

Dancing With the Stars Recap: Week Five

It was a night full of the Rumba and the Samba. And the usual, stellar performance from Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas.

We're really beginning to think athletes should not be allowed on Dancing With the Stars in the future, as Jason Taylor also impressed and every recent season has been dominated by those that also dominated on a playing surface of some kind.

The Samba

Cristián de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke scored 23 points for their version of the Rumba.

Mario Lopez Continues to Laugh Off Karina Smirnoff Rumors

As the rumors continue to swirl that Karina Smirnoff is dating Dancing with the Stars partner Mario, the professional's actual boyfriend continues to laugh at the notion.

"People make up crazy stuff," Mario Lopez told Us Weekly. "I thought it was funny... I know the nature of the business and people talk. It's funny because those rumors always tend come up during the season."

Mr. Kristi Yamaguchi to Attend Future Dancing with the Stars Performances

Kristi Yamaguchi, Bret HedicanKristi Yamaguchi has always enjoyed major fan support in the Dancing with the Stars crowd: mom Carol and Kristi's sister take up a pair of front-row seats every week.

Now, though, the Dancing favorite is adding to her posse. Yamaguchi's hockey star husband Bret Hedican will be attending the performances, now that his Carolina Hurricanes season is over.

"It feels great," Kristi said, "because it's kind of been lonely here."

Of course, this means Hedicanget a closer view of his wife's ever steamier dance routines with partner Mark Ballas.

"He understands," the gold medalist said, adding that it's just like her performances with figure skaters Scott Hamilton or Kurt Browning. "But notice that he's here, and sitting in the front row."

Adam Carolla Voted Off Dancing With the Stars

Adam Carolla, who was not shy in stating that he was performing on Dancing with the Stars solely to promote his new movie (The Hammer) and hoped to get voted off within the first few week, got his wish last night.

Fans, unappreciative of his talents on a unicycle from the night before, sent the comedian and his beautiful partner Julianne Hough home.

A Unicyclist

Carolla was gracious in defeat, saying:

"I lost 20 pounds of fat, I gained 105 pounds of angel. I love this girl."

Joining Carolla and Hough in the bottom two were Priscilla Presley and Louis Van Amstel, who were penalized a point Monday night for doing a lift during their Viennese waltz.

Dancing With the Stars Recap: A Weird Night

It was an impressive evening of dancing - especially from Kristi, Shanon and Jason - but the crazies came out a bit, too.

Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke showed some serious skin (not that we're complaining on either account), Adam Carolla wore a mustache and Taylor attended a Medieval Times dinner theater. All in a night of Dancing with the Stars.

Steve Guttenberg: Gracious in Dancing with the Stars Defeat

Recently eliminated Dancing with the Stars contestant Steve Guttenberg appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on Tuesday night. True to form, the actor was genial and gracious.

"I think there's so many talented people on it -- that's what's great," said Guttenberg. "It's a chance for everybody in America -- we're in a tough economic time, we've got a crazy presidential race going on -- so I think that this show is so good for everybody and it makes the world a better place. I was glad to be on it."

Wow. Profound stuff from The Gutte. We like it.

Anna Trebunskaya, Steve Guttenberg

During the interview, Kimmel also asked Guttenberg what he thought about Penn Jillette's recent comments that he through it was unfair that Dancing with the Stars casts celebrity participants such as Olympic gold medalist figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, who has been atop the judges' leaderboard two weeks in a row and possesses a natural talent for dancing.

Guttenberg basically told Jillette to chill out.

"It's not a real competition," he said. "In a real ballroom competition, 10 couples dance together and the judges have a clipboard and they never talk. This is more of a television show -- an entertainment show -- so it's not a real dance competition."

What do you think? Is is fair for Yamaguchi to be on the show?
