Warren Sapp Might go Dancing With the Stars

In an interview with The St. Petersburg Times, recently retired defense end Warren Sapp made it sound like his next gig may take him to reality TV.

“I might do that Dancing With the Stars,” Sapp said of his future plans. “It’s something that sort of came out of nowhere. But I enjoy the idea of training for something else. My whole life has been football. I could hang out in L.A. for a few weeks. My daughter would love it. There’s nothing wrong with my smile. I don’t think I speak Ebonics. I think I will (do the show).”

What lucky lady will partner with Warren Sapp on Dancing with the Stars?

Cybill Shepherd Won’t Be Dancing With the Stars

First, Terrell Owens reportedly turned down a chance to go Dancing With the Stars.

Now, actress Cybill Shepherd has said she didn’t accept the show’s invitation to appear next season.

“She’s not going to do it,” Shepherd’s publicist, Heidi Schaeffer, said. “This isn’t the first time they’ve asked her. She’s been approached a few times. She does love to dance, but I think the rigor of all of that involves a lot and she’s been working steadily and enjoying being available.”

Cybill Shepherd won’t be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Which celebrity would you like to see on the series?

Terrell Owens Turns DownDancing With the Stars

Darn it. How great would it have been to see loony, attention-starved wide received Terrell Owens on Dancing with the Stars?

The prima donna of an NFL star said the show asked him to be on it.

“They asked me to do that last year and I graciously declined,” Owens said. “I don’t need to get on national TV to show people I can dance. I do that 16, 17 weeks out of the year. I’ve been doing it all my career… I mean, I know I can dance.”

Oh yeah, T.O.? Then why not go out on the dance floor and prove it?!

Kristi Yamaguchi Wins Dancing with the Stars

Kristi Yamaguchi was considered the Dancing with the Stars favorite before she took a step on step. A Gold Medal-winning ice skater, everyone figured, would have superior footwork to any actor or singer in the competition.

And it was apparent from the start that this was the case - but Kristi and partner Mark Ballas did still work hard on their way to the trophy. Which they received last night.

In an expected result, following perfect scores across the board on her final dances Monday evening, Kristi was named Dancing with the Stars champion over runner-up Jason Taylor. Here’s a look at the announcement:

Dancing with the Stars Finale Results

One of the final three couples will be eliminated from Dancing with the Stars tonight - and, despite the impressive physique seen below, we’re guessing it will be Jason Taylor and partner Edyta Sliwinska.

That tandem scored the lowest last night, combining on a Cha Cha and Freestyle for 51 points. As for season six favorite Kristi Yamaguchi? She fared a tad better. As in, nine points better. As in, two perfect scores.

Julianne Hough is Rooting for Kristi Yamaguchi

Sorry, Jason Taylor and Cristian de la Fuente. You may have a legion of fans, but Julianne Hough isn’t one of them.

“I’m really rooting for Kristi Yamaguchi,” Hough told Entertainment Tonight when asked who her favorite remaining contestant on Dancing with the Stars was. “I think she’s phenomenal and that she deserves to win.  She just has the most consistency throughout the whole show.”

Meanwhile, since her elimination on the show, Hough has been busy promoting her self-titled debut album, which will be released tomorrow.

“I’m so excited.  I can’t wait for everybody to hear it,” the beauty said.  “Everybody knows me as a dancer and doesn’t really know that I’ve gone through so many experiences in my life, even though I’m 19.  So with those experiences come great songs — and passion and emotion through the songs.  It’s going to be a whole new side that people get to see of me.”

Kristi Yamaguchi Speaks on Dancing With the Stars Finale

Just a few hours prior to the Dancing with the Stars finale, Kristi Yamaguchi sat down with TV Guide. Here are highlights from the interview:

TV Guide.com: You’ve been a favorite from the start, and it’s been a while since a woman has won Dancing with the Stars. Are you feeling any extra pressure?
Kristi Yamaguchi: No, I’m not looking at it as extra pressure. I think there’s been pressure throughout the competition. I’m really proud and thankful for the fans who have voted us all the way through. At this point, I just want to dance my heart out and do all I can and hopefully have a good time.

Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas

TV Guide.com: You’ll be going up Cheryl and Edyta. One of them is the two-time champion and the other is a show veteran.  What tricks are you and Mark planning to pull out for your freestyle?
Kristi: We’ve definitely got tricks up our sleeve. We’ve been working really hard and I think we’ve got some good surprises in store.

TV Guide.com: What’s the best advice Mark Ballas has given you?
Yamaguchi: The best thing he’s done is just prepare me for every Monday. We work really hard — we spend six to eight hours in the studio a day. Were adding on hours now because this week we have three dances to get ready. It’s really non-stop. He has been good at knowing how to push me and how far to push me.

Marissa Jaret Winokur Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani had an impressive, unexpected run on Dancing with the Stars.

But it finally came to an end last night, as the dup was voted out before next week’s final.

“No one expected us to get this far,” Jaret Winokur told host Samantha Harris. “I didn’t expect us to get this far. Tony didn’t expect me to get this far…This has been such an incredible, incredible experience.”

Despite posting the lowest scores among the remaining dancers, Jaret Winokur and Dovolani continued to advance in the competition, shocking  viewers last week by edging out Mario and Karina for a spot in the semifinals.

Jaret Winokur teared up last night, but still encouraged her fans:

“I want everyone to go out and do something fun and do something that makes you feel sexy and shake what your momma gave you!”

Next week’s finals will feature Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas; Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska; and Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke. Who do you think will win?

Dancing With the Stars: Semifinal Summary Live

It’s still difficult to believe that Marissa Jaret Winokur is alive during the semifinals of Dancing with the Stars. But the real question is whether or not she has any chance at making it to next week’s finals.

It doesn’t seem likely after last night’s performances, during which Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas (pictured below) took over the top spot on the leader board again.

Mark Ballas and Sabrina Bryan Break Up

While the rumor that one Dancing with the Stars couple broke up was false - indeed, Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez are still going strong - the following report has been confirmed:

Pro dancer Mark Ballas and Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan have split.

“She is too busy for me,” Ballas said, a bit bitterly it sounds like. “We are just friends now.”

Sabrina, Mark

The pair met in November 2007 when they were partnered together on season five of Dancing With the Stars.

“We’ve gotten so close, and I guess the friendship started from the moment we met,” Bryan said last year. “Now that the show is over, we definitely couldn’t stand the thought of not being in each other’s lives at this point.”

That may still be the case - but merely as friends from now on. Sorry, Mark.
