Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Cast

Way to exploit truly troubled individuals, VH1! Here's an excerpt from the network's press release, touting the series:

The series will chronicle the patients’ intensive 21-day program with both group and one-on-one therapy and non-traditional therapies like art and music. Returning to the show to help Dr. Drew are drug counselor Bob Forrest and resident technician Shelly Sprague who have each spent years on both sides of the rehab fence. Nikki McKibbin on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew

Nikki McKibbin may have appeared to have enjoyed her time on the first season of American Idol.

But on the second season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, the former finalist says Simon Cowell's insults contributed to her substance abuse problem.

“I came out of Idol with a lack of self-confidence. I think I had my first solo in school when I was 5, and I got more as I got older: That’s the biggest compliment in choir. I had never been told I wasn’t good enough," McKibbin said.

"Having to hear it for so many weeks from Simon Cowell killed me inside. I couldn’t get the s*** he had said to me out of my head. It drove me deeper into my depression. I wouldn’t say that this was Simon’s fault. It just added to the addict that I already was.

Here's a look at how that magnanimous shrink, Dr. Drew, dealt with the issue:

Dr. Drew's Rehab Center Under Investigation

This place sounds more dysfunctional than the Big Brother house!

Three adult patients died unexpectedly and a teenage patient was raped after entering a Pasadena psychiatric hospital known for its association with Drew Pinsky, star of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, the L.A. Times reports.

The incidents occurred in the last five months at Aurora Las Encinas Hospital, which advertises itself as a "world-renowned" haven where patients with acute mental illness and substance abuse problems can recover.

It is a favored destination for rock stars, actors and more.

Dr. Drew Pinsky

Drew Pinsky, who co-hosts the syndicated radio show Loveline and anchors the VH1 reality TV series Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, is co-medical director of the chemical dependency department at the hospital.

He has said he played no direct role in any patients' care.

Experts say it is rare to see so many patients at a psychiatric hospital die or be harmed in such a short period. California health inspectors have investigated and faulted the hospital in the first two deaths.

The Return of Celebrity Rehab

Great news, train wreck fans!

Celebrity Rehab 2 began production yesterday at Dr. Drew's facility in Pasadena. And this is simply hilarious:

Jeff Conaway (pictured), who was a cast member of the first Celebrity Rehab, is back for more. Considering the fact that the first time didn't work, could it be that Conaway is more interested in attention than actually being cured?

No way, right?

Jeff Conaway wants attention. And another drink.

The rest of the cast includes:

  • Rodney King
  • Nikki McKibbin (American Idol)
  • Tawny Kitaen
  • Amber Smith
  • Steven Adler
  • Sean Stewart
  • Gary Busey

The new season premieres in October.

Jessica Sierra Barred from Celebrity Rehab Reunion

When the Celebrity Rehab reunion show airs tonight, fans won't get a chance to see how Jessica Sierra is looking these days.

Legal troubles for this former American Idol finalist have reportedly kept her from reuniting with her friends from the exploitive show.

Clean, Sober

Daniel Baldwin - who quit the 21-day round-the-clock program after asking to see naked photos of porn star and fellow participant Mary Carey --was the only other Celebrity Rehab subject to not partake in the reunion show, Dr. Drew Pinsky told The New York Post.

Six of the show's participants - two-time The Surreal Life housemate and former Strange Love star Brigitte Nielsen; former WWE wrestler and The Surreal Life fourth-season housemate Joan "Chyna" Laurer; former Family Matters actress Jaimmee Foxworth; Crazy Town frontman Seth "Shifty" Binzer; Carey; and mixed-martial arts star Ricco "Suave" Rodriguez - agreed to participate in the finale that airs tonight.

American Idol Alum to Appear on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew

285sierrajessica112007.jpg Former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra has discovered a new way to stretch out her 15 minutes of fame.

The troubled singer, who has been in a drug-treatment program in California after pleading no contest to cocaine possession, will be the subject of an episode of VH1's upcoming reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, premiering January 10.

Sierra is one of nine participants on the show, which will be hosted by Loveline's Dr. Drew Pinsky; others include Andy Dick, Tom Sizemore and former WWE star Chyna.

The Idol alum was arrested April 29 at a Tampa nightclub after hitting a fellow bar patron, Wisam Hadad,  in the head with a glass. Hadad said he had never met the singer; she claimed he spat at her, but later acknowledged she may have been mistaken.

She was sentenced Monday to 12 months' probation and random drug screening after pleading no contest to charges of drug possession and assault stemming from a barroom scuffle back in April.
