Andy Baldwin and Tessa Horst: Engagement Called Off

Andy Baldwin and Tessa Horst have called off the engagement.

"When the fantasy wore off and the reality set in, we both realized that we weren't ready to be engaged," Baldwin shocking said.. "We're taking things much slower."

Splitsville!

Reportedly, the couple is still dating as a couple. But Horst has postponed plans to move from San Francisco to Hawaii, where Navy doctor Andy is stationed.

Let's hope Brad Womack and his lady does better down the line.

Andy Baldwin, Tessa Horst Show the World Their Love

US Navy Lt. Andy Baldwin and his "final rose," a.k.a. Tessa Horst, are the latest lovebirds to come out of The Bachelor.

The future Mr. & Mrs. Andy Baldwin were spotted frolicking on a Hawaiian beach, enjoying a romantic Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

Andy and Tessa, who plan to live in Hawaii, had quite the PDA-fest, bringing to mind images of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

Tessa's engagement ring conveniently glistened in the bright sun. We'd ask the Sports Gal what she thinks of this photo spread, but we don't feel like waiting eight days for a response.

Andy Baldwin chided (and praised) his fiancee's heritage.

"I always say the mutts are the most exotic and beautiful," Andy recently joked of Tessa's Chinese and Polish ancestry.

He's a sweetheart. Love 'em or hate 'em, these two are in love. Hope you enjoyed these cute pics... even if they make you want to puke!

Lucky Bachelorette: A Picture of Tessa Horst's Engagement Ring

Sadly, the Scoop staff does not have any pictures of the pink engagement ring Spencer Pratt gave Heidi Montag Tuesday.

Although we're guessing it's only a matter of time, knowing Spencer Pratt and how that weasel loves the media.

However, we're pleased to bring you the next best thing: A picture of the diamond ring presented this week by another reality TV star, Lt. Andy Baldwin, to his lovely bride-to-be, Tessa Horst.

Check out this bling!

Tessa Horst

In an unsurprising move, Andy Baldwin chose Tessa Horst over Bevin Powers in the season finale of The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman Monday night.

They haven't set a date yet, but are thrilled that the show is over so they no longer have to live in secret. We're happy for Andy and Tessa, who seem ready to enjoy a happy life together.

Andy Baldwin, Tessa Horst Discuss Their Love, Future Plans

Andy Baldwin, Tessa HorstHe's not an Italian prince, heir to a big tire company's fortune or a mediocre football player like the men who came before him.

Still, Andy Baldwin proved to be a knight in shining armor on the season finale as he knelt down and offered up a 2-carat diamond to his lovely leading lady, Tessa Horst.

During a press tour to celebrate their love, Baldwin - a Naval doctor - and his bride-to-be spoke with Us Weekly about what they've learned since he dispatched Bevin Powers and chose Tessa on The Bachelor, as well as what's next on tap for the happy pair.

Us Weekly: Congratulations! You both must be so thrilled after having to keep your relationship a secret since the show wrapped in March. What do you have planned now that America knows that you are in love and engaged?
Andy Baldwin: We've been walking around New York and I've been screaming it at the top of my lungs! It's not a secret any longer! We finished the show two months ago and to have to watch it all over again and it's been really hard - especially on Tessa - to have all that drudged up.
Tessa Horst: It's a huge relief to have it over. It's been great moving forward with Andy since the show's been wrapping, but it was hard that everyone around us was watching it as if it was present. We're really excited to move forward from here.

Andy Baldwin Proposes to Tessa Horst on Bachelor Season Finale

Tessa Horst, a 26-year-old San Francisco social worker, accepted the final rose - and a marriage proposal - from U.S. Navy Lieutenant Andy Baldwin during the final Rose Ceremony of The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman.

Andy Pops the QuestionAndy's proposal to Tessa and her acceptance of it marked the first time in four seasons and only the second in its last seven that The Bachelor ended with its bachelor proposing to his final female choice.

"I've always imagined this day, and this is beyond my wildest dream... I met this woman who makes me feel so happy and so unbelievably amazing. I want to say to you Tessa... Will you marry me?"

Andy Baldwin, a 30-year-old undersea medical officer stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, asked Tessa Horst from bended knee at the conclusion of last night's special two-hour finale.

"Yes!" answered Tessa, who put her hand to her mouth and whispered, "Oh my God..."

As Andy slipped a diamond engagement ring around Tessa's finger, she said, "This moment is perfect" and he agreed.

In choosing Tessa, Andy dispatched of Bevin Powers, a 28-year-old Palo Alto, Calif., clinic research coordinator who became the 24th and final lady to be eliminated from Officer and a Gentleman's pool of 25 aspiring wives.

Andy Baldwin: I'm Engaged!

U.S. Navy Lt. Andy Baldwin now swoons for one woman only.

The sleuths at TV Guide caught up with the hot doc, who hands out his last rose on ABC's two-hour season finale of The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman tonight starting at 9 p.m.

What he won't say is whether it's going to Bevin Powers or Tessa Horst. But we think we've got a pretty good idea who gets it.

TV Guide: Were you skeptical because of how some other relationships on The Bachelor have ended?
Andy Baldwin: I'm not a prince (Lorenzo Borghese) and I'm not a Firestone heir (Andrew Firestone). You know, the show has been successful, too. Trista and Ryan Sutter are married and having a baby, and Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado are getting married. I thought if I went in with the right attitude, anything would be possible.

TV Guide: Can you confirm if you're engaged?
Andy Baldwin: I am.

TV Guide: Have you set a date?
Andy Baldwin: No, not yet.

TV Guide: Were you pressured at all to propose?
Andy Baldwin: As things got deeper emotionally, I felt the potential for bigger and better things. To make a commitment and to propose was the right thing to do.

TV Guide: You've been separated from the woman you love since the end of filming….
Andy Baldwin: We do talk a lot. It's been important for us to be able to lean on each other during this time [since taping ended]. Especially her, because she hasn't been able to voice her joy and affection. We [don't] talk too much about the show. We talk about our future.

TV Guide: And have you talked about her becoming a military spouse?
Andy Baldwin: The strength and the courage and the understanding that it takes to be a military spouse is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. She very much understands the sacrifice that goes into being a military spouse, and that was a question I asked of all the women coming down to the end: Were they prepared to move to Hawaii and be married to a military officer who could be deployed at any time?

Andy Baldwin: What a Hunk!

Salivation can be an involuntary response.

You know this all too well if you've gazed upon this picture of U.S. Navy Lt. Andy Baldwin, a.k.a. The Bachelor. Unless you're a guy, of course... oh heck, probably even then. The man is a hunk, folks.

Here, Andy Baldwin is seen exercising in Central Park in New York City. The reality TV dreamboat is an undersea specialist in diving. He's also a triathlete ... and a doctor. How is this man single?

Too Hot

Well, the Sports Gal of ESPN.com would tell you in her episode five guide that Baldwin can be a little dorky. But still, come on. Look at those abs. You have to register those things, right?

Suffice it to say, Andy Baldwin is the anti-Dustin Diamond in every conceivable way. Either Tessa Horst or Bevin Powers - whoever wins his heart on Monday - will be a lucky, lucky woman.

The Bachelor Recap: Fantasy Suite Fun, Danielle's Done

Last night on The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman, a threesome (har har) of girls competed for the affections of Lt. Andy Baldwin.

Bevin Powers, a.k.a. the Ankle Faker, Tessa Horst, a.k.a. the Girl Who Already Won and Spilled the Beans, and Danielle Imwalle, a.k.a. Dead Boyfriend Girl, left nothing in the bag. But only two survived.

To the surprise of no one, Andy chose Bevin and Tessa, casting Danielle aside to join Amber Alchalabi on his growing pile of discarded would-be trophy wives.

It was time for fantasy suite fun in Hawaii last night as Andy Baldwin took the three remaining women to Hawaii, where he lives and works, for some of the... Most. Romantic. Moments. Ever.

Once again, ESPN.com's Sports Gal (wife of ESPN's Sports Guy, Bill Simmons) recaps the drama as only she can. Follow the link to continue reading The Scoop's guide to last night's episode of The Bachelor …

Aye, Aye, Sir

The Bachelor Spoiler: Winner Reportedly Reveals Herself

An Officer and a Gentleman

Currently in the running are Bevin Powers, Danielle Imwalle, and Tessa Horst. One of those three women "had a few drinks the other night and spilled the beans," according to the New York Post's Page Six.

The Bachelor Episode Guide: A Farewell to Amber Alchalabi

AmbieThe drama on the 10th season of The Bachelor continues to heat up... heck, it's hotter than the Jennifer Toof sex tape. That's saying a lot.

We've seen the departure of Alexis Young, Peyton Wright, Stephanie Wilhite and other aspiring trophy wives. This week, another bachelorette sealed her own fate during a visit by Andy Baldwin to her hometown.

Yes, Amber Alchalabi, a.k.a. "Ambie" (pictured), was one of our favorites to go all the way (if you know what we're saying), but shot herself in the foot by having an estranged family and a weird-ass roomate.

Thus, the final threesome (heh, heh) of Bevin Powers, a.k.a. the Ankle Faker, Tessa Horst and Danielle Imwalle will now compete for Andy Baldwin's heart.

Once again, ESPN.com's Sports Gal (wife of ESPN's Sports Guy, Bill Simmons) has recapped the drama. Follow the link to continue reading The Scoop's complete guide to last night's gripping episode of The Bachelor …
