The Bachelor Episode Guide: A Farewell to Amber Alchalabi

AmbieThe drama on the 10th season of The Bachelor continues to heat up... heck, it's hotter than the Jennifer Toof sex tape. That's saying a lot.

We've seen the departure of Alexis Young, Peyton Wright, Stephanie Wilhite and other aspiring trophy wives. This week, another bachelorette sealed her own fate during a visit by Andy Baldwin to her hometown.

Yes, Amber Alchalabi, a.k.a. "Ambie" (pictured), was one of our favorites to go all the way (if you know what we're saying), but shot herself in the foot by having an estranged family and a weird-ass roomate.

Thus, the final threesome (heh, heh) of Bevin Powers, a.k.a. the Ankle Faker, Tessa Horst and Danielle Imwalle will now compete for Andy Baldwin's heart.

Once again, ESPN.com's Sports Gal (wife of ESPN's Sports Guy, Bill Simmons) has recapped the drama. Follow the link to continue reading The Scoop's complete guide to last night's gripping episode of The Bachelor …

The Bachelor Hometown Visits: An Exclusive Preview

The stakes couldn't be higher when Andy Baldwin moves out of the yacht to travel across America for the famed hometown visits on The Bachelor.

Hunky Bachelor

Yes, it's time for Amber, Bevin, Danielle and Tessa to take him to visit their families. In snowy Connecticut, Danielle Imwalle's loving family tries to protect their fragile daughter.

Because she suffered a heartbreaking tragedy when her college boyfriend passed away, the adoring family of Danielle, a.k.a. Dead Boyfriend Girl, wants to be sure she's not headed for another catastrophic event.

Then, at a romantic waterfall setting in Seattle, Bevin Powers takes a real risk, catching Andy Baldwin completely off guard by revealing a secret from her past.

What could it be?

On his next date, the Bachelor visits Tessa Horst in Washington, D.C., with the challenging mission of attempting to win over her skeptical family, while also trying to capture this bachelorette's elusive heart.

Finally, when Andy visits the lovely Amber Alchalabi in Texas, she panics about whether her family will agree to meet him. In a last ditch effort to save the day, Amber calls her aunt and makes a plea for her to join them.

Seemingly unsuccessful, the call leaves Amber Alchalabi in tears and Andy concerned. But the surprise arrival of her aunt changes everything.

Back in Los Angeles, a startling rose ceremony ends in tears for a jilted young lady, while the emotional Lieutenant and Navy diver chooses the final three women to accompany him on the fantastic exotic dates.

Sounds like a lot to handle. As usual, we'll have an episode guide to The Bachelor up as soon as the intense drama pans out.

Amber Alchalabi Appearing On The Bachelor Gets Principal Demoted

The principal of the school where Amber Alchalabi teaches fourth grade has been demoted for allowing her to appear on The Bachelor.

Amber is one of the final four women remaining, along with Tessa Horst, Bevin Powers and Danielle Imwalle.

Her principal, Tammie Carpenter, "will be reassigned to another campus and demoted" to assistant principal, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Amber!

Amber Alchalabi will not be disciplined.

"The decision has angered many parents who support Principal Tammie Carpenter, saying she did nothing wrong in allowing Amber Alchalabi to miss 22 class days to tape the show," the Chronicle reports.

School officials said 10 of the missed days were unpaid.

Two vocal parents said earlier they were "lied to" about Amber's appearance on The Bachelor; Lesley White and Raquel Flores have kids in Amber's class.

According to the Chronicle:

"The district's decision to discipline Carpenter comes after school officials received at least two dozen messages in the past two weeks supporting her and the teacher."

Who would have guessed this would cause such a scene? One thing's for sure, though - Andy Baldwin is still hot for this teacher.

The Bachelor Final Four: Who Will Win Andy Baldwin's Heart?

When The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman makes its return, the final four would-be brides take Andy Baldwin to their homes to meet their families and further vie for his undying affections. The Scoop has been following the exciting 10th season of the reality TV hit from the get-go, and offers this guide to the remaining participants (and their odds to bring home the hunky man-bacon).

*******************************

Tessa Horst

Tessa Horst, a 26-year-old social worker who currently resides in San Francisco, Calif.

She's the odds-on favorite to win this thing, in the opinion of the Scoop staff writers.

"You look good in everything, Tessa," Andy Baldwin said on episode five, adding that he was glad he was able to show Tessa that she's a woman who's truly special to him.

As the two discussed the romantic sound of rain, Andy asked to be pinched. What a dweeb Andy is sometimes. Tessa Horst is a contender, though.

ODDS - 5:4

Bevin PowersBevin Powers, a 28-year-old clinic research coordinator who currently resides in Palo Alto, Calif. Bevin has said she felt "insecure" about her situation with Andy Baldwin, and has a hard time understanding how, given that The Bachelor was so keen on a "mature" 28-year-old like her, he could also be smitten by a 23-year-old like Amber.

She's a bit of a loose cannon, and has also been derided by The Bachelor observers (such as the Sports Gal) as an "ankle faker" after she pulled up lame in an early episode.

Did she do it to attract attention and elicit sympathy? To distract from the fact that she feels like she's in over her head? With Bevin Powers, no one can say for sure. She's probably history.

ODDS - 8:1

Amber Alchalabi

Amber Alchalabi, a 23-year-old teacher from Sugar Land, Texas. Despite Amber being a "little immature," Andy still knew that there was a connection between them.

You can just see how bad he wants to hit that. Not that we're blaming him... we're just saying that it can carry a Bachelor contestant awfully far.

Another good sign for her? The haters always come out when you're a favorite.

Amber has been a target of reality TV fashion cops, as well as her hometown - Amber's school district may wish to sever its ties with her after she allegedly lied when stating her reasons for a leave of absence to go on The Bachelor.

ODDS - 3:2
Danielle Imwalle
Danielle Imwalle, a 25-year-old graphic designer who currently resides in Bethel, Conn.

She's the true wild card here, as she's flown a little under the radar up until recently. Danielle Imwalle has realized her emotions are getting hard to control and admitted how much she wants to bring Andy Baldwin to her town to meet her parents. She'll get that chance... but will she make it pay off?

ODDS - 5:1

The Bachelor Episode Guide: Four Aspiring Trophy Wives Remain

Andy BaldwinThe 10th season of The Bachelor is heating up... heck, it's practically hotter than Kristine Lefebvre nude photos. Okay, not quite. Okay, not at all.

Still, the drama continues to mount on the reality TV hit. We've seen the departure of Alexis Young, Peyton Wright and, this week, two new bachelorettes (who got the boot to the surprise of no one).

Amber Alchalabi is still around, despite the controversy swirling regarding her hometown and school district. What three ladies will join her in the final four for next episode's hometown visits?

Once again, ESPN.com's Sports Gal (wife of ESPN's Sports Guy, Bill Simmons) has gone over the adventures of Andy Baldwin and his potential wives...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Bill Simmons] made a top-10 list of revelations you should never bring up if you're trying to win over The Bachelor.
I thought it was funny so I'm passing it along. He's enjoying this show way too much. He calls it the "I have to tell you something ... " list. In other words, I have to tell you something ...
Reality TV Fashion Police: Recent Highlights and Lowlights
When you're a low-rent reality TV star and looking to make a name for yourself... you damn well better look good. After all, no one's going to make you a trophy wife or give you a million bucks based on your brains or personality. Well, Survivor is a bit different. But whatever.
Here's a few reality TV fashion highs and lows from the past week ...
Pumkin
Pumkin (Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School)
Yes, the incorrectly spelled "Pumkin" revealed last week it was her right to fight! However, showing her back side and revealing what kind of undies she prefers? Yeah. This is a fashion don't. Keep your panties hidden, babe. Mo'Nique would surely concur.
Schatar (Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School)
Look. Ladies. If we are going to try and impress Mr. Winery himself, don't you think you should wear heels that you can actually walk in? Seriously, girl. Lose the heels, try flats. Do something. So you can walk. God.
Amber Alchalabi (The Bachelor)
One way to insure you will be getting a rose: go on a solo date, jump in a hot tub wearing a cute little bikini and shake that thang! Obviously, Andy Baldwin wants to hit that piece. Therefore, this is a fashion "do." Amber Alchalabi might not receive such a positive response from her home town, though.
Yau Da Man!
Yau Man (Survivor)
Another fashion "do," as you don't have to be Jeff Probst to know that a hat is a must-have item on the islands.
Yau Man knows how to rock that hat, which is one of the reasons for his success in Fiji. He is always cool, calm and collected on Survivor - more so than the just-departed Mookie - and there's no doubt that this stylin' and practical head accessory has something to do with it.
Andy Baldwin Hot For Teacher; Texas School District Not
One of the reasons The Bachelor star Andy Baldwin kept Amber Alchalabi around as one of his nine remaining bachelorettes is because she loves (and works with) children and he's looking to start a family.
Amber Alchalabi
But it appears the 23-year-old fourth-grade teacher from Sugar Land, Tex., is in hot water for leaving her class when it needed her most - as well as being dishonest about why she left.
Several parents of students now in Amber Alchalabi's fourth-grade class at Colony Bend Elementary School have expressed their displeasure that the teacher misled them as to why she was taking a month off, Houston's KHOU-TV reports.
In addition to telling the principal she took a month off to "care for a sick aunt" instead of coming clean about traveling to Los Angeles to film the 10th season of The Bachelor, she also gone during a key time in her students' academic year.
"They were in the middle of studying for the [Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)] test. While she was gone they took their writing TAKS test," fourth-grade parent Raquel Flores told KHOU.
Parent Lesley White said "kids are being exploited" so Amber Alchalabi could try to find true love on The Bachelor.
According to the news station, administrators from Fort Bend Independent School District were apparently unaware about Alchalabi's absence during TAKS testing, though the principal signed-off on her leave of absence. A substitute was brought in.
