Adam Lambert Performance of the Week: "Cryin"

For the first time this season, Adam Lambert may not have given the best American Idol performance.

That honor likely belongs to Kris Allen this week, following a unique, incredible version of Kanye West's "Heartless."

Still, Lambert shined as always. Kara DioGuardi summed it up by telling him: "We'll see you at the finals."

Watch him belt out the Aerosmith classic "Cryin" below:

Simon Cowell Forecasts Adam Lambert Victory

Every week, Simon Cowell is the voice of reason on American Idol.

Based on his prediction yesterday on The Oprah Winfrey Show, we think (and sincerely hope) the judge is speaking the truth once again.

Asked about who would win this season, Cowell pointed to Adam Lambert as the clear favorite.

“He’s got that ‘it,’” Simon told Oprah. “He’s got swagger.”

Simon Cowell Such a Talent

Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle was also featured on yesterday's show.

Cowell wished her “best of luck” in that competition, but also warned: “She’s got to sing better than she’s ever sung before,” if she wants to win.

Adam Lambert Performance of the Week: "Whole Lotta Love"

A week after somehow falling into the bottom two on American Idol, Adam Lambert bounced back in a major way last night.

The singer performed a Led Zeppelin original, "Whole Lotta Love," as that title also described how the judges felt about Lambert rendition. Randy Jackson said it should put to rest talk that Adam is somehow a one-note Broadway performer.

Adam Lambert Performance of the Week: "Feeling Good"

Everyone on American Idol brought his/her A game last night.

All five finalists performed solid Rat Pack renditions, while even guest mentor Jamie Foxx offered helpful advice, while displaying impressive passion, to each singer.

Still, the evening belonged to Adam Lambert. Again.

Closing the broadcast, Lambert was dressed in a white suit as he made his way down the staircase on set. From there, he belted out a passionate version of "Feeling Good." We really can't do it justice.

Just watch the performance for yourself:

Adam Lambert Performance of the Week: "If I Can't Have You"

Having already rocked out to a disco night song this season on American Idol, Adam Lambert broke it down like only he can last night.

The front-running favorite turned "If I Can't Have You" into a beautiful, emotional ballad, earning more praise from the judges and another standing ovation from the crowd.

Watch for yourself:

Adam Lambert: Born to Be Wild

We've pretty much stopped covering American Idol as a show this season.

Instead, we just highlight the performance of Adam Lambert each week because, come on. He's simply incredible.

This week, the seven finalists sang songs from a variety of movies. Aptly, Lambert went with "Born to Be Wild." Needless to say, it was the best of the night...

It's a Mad World for Adam Lambert on American Idol

Welcome to Adam Lambert's "Mad World," American Idol fans.

How does it feel to be living in it?

The incredible singer performed the underrated Tears for Fears classic on last night's show... and received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell for it! Has that ever happened before?

Incredible Performance

It's nothing but a "Mad World" for Adam Lambert. We merely live in it.

It's saying a lot, but many believe this was Lambert's top audition of the competition. Judge for yourself below:

Adam Lambert: The Tracks of His Incredible Tears

A handful of singers put on solid performances for last night's Motown-themed American Idol.

We enjoyed the auditions of Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen and Matt Giraud.

But no one stood out like Adam Lambert. He actually went acoustic for his rendition of "Tracks of My Tears," as it took us a few moments to even recognize the singer. Check out his slicked-back look:

Motown Performance

You simply must watch this performance. Can we hand Lambert the title now?

Adam Lambert Rules the Night on American Idol

Last night was Michael Jackson night on American Idol. Each singer auditioned with a hit by the King of Pop.

In actuality, though, it was Adam Lambert night.

The theatrical performer caused Paula Abdul to cry - and Simon Cowell to label him as being in a league by himself - following an incredible rendition of "Black and White." The crowd gave him a prolonged standing ovation.

Also impressive, and a lock for next week: Danny Gokey and Lil Rounds.

Sadly, previous fan favorites such as Anoop Desai and Jorge Nunez were let-downs last night, failing to impress with their versions of "Beat It" and "Never Can Say Goodbye," respectively. We're afraid one of them might be sent home tonight.

A Rousing RenditionAn Amazing Performance

Who is your preferred finalist: Danny Gokey or Adam Lambert?

A Few Words from the Latest American Idol Finalists

One-half of the eventual 12 finalists on American Idol have been chosen.

Last week, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert became the latest trio to receive the nod from viewers.

Following the news that they had advanced to the finals, each of the aspiring singers took part in a conference call with reporters. Here are a few highlights from it:

Kris Allen, on lack of airtime prior to semifinal audition: "I wasn't looking for the cameras and trying to put my face in there."

Adam Lambert, on being pigeonholed as a theater performer: "I don't listen to show tunes on my downtime"

Allison Iraheta, on experience of winning "Quinceanera", a 2006 Telemundo contest: "It helped me out with being on the stage in front of cameras a little. [But] it's nothing compared to this."
