Melissa Rycroft finished first on season 13 of The Bachelor... sort of.
She earned the final rose from Jason Mesnick, only to have it taken away when he dumped her on national TV. To make matters worse, he pretty much exchanged Melissa for another suitor on the show.
It was rough going for awhile for this former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. But she bounced back, thanks to support from a country of angry viewers.
She also earned a spot on season eight of Dancing with the Stars. Not a bad consoliation prize! Her partner was veteran Tony Dovolani, as the pair finished third.
In June 2009, it was announced that Rycroft had landed the gig of an occasional correspondent with Good Morning America.

Melissa - you dodged a huge bullet. It was humiliating, but in the end, you're so lucky....he's an emotional train wreck with no balls. You will do SO MUCH BETTER.

Look at the facts. He had been through how many relationships/marriages that failed? You said it perfectly on the show - Jason didn't fight for what he had committed to (marriage). He saw problems, had doubts, etc, but in the end he backed out. I think had he chosen Molly, there would be a special after the rose ceremony where he is asking YOU for a 2nd chance. Whatever he does, if he ever gets married again, the broken record of his life will prove a prophetic indicator that he just doesn't know his own self. You are awesome Melissa, we all knew he would choose you becuase you were the best candidate. Molly was great too, but you have that extra spark - I wish you the best. You are great.

Melissa, you are amazing. you are gorgeous and have an amazing heart. all of us fell in love with you. you deserve all of the happiness in the world and i am sure u will be truly blessed and will get all of what you deserve. G-d bless you and your soul forever. Be glad you got away from jason. He is a sorry excuse for a man and simply a joke. he has take this entire bachelor thing too far and furthermore, you donot want a man like that as ur husband or the father of ur children. you are beautiful and amazing. everything you said, felt everyway you acted showed the pureness in your heart. Melissa, have you ever given any thought to this???? When Jason said good bye to Molley and he walked her out. Molley mentioned he would get hurt by you may be Jason had this on his mind and heart what "Molley" said to him and not "Molley."
I don't think much of Molley for this and maybe if she just accepted he had chosen you over her it would of given you both the best chance for love and success without her.

Well i guess you know what will say Jason fooled us all and that shows me hes a butt head in a man. I know he feel like he did the right thing but did he do what is best for his son Ty I think he did it wrong why didn't just pick molly i know he wanted to be a good poper guy but think he hurt the rating I hope people will watch the one in may with Jillian the next bachelorette Jason I don't know how you sleep with yourself hurting people you were wrong son

Melissa what happened to you well you didnt deserve it. I really dont like Jason he is a fake! He wasnt able to even give a shot to you. Molly was stuck up just as much as Jason! You have a heart of gold! LOVE YOU!

King of Idiots. Not only is he stupid but he's lacking in
character. No girl deserves the treatment you endured. You
have depicted enormous deplomacy and lady like treatment of
the entire escopade. If I were only 40 years younger, I'd
