I have a feeling that she did care for Jeff in a very real way. I think that Jeff and his family were no fools and knew what was happening in Gretchen's life. He wanted to go out with a foxy chick by his side. Even with his being sick he wanted to looked like the "Silver Fox".
So, who was using who? It sounds like this Jay guy did not get any airtime and got upset. If he truly cared for her he would have let the story go on as Jeff and Gretchen portrayed themselves. I can see a guy like Jeff wanting the world to see him as we saw him portrayed. Gretchen visited him everyday per Jay himself. Watching someone die is not an easy thing to do.I think all the housewives no matter how much money they have, want to be a "star".
No one is better or worse when it comes to any of the HOUSEWIVES. The infamous 15 MINUTES OF FAME can be found in the most unlikely people. That is what makes them so interesting to watch and judge. Remember when Cher was blasted when she did those hair product commercial? Now everyone is allowed to put their life on TV. I think Gretchen most likely is a gal that knows how to sell herself.
For some reason the single gal is always the most reliable to look like a gold digger. It is funny that the women who do work are or were married to wealthy famous men, and then they become Realtors. It is my opinion that a woman in reality/real estate is a synonym for ex-wife.

SHE IS GROSS!! The way she partied it up when her "fiance"/ actually more like a client was dying of cancer was gross. If you are going to be a prostitute on television at least have some decency about how you conduct yourself.
Also she needs to have someone fix those horse teeth of hers. Was she crossbred with a buck tooth rabbit and a horse!

Gretchen was on Real housewives first season as a Real Estate agent. Today I just saw Gretchen and Jeff on HGTV 'Get out, way out' An old show where they got their backyard redone. I find it interesting that she keeps showing up on these shows portrayed as a real person. The fact that she keeps showing up on different networks in different guises leads me to believe that she is just acting and the whole thing is a fictional set up and that includes HGTV.
