Wedding, Dating Drama Dominate The Hills

Brad Womack dismissing DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft wasn't the only drama on the reality TV landscape last night. Far from it, reality TV fans. Far from it.

On last night's episode of The Hills, the conniving Spencer Pratt got all kinds of uncomfortable as Heidi Montag dragged him to a nice church to discuss their "dream" upcoming wedding. His response? Booking a honeymoon suite in Last Vegas, without telling her, and planning on eloping! Heidi Montag? Not thrilled.

Big smiles from Heidi Montag were in short supply last night.

Elsewhere, Lauren Conrad hit the gym with friends Whitney Port and Audrina Partridge. Whitney not only pumped some iron - she got pumped up when she scored a date a guy with their seemingly nice trainer, Jarett!

The Hills: Alive with Lauren, Heidi Fighting Yet Again

Last night on The Hills, the main subject matter was - take a guess here - the ol' Lauren Conrad sex tape rumors. Amazing! Who would have imagined!?

This time, though, Lauren and Heidi finally had it out face to face at a Declare Yourself event and later at LC's apartment - where Heidi used to live.

Heidi sort of apologized - without really saying if Spencer Pratt was involved or not - while Lauren told Heidi she's willing to forgive her... and forget her.

The Hills Drama

Spencer & Heidi vs. Lauren: A rivalry rekindled.

Oh, snap. Meanwhile, the now broken-up Justin Brescia (a.k.a. Justin-Bobby) and Audrina Patridge were having problems at the same time Audrina's career at Epic Records is finally getting off the ground. Good for Audrina! Bad for J-Bobby!

That's just a start. For all the details and commentary on last night's drama, follow this link to our sister site's exclusive recap of The Hills ...

The Hills: 21st Birthday Boredom, a Teen Vogue Triumph

Despite the best efforts of Heidi Montag to convince viewers (and herself) that a quiet dinner with Spencer Pratt was all she needed on her 21st b-day, even the most phony star on reality TV couldn't see this one.

Seriously, do these two have any friends at all? And did Spencer Pratt actually pay for that Chanel purse? We highly doubt it. The scene at the end where he is furiously texting someone and ignoring a silent Heidi, though? Priceless.

The Hills Girls

Luckily, not everyone is as painful and boring as Heidi Montag. Some of the girls on The Hills actually do stuff! Audrina Patridge and Justin-Bobby saw a band - one of the members of which checked her out - while Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port successfully ran a huge Teen Vogue fashion show and party event.

As was the case a week ago, we loved seeing LC and Whitney in action doing Teen Vogue stuff, rather than just gossiping or clubbing. Justin-Bobby Brescia may also be giving Spencer Pratt a serious run for Douchebag of the Year honors.

Audrina Patridge: The Hills is So Real!

So is The Hills fake? Not according to star Audrina Patridge, who's saying that from her perspective, the quote-unquote reality series is so not fake!

"Everything is real," Patridge told People at Hpnotiq's Hollywood Halloween Party at Les Deux last week. "[Lauren Conrad] and me are real friends. We live in our apartment. That's real, like, where we work, everything. The situations are real."

But Audrina Patridge added the fact that The Hills stars seem to love to party at Les Deux - a trendy nightclub - is the product of a nudge from producers.

"I mean, [the producers] might be kinda like, 'Okay, we want you to go to Les Deux tonight,' so we go and whatever happens, happens," Patridge said. "And they might do things to tweak it a bit, but our reactions... it's totally real. It's reality TV."

Audrina Patridge, Justin-Bobby Brescia

While Audrina Patridge may claim the situations are real, sources say she wouldn't have reunited with her current beau, Justin Brescia, if not for The Hills.

"The producers encouraged her to start dating on the show, and she called Justin," a source told In Touch Weekly. "But it's not about the show now."

The romantic relationship between engaged The Hills couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt is also apparently as real as it gets. Or something.

Neither is Spencer's feud with Brody Jenner.

"It's not a publicity stunt, it's legit," Jenner told In Touch about his recent falling out with Pratt. "But I wish him nothing but the best."

There is also no well-wishing between Montag and Conrad anytime soon as the pair is "preparing for a big blowout," which doesn't sound fake at all.

"They're gearing up for the cat fight to end all cat fights," an insider told In Touch. "Their confrontation will be on the season finale of The Hills and be huge."

The Hills: Working in N.Y., Feuding in SoCal

Spencer Pratt is perhaps the biggest tool in America. Brody Jenner has some great hair. Lauren Conrad looked really damn hot and even professional in her work trip to Manhattan, and the amazing Whitney Port more than held her own in front of the Teen Vogue brain trust during her big presentation. And that was that.

Audrina Patridge and Heidi Montag were not featured on screen at all last night, but it was still a great episode of The Hills. Man, you have to love a good Spencer Pratt sulk-fest, as much as you despise this smarmy individual. Acting so cool when he's the farthest thing from it? If it's all staged, he does a damn good job at it.

The Repulsive Spencer PrattBrody Jenner

It was nice to see the Brody-Spencer feud (as opposed to the Lauren-Heidi feud) in focus for a change of pace. We also loved seeing LC and Whitney doing work, rather than just gossiping or clubbing. Click here for a thorough recap of The Hills.

The Hills: A Rating Success

LCWe told you: people love a cat fight!

As Lauren Conrad grabbed lunch (and smiled for the camera, seen here) with Laguna Beach's Trey Phillips, she could be happy with the results her argument with Heidi Montag earned in the ratings department.

Across the board, the show averaging over 3.6 million viewers. Here are other details:

  • The Hills was the highest rated program for the night among the 12-34 demographic across all of cable and within its 10-11pm time period.
  • The Hills season three premiere hour was the highest rated telecast of the year-to-date for MTV, also making it the highest rated telecast of The Hills franchise.
  • The season three premiere out-did season one's premiere by 20% and season two's premiere by 44%.

So, say what you want about Spencer Pratt, but the man can garner ratings.

The Hills are Alive with the Sounds of Lauren/Heidi Catfighting

We've waited months for the third season of The Hills to premiere on MTV. Because it's been covered so extensively on celebrity gossip blogs around the nation all summer, however, our staff was mostly aware of the main events that transpired last night.

Lauren Conrad Pic Nevertheless, it's always fun to watch an old fashioned cat fight. And Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag did not disappoint. After all, you can't go wrong with a quote such as this:

"I literally feel, like, one of my friends… died."
- LC

Onto the recap!

Whitney Port - now a full-time employee and Lauren's supervisor at Teen Vogue - and Audrina Partridge are so on Team LC, while Montag's devilish boyfriend, Spencer Pratt, is Team Heidi's president, vice president, and PR coordinator.

Giving the people what they want, MTV began the year with an argument we knew happened, but have been wanting to see on film for moths, as a tipsy Lauren - enraged over rumors of her sex tape making the rounds - and Heidi hurled insults at each other outside Les Deux.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Banned from Premiere of The Hills

The Hills doesn't premiere until Monday - but the drama is already in full swing.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were banned from attending the MTV show's post-premiere party Wednesday night in L.A. due to the couple's escalating feud with costars Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge.

The Hills Drama While MTV allowed the gruesome twosome (Pratt and Montag) to walk on the red carpet, "they were not allowed to be at the party while Lauren was here," a source told Us Weekly, who added that extra security was also brought on.

Another source says that MTV "suspended" Spencer and Heidi from doing any more media to promote The Hills after their trash-talking interview on Monday with a Philadelphia radio station.

While chatting with talk show hosts on Q102 FM, Pratt called Conrad a "stupid girl" who is just using the couple to draw attention to herself. "She's the douche, the psycho," he said.

After that, Heidi Montag added: "I never could be friends with some lowlife like that."

The insider says that after the interview, MTV nearly canceled the couple's appearance on On the Air With Ryan Seacrest Wednesday morning, but allowed them to do one last interview with the KIIS FM show.

For now, however, "they are on a [celebrity gossip] blackout," says the source.

Another insider says that MTV has decided to gag all parties - including Conrad and Patridge - on the subject matter. "Tensions were so high, MTV decided to shut it all down," says the source.

"Spencer crossed a line with several things he said. And fans of the show take it all so seriously, people were starting to worry about security concerns on all sides."

The Hills Alive With Drama: Heidi Montag Crashes LC's Scenes

Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag Fight! Season 3 is still being filmed, but The Hills are already alive with the sounds of drama.

The new issue of Us Weekly claims that Heidi Montag is crazy to get more publicity and is so eager for more face time on the hit reality TV show that she's been crashing scenes she's not invited to.

Specifically, shots involving Lauren Conrad.

"Heidi's been showing up at shoots uninvited," a source says.

"She knows her best chance for air time next season [premiering in August] is to get into scenes with Lauren."

So let's get this straight. Heidi ditches Lauren for a guy, something she said she'd never do, but shows up whenever LC is supposed to be on screen. Now that's classy.

The drama built up after Montag, 20 - who recently got engaged to Spencer Pratt, 23 - clashed with Lauren Conrad, 21, at L.A. club Les Deux.

"Lauren was screaming, 'You're pathetic!'" says a witness. "Lauren was waving her hands around wildly, saying she couldn't deal with Heidi."

But Montag's rep (who may or may not be Spencer Pratt), told Us Weekly that the actress and her new boob job were chasing neither Lauren nor drama.

"Heidi's recording her album. She doesn't have time to chase Lauren."

Yes, Heidi Montag is recording an album. Better pre-order it now, because it is likely to be a landmark musical event for our generation.

The Apocalypse is Near: Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Engaged

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are EngagedJust when you thought it couldn't get any more sickening...

... Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are engaged!

The 23-year-old Pratt popped the question to the 20-year-old Montag on Tuesday night at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara.

An Us Weekly source close to Heidi and Spencer reports they are thrilled, and adds: "She said 'yes.' She's over the moon!"

Expect staged photos of their happy engagement any second now.

The stars of The Hills, whose gross courtship was chronicled last season on the hit MTV reality TV series, have been dating for eight months.

Spencer Pratt purchased a diamond-encrusted platinum band with a pink stone on Monday at Ice at Brentwood Gardens before presenting Heidi Montag with a bended-knee proposal, according to a source.

An eyewitness at the store says, "She was trying on tons of them and they looked really happy!"

Heidi was formerly a close friend and roommate of The Hills star Lauren Conrad until Pratt caused a rift between the two and lured Montag away from LC's pad and into his dungeon.

Soon after moving in with Pratt, Montag got a boob job and nose job, while Audrina Patridge moved into Lauren's apartment in Heidi's place.

The couple has not yet set a wedding date, but don't think the PR guru won't keep us well aware of it throughout the planning.
