On this episode of The Hills, Lauren Conrad starts to think her relationship with Doug is fizzling out. It's not that she doesn't like him or think he's attractive, she's just not excited by her romance.
Whitney Port gives her good advice: if she's not feelin' it, it's better to get out early. She'll have to have that dreaded conversation with him and throw the friend card down on the table.
Once Whitney is done dishing out advice, she heads to New York City to meet up with Kelly Cutrone at the east coast People's Revolution office. It doesn't take her long to meet Alex, a good looking model!
At dinner, Spencer Pratt tells Heidi Montag that he will never be close with his sister again. The day he becomes friends with Stephanie, he says, is the day he becomes friends with LC! In other words, not soon.
When Heidi expresses that she misses Stephanie Pratt, he tells her that she shouldn't come home if she plans on rekindling a friendship with her.
Elsewhere in town, Lauren and Brody Jenner share a meal. He warns her about trusting Stephanie and she confides that Doug is gonna get dumped.
Whitney meets up with Alex for drinks, after Kelly Cutrone awkwardly sets things up for her. Things go fairly well and the two decide to extend the evening with a little walk around New York.
The night doesn't end with a kiss but they do promise to meet up again next time she's in town. Could a Whitney romance be in the works?
Back in California, Stephanie brings a peace offering to Spencer to try to repair their broken relationship. He accepts the gift but takes a shot at her about her friendship with Lauren.
Lauren drives over to Doug's house to break things off. Understandably, he gets defensive and doesn't seem to understand why she doesn't want to make things work. In the end, he takes it well. Or at least as well as one can on The Hills.
