Premiere Date Announced for The Bachelorette

Spurned by Jason Mesnick (though nowhere near as badly as Melissa Rycroft), Jillian Harris is ready to find love again on The Bachelorette.

ABC has announced the premiere date for the next installment of this franchise. It will debut with a two-hour episode on Monday night, May 18.

Ready for Love

If at first you don't succeed at finding love on a reality TV show, in front of cameras and alongside men you've known for a few weeks, try, try again!

When first asked about taking on the role of The Bachelorette, Harris replied:

"Part of me says, 'Jill, stop while you are ahead. Now that you have done this and learned a lot about yourself, do it the old-fashioned way.' The old-fashioned way hasn't really been working for me, so the other part of me says, 'Jill, just go ahead and do it. You are an adventure seeker. Give it a shot and maybe you can find him that way.'"

Will it happen for Jillian? We'll certainly be tuning in to find out!

Trista Sutter, Husband Ryan Welcome Baby No. 2!

According to Life & Style Weekly, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette star Trista Sutter and husband Ryan Sutter welcomed their second child yesterday.

Trista gave birth to a little baby girl named Blakesley Grace Sutter, who weighing in at a healthy six pounds, two ounces on Friday afternoon in Colorado.

"She's healthy. Everything is really good," Trista Sutter said.

Ryan and Trista Sutter

Blakesley is the couple's second child. They are also parents to a son, Maxwell Alston Sutter, a.k.a. Max Sutter, who will be two years old in July.

The couple wed in 2003 after Trista chose Ryan as the winner of The Bachelorette. They are still the only couple from the show to get married.

Although perhaps Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney will change that. We sort of doubt it, as the shows are a combined 1-16, but who knows.

Source: "Edgier" Jillian Harris Coming to The Bachelorette

Will the sweet, kind and genuine Jillian Harris who sought Jason Mesnick's love on The Bachelor be replaced by a man-eating, manipulative tease when she becomes Canada's first star of The Bachelorette this spring?

An insider tells OK! that Jillian is “getting her edge on” before filming starts later this month and that we may see a naughty side of her that's surprising.

“Everyone who saw Jillian got the idea that she is a goody-two-shoes,” the source says. “They will reveal that she’s capable of creating controversy."

"The producers would love it if The Bachelorette ends as dramatically as The Bachelor.” We're sure they would. And who are we kidding, so would we.

ROLE REVERSAL: Jillian Harris will be turning the tables as The Bachelorette.

Jillian Harris, a 29-year-old interior designer, was a fan favorite on The Bachelor, but a source says she may not be a fan favorite by the time she’s down to her final choice, since it’s all about ratings (maybe you noticed).

“You may see her lying to the guys, misleading them about what she’s really looking for," says the insider. We're certainly curious if this is true.

Family of Jillian Harris Pumped For The Bachelorette

Relatives of the first Canadian Bachelorette, Jillian Harris, are proud of their girl and keeping their hopes up that she'll find reality TV love this summer.

"I hope she finds that best friend she is looking for, her soulmate," said aunt Mona Harris from the family's quaint home town of Peace River, Alberta.

"She's got a good personality; she's a good person and she's got a good job. I think she'll do just great," her uncle Mark Harris told the Edmonton Sun.

Jillian's rising stardom has become the talk of the town since she was named the star of the fifth installment of The Bachelorette last Tuesday night.

On The Bachelor, the fan favorite came in third behind Melissa Rycroft, who won but was son dumped, and Molly Malaney, who's now with Jason.

Jason Mesnick dumped her, but now the tables are turned and it will be Jillian Harris, 29, who will have her pick of 25 eligible suitors as The Bachelorette.

Given how The Bachelor turned out, Jillian's parents think it was a blessing in disguise that their daughter was eliminated before the final rose ceremony.

"Jillian realizes there is no guarantee, but sometimes magic happens," her mother Peggy said. "I'm not sure what Jillian considers her odds to be, but I guess no different than meeting someone at the gym. It'll be interesting."

While Jillian Harris is under orders not to speak to media about the show, she indicated in a press release that she is confident she will find love starring on The Bachelorette, which debuts Monday, May 18 on ABC.

Jillian Harris: The Bachelorette!

Nearly lost in the shuffle after The Bachelor controversy surrounding Jason Mesnick, Melissa Rycroft and Molly Malaney was this awesome news: Jillian Harris - who finished in third place - will be the star of The Bachelorette!

"I am so excited," said Harris, 29, an interior designer from Canada, jokingly thanking Jason for giving her the chance to have 25 men compete for her.

"It's a very unorthodox way to find love, but we are living in a world where people are doing things differently," Jillian said. "It's a great opportunity."

"Seeing what Jason went through makes you realize there's no guarantees in life," Jillian Harris added. "I hope I make the right choice the first time."

The Bachelor: Jillian

Jillian also made one promise about the new season, referencing her hot scenes with Jason: "I don't need my dad to see any more hot tub scenes."

As The Bachelorette star, Jillian follows DeAnna Pappas, who of course rejected Jason Mesnick on The Bachelor finale after being left at the altar by Brad Womack on the previous Bachelor finale. This show rules.

The Bachelor and The Bachelorette host Chris Harrison said that Harris has "really captured America's heart and the groundswell of support for her to become the new Bachelorette was overwhelming."

Jesse Csincsak: Don't Hate on Jason Mesnick

Fans undoubtedly remember Jesse Csincsak as Jason Mesnick's rival for the love and affection of DeAnna Pappas on ABC's The Bachelorette.

Now, Jesse weighs in on Jason's turn on The Bachelor this season. Here's what the pro snowboarder had to say in a recent interview ...

Q: First of all, you are in a new relationship?

Jesse Csincsak: Yes, I'm dating Holly Durst from the previous season of The Bachelor. I'm psyched. She's cute and outgoing and fun to be with.

Q: So, how did you guys get together?

Jesse Csincsak: We met at a party in California, and I was actually still in my previous relationship. Holly had some interest in going to grad school in Boulder, Colorado. Once I wasn't in a relationship anymore, I shot her a text message and said, “Hey, you know, if you still are looking for a tour of Boulder and the college, I'd love to go down there with you.” She ended up coming out and going snowboarding, and it's all history from there.

Q: I don't know if you've been reading the blogs, but The Bachelor spoilers about the end of this season are pretty huge ...

Jesse Csincsak: My view on that is, hey, no matter what the outcome is, as long as Jason finds his true love, for him and Ty, more power to him. You know, I don't care what he has to do to be in love. You can't hate on the guy.

Montana Fan Works to Make Jesse Csincsak The Bachelor

Ever since hundreds of The Bachelorette fans successfully flooded ABC with demands that Jason Mesnick become the next Bachelor, fans of the show seem to think that they now call the shots when it comes to casting.

Case in point: A Montana grandmother is determined to make Jesse Csincsak - who DeAnna Pappas selected over Mesnick, only to break off their engagement a few months later - the star of The Bachelor, following in the footsteps of Jason.

Lynn Pinkerton feels that she can help Jesse Csincsak move on by putting him back on reality TV to find love. It's an infallible strategy.

“They did this with The Bachelor on there right now, Jason Mesnick from Seattle, to get him on there,” she said. “They had 1,600 signatures for him.”

The Bachelorette: Jesse

Believe it not, Pinkerton says that she never even watched The Bachelorette until she spotted Jesse on the most recent season premiere of the show.

“He’s completely different from anybody else I saw on there,” Pinkerton said. “I just kind of started watching it and got hooked on it.”

After finding out that Csincsak and Pappas broke up, she came up with the idea to start an online petition to get him on The Bachelor.

Chris Harrison Discusses The Bachelor, The Bachelorette

It's a good time to be The Bachelorette.

After years of choosing her from among the contestants who don't find a love connection on The Bachelor, ABC's hit reality TV spin-off is conducting its first-ever search for a female star of the series.

Chris Harrison, the host of both shows, talked to TV Guide about the search, and about the next season of The Bachelor, starring Jason Mesnick.

The happily married Harrison also talked about DeAnna and Jesse, finding love on TV, and whether we'll ever see a gay Bachelor or Bachelorette.

TV Guide.com: What are the qualities you're looking for in the next Bachelorette?

Chris Harrison: It's hard to answer that because really, there's no set picture. We've had rich, we've had poor, we've had famous athletes, actors, we've had it all. So we're not exactly looking for a type. It's just somebody who's willing to take this leap of faith, who's obviously ready to commit and ready for a relationship. Honestly, you really never know what we're looking for and we never know until we find it. There's really not this set picture that we go into casting and say that's it - the blond-haired, blue-eyed six foot model. Because that's not necessarily what we want.

DeAnna Pappas and Chris Harrison

THE MEDIATOR: Chris Harrison with last season's star, DeAnna Pappas.

TV Guide.com: There must be a huge number of women who see this as a big break and want to be famous more than they want to meet the right guy. How do you weed them out?

Chris Harrison: When it's The Bachelor and it's 25 women, you do get your share of that. It's impossible not to. But I always love that aspect of the show because we don't - it's not a game show. There's no big prize at the end. So it's really up to the Bachelor to find those girls and weed them out. That's part of life. There's always girls in relationships for the wrong reason. When we're looking for The Bachelorette, that's kind of our job. Does she just want to be a model, or does she really want to get into movies or whatever. I have found that when we've done the Bachelorette they are even more sincere when they come into this than the guys are.
