JT Torregiani Won't Be The Next Bachelor

They broke up earlier this year, but Paula Abdul and her restaurateur ex-boyfriend JT Torregiani have been quietly reconnecting.

The reality TV consequence? JT Torregiani, 33, was in talks to possibly become ABC's next star of The Bachelor. But he's decided to drop it.

Torregiani is still working long hours at Beso, a Latin-themed restaurant and bar, which has built a sizable contingent of celebrity patrons.

JT Torregiani

He didn't want to leave for three months to film The Bachelor - and maybe his relationship with the American Idol host played into it as well.

Now that he's out, we see three leading contenders to become the 13th star of The Bachelor - all of whom DeAnna Pappas rejected on The Bachelorette. Which would you most like to see get a second chance ...

Shayne Lamas: I Did Not Cheat!

Their engagement has ended, but former Bachelor fiancée Shayne Lamas says she totally plans on keeping the engagement ring she scored.

In the first interview since announcing her split from The Bachelor star Matt Grant, Lamas says “I have it and will keep it forever for the rest of my life. It’s safe and clean and in a glass box like a glass slipper.”

Fans of The Bachelor watched Grant get down on one knee and present the ring to Shayne Lamas, who won the final rose on the show's 12th season.

But a month after the episode aired, the two were no longer living together, making the series 0-for-12 in terms of marriages produced.

Shayne Lamas

Shayne Lamas denies two-timing Matt, which she's been accused of.

“I did not cheat on Matt Grant,” insists Lamas. “I would never, ever cheat on Matt. He was my fiancé.”

The break-up came on the heels of reports that Lamas was spotted in Vegas with Justin Weneger. But Lamas says they'd already split.

Yet another Bachelor heartbreak. Hopefully DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak actually make it to the altar. We have faith in our girl D.

Finally: Shayne Lamas, Matt Grant Break Up

The love affair between British bachelor Matt Grant and his painful fiance, Shayne Llamas, has officially ended. It's shocking, we know.

Just two days after the New York Post reported that the whiny nympho was two-timing The Bachelor star with Las Vegas media mogul Justin Weneger, Lamas talked to Matt Grant and called it off - over the phone!

With Matt Grant getting dumped, The Bachelor stars are now 0-for-12!

Spies said the aspiring actress is planning a trip to see Weneger in Vegas again soon. Matt Grant, who moved from London to LA to be near his sweetie, is said to be devastated. Maybe next time he'll pick brains over beauty.

Bet Chelsea is looking pretty good right about now.

Jason Mesnick Considered for Upcoming Season of The Bachelor

Move over, Jeremy Anderson and J.T. Torregiani.

Recently heart-broken Jason Mesnick is also being considered for the new season of The Bachelor.

"We would be bona fide idiots not to consider him for the show," series host Chris Harrison said about the possibility of Mesnick having his pick of 25 desperate women. "He's on my short list."

Harrison added that, if Jason is chosen, son "Ty would have to take center stage," while hinting this could mean filming in Jason's hometown of Seattle. Heck, Harrison and and his wife even offered to baby-sit: "We have two kids, Ty would fit right in."

What do you think of Jason Mesnick being the next Bachelor?

The Bachelor to Return... Eventually

As if the rumor that Shayne Lamas cheated on Matt Grant wasn't difficult enough for fans of The Bachelor to take.

ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson has now revealed that the show has no return date planned.

Still, it is likely to begin a new season at some point.

“We’re actually looking for another bachelor and we’ll see how it goes,” he says. “I think for us, it’s a show that is good to rest and come back. I think the casting on that show is critical. I think a few years ago, when we kind of had a bit of a downturn, I think it was all about those personalities. People were not rooting for them.

So we want to make sure that we don’t just have it on the schedule, announce it, and then be like, ‘Oh, now we’ve got to find the guy.’ It’s also an advantage in the fact that we don’t need it on the fall schedule and it will be a backup for us going forward.”

Studly Brad Womack

Texas native Brad Womack was one of the more controversial stars of The Bachelor. He didn't choose anyone!

Rumored next bachelors include recent rejects Jeremy Anderson and Jason Mesnick, as well as J.T. Torregiani.

Do you have a preference? Who do you wanna see be the next hunk to choose a supposed soulmate and then break up with her three months later?

Shayne Lamas Two-Timing Matt Grant?

Once again, it looks like The Bachelor picked the wrong woman.

Last season's star, London native Matt Grant, actually picked Lorenzo Lamas' blond, ditzy daughter Shayne Lamas as his bride to be.

After Grant moved to L.A. to be near his honey, Lamas, a wannabe actress, set up photo shoots for paparazzi on a California beach.

Matt Grant? Far from pleased.

That's the least of his concerns, however.

First he moved out of her place.

Then, last Tuesday, Shayne Lamas hooked up with Las Vegas media magnate Justin Weneger at Blush in the Wynn. There were no photos of them but New York Post got the scoop anyway.

"Matt has no idea," said a source. "She hasn't dumped him yet."

At least when the hammer drops, Matt Grant and his BFF / fellow Bachelor has-been Andy Baldwin can get together and commiserate.

Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas: Not Broken Up Yet!

So far, no Bachelor couple has actually wed (Bachelorette star Trista Sutter did, however). But the show's latest lovers are determined to be first.

There is no wedding date set and he recently moved out of her place, but a source close to Shayne Lamas and Matt Grant say they are on track for a wedding. Will they make it to the altar soon? Ever? What do you think?

Will Shayne Lamas and Matt Grant break The Bachelor curse?

Jeremy Anderson: The Next Bachelor?

Rumors are flying that this week's bachelor eliminated by DeAnna Pappas, Jeremy Anderson, a 30-year-old real estate attorney from Dallas, Texas, will become the next star of The Bachelor when the series returns this fall.

Two weeks ago, Jeremy seemed conflicted about the idea of going through it again, according to Access Hollywood, and wasn't sure if ABC had interest.

Yesterday, though, reporters questioned whether or not he had thought about being the next star of The Bachelor and this time, Jeremy seemed more open.

"It was a great experience," Anderson said.

"It was probably the most enlightening thing I've ever done. I feel like I took more out of it than anyone."

Jeremy Anderson

This morning with the rumors growing louder, reporters questioned DeAnna Pappas on whether Jeremy Anderson would be a good pick as The Bachelor.

"Jeremy would make a great Bachelor because he has everything to offer. He is the perfect man," DeAnna Pappas said.

"He has a wonderful outlook on life and love. He has a great career ahead of him. He has a great dog. He has the total package."

Is he even available though? On a conference call, Jeremy Anderson admitted that he is currently dating someone but did not reveal who.

"I have started seeing someone," he said. "It was tough in the beginning and it was tough to get back out there because you can't really date while the show is going on. Once the show was over I could kind of explore the dating world in real life is a different universe to dating on TV."

Also rumored to be the next Bachelor? J.T. Torregiani.

J.T. Torregiani: The Next Bachelor?

While speculation has run rampant that recently rejected Bachelorette contestant Jeremy Anderson might be the next star of The Bachelor, a new contender has emerged.

The New York Post reports that J.T. Torregiani could enjoy this dishonor. Yes, the same J.T. Torregiani that recently got dumped by Paula Abdul.

Torregiani owns the New York City night club Butter. He met Abdul in April 2007 at a taping of American Idol and they began dating about a month later.

J.T. Torregiani dated Paula Abdul. Therefore, we know he's unstable enough to be The Bachelor.

Sources say that Torregiani "was asked [to be The Bachelor] a couple of years ago, but he got together with Paula so he didn't do it."

Now, he's supposedly reconsidering being on the show because "he wants to settle down, have kids, have a family," People Magazine said.

We wonder if Torregiani is aware that those series of events are yet to happen for a single Bachelor and his chosen mate. Not one.

Matt Grant, Shayne Lamas No Longer Living Together

The Bachelor star Matt Grant is no longer living with fiancée Shayne Lamas, though the British hunk insists that all is well with the two.

The couple have co-habitated at Shayne Lamas' Century City, Calif., place since The Bachelor Season 12 ended with the two getting engaged.

Shayne Lamas and Matt Grant

But Matt Grant moved because the two "need space to grow."

"I had to get my own life out here (in L.A.)... Get my career and friends and have my own circle. That's important in a relationship. That you are not entirely on top of someone."

The couple has been dogged by rumors of discord since their TV engagement, however, Matt Grant says that they are doing well overall.

This will give him more time for guys' nights out with Andy Baldwin, too, so really, everybody wins.
