The Bachelor, Matt Grant, is Serious About Family

ABC's upcoming star of The Bachelor, Matt Grant, is looking for love... and a wife, and the mother of his future children.

Matt Grant, 27, has a very close relationship with his father and credits him as being part of the reason he's in such a rush to start a family.

"My dad had a stroke at the end of 2006 and that really shook me. I want my kids to know my dad, because he was a great father and I want him to be a grandfather to them. I wouldn't mind having three or four kids," he told OK! Magazine.

Other than his accent, which he calls "geeky," Matt Grant doesn't see too much of a difference between British men and American men.

There are a few things that set them apart, though.

"We drink more tea and have crazy sports like cricket. I like to consider myself a British gentleman," he said.

Twenty-five lucky aspiring trophy wives will get to meet this British gentleman when The Bachelor returns to ABC on Monday, March 17.

There you have it! Matt Grant is the youngest of five brothers, all of whom are married and have families. Needless to say, he wants to join the club!

DeAnna Pappas is The Bachelorette!

After losing out on reality TV love on the last season of The Bachelor, the lovely DeAnna Pappas is ready for another go at it.

A real estate agent from Neunan, Ga., DeAnna will headline the next season of The Bachelorette, which will air this summer.

Maybe ABC saw our moving tribute to DeAnna Pappas!

DeAnna Pappas Picture

The 26-year-old endured a painful, last-minute rejection by Brad Womack on the controversial Bachelor season finale last November.

He had even flown her father in and implied he was going to pick her, but Womack rejected Pappas, as well as her adversary, Jenni Croft.

Sickening. But that's water under the bridge now. All we have to say is this: Best. Bachelorette. Ever. Welcome back, DeAnna Pappas!

A Tribute to DeAnna Pappas

There's nothing official about this DeAnna Pappas tribute - it's just a collection of highlights of DeAnna Pappas' stint on The Bachelor, compiled and edited by one of her many online fans. But we thought we'd share!

Take a look at this video and tell us that the strong, sassy, sexy DeAnna - who was inexplicably spurned on The Bachelor - shouldn't be the next Bachelorette!

DeAnna Pappas: The Next Bachelorette?

ABC recently announced that in addition to the new season of The Bachelor that will air this spring, The Bachelorette will return this summer.

DeAnna Pappas, who along with Jenni Croft was famously rejected on the last season finale of The Bachelor, is first on many lists of prime candidates for The Bachelorette. What kind of star would she make on this hit spin-off?

If she were to become The Bachelorette, DeAnna told BuddyTV:

"I would approach the experience with a very open mind. I would also do my best to try to be very understanding considering I would know exactly what the guys are going through! I will approach it with the hope of finding one amazing man that hopefully I can live happily ever after with in the end."

Seen here flirting with Brad Womack, DeAnna Pappas also talked about what kind of dates she would like to plan if she were The Bachelorette.

"[Brad Womack] told us he was able to help the producers with some of the ideas for the dates... the circus date, the pool date, etc. Those types of dates were my favorite because I am so a low key, easy to please person," she said.

"I'm not a very girly girl. Diamonds and fancy dresses don't impress me! Flowers either for that matter. I guess if I could choose the dates, I would love to go to a baseball game and drink beer! A football game even. Maybe something active like white water rafting or on a boat at the lake. That's real life for me."

Whether or not DeAnna Pappas becomes The Bachelorette is not known, but let Reality TV Scoop join the chorus of sites championing her candidacy.

DeAnna Pappas Tells Her Side of the Story

We heard from Brad Womack earlier. Now it's time to hear what DeAnna Pappas - one of the two women he shockingly rejected on The Bachelor finale - has to say about the ordeal. Here are excerpts from an interview she did with BuddyTV ...

BuddyTV: Now how long into the process did you really start to think that things could be serious with Brad Womack?

DeAnna Pappas: I knew from the first moment that I sat down and talked to Brad that we had a very strong connection. I truly felt that I was meant to be with this person. But it wasn't until he went to my hometown and Brad got to meet my family, that I realized I was actually falling in love with him.

DeAnna Pappas was rejected by Brad Womack at the last minute.

BuddyTV: Have you guys had any contact since?

DeAnna Pappas: I have had contact with Brad. Yes.

BuddyTV: There's a lot of rumors going around as to why he pick either of you. Do you, at this point, have any idea as to why he opted out?

DeAnna Pappas: I do, and I don't believe any of the rumors. I don't listen to them because I know that Brad is very genuine. He is a great person and one of the most amazing men I've ever met. I truly believe he just got completely confused.

BuddyTV: Do you have any sympathetic feelings toward Jenni Croft?

DeAnna Pappas: Of course. Jenni is a great person with a big heart. And to see her standing there smiling, I mean, I don't feel like she had any clue that he wasn't going to pick her, and my heart just went out to her.

Brad Womack Explains Nixing Jenni Croft, DeAnna Pappas

In the now-infamous final rose ceremony on the November 19 season finale of The Bachelor, Austin, Texas bar entrepreneur Brad Womack made reality TV history when he shockingly kissed both of the show's finalists... goodbye.

Both DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft were stunned by the move - along with millions of viewers of The Bachelor watching at home.

Brad Womack offered vague explanations in a special after-show, but this week, he told Us Weekly the real reason he let both of the ladies go.

"[DeAnna Pappas] and I had something that's pretty special. But I did not see this crazy love that would turn into a lifetime," says a single Brad.

Brad Womack: The Bachelor

Brad Womack: Still single and trying to explain his dubious actions.

"I'm looking for the same things that I said all along â€" a best friend, a life-long partner and someone to fall madly in love with," Womack said. "I didn't want to lead anybody on. I was very honest with both of the ladies about that."

Brad had no comment on a recent story by E! Online insinuating that he really wanted Bettina Bell, but knew it wouldn't work after a bad family visit.

At least Jenni Croft has already moved on. That much we know.

Source: Brad Womack Really Wanted Bettina Bell

Fans have been searching far and wide for possible insight into the mind of Brad Womack, who spurned both Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas last week on the finale of The Bachelor. Now an insider has shed new light on the situation.

According to Kristin Veitch of E! Online, the real reason for Brad Womack's often criticized and shocking decision to choose either Jenni or DeAnna in the finale had, in reality, little to do with Jenni nor DeAnna, but with Bettina Bell.

Says a rock-solid source: "Brad was really into Bettina, who made it to the final four. But when he went to visit her parents, Bettina's father was so awful to him, Brad knew it wouldn't work. So, he was just sort of over the whole thing."

Bettina Bell, Brad WomackBettina

Was Bettina Bell behind Brad Womack's bungled Bachelor finale?

Brad visited Bettina's home in the sixth episode of this season (the reality show's 11th) and Bell's father sort of sealed her fate when he said he was "disappointed" by Brad's lack of a college degree, as well as with Womack's career choice.

Brad had only known Bettina Bell for a few weeks at the time, and being torn apart on national TV is not the sort of thing you want in a first impression.

So does this make Brad Womack's decision better or worse?

Obviously it's still painful for DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft, who had their hearts ripped out on TV, and for viewers, who felt like they themselves got robbed. But this certainly casts Womack - and Bettina Bell - in a new light.

Bachelor Viewers Calling For Brad Womack's Head

Brad Womack has a supporter in Jen Schefft. She's probably the only one who watched last week's finale of The Bachelor and doesn't want him killed.

ABC's push for last week's season-ending episode of The Bachelor has many viewers feeling they were duped, the New York Daily News reports.

ABC promoted the show all week using a clip - accompanied by the sound of a woman crying - in which Brad Womack said that he had found the one.

Based on the promos, die-hard viewers of the long-running series expected Brad found true love, or at least the reality TV equivalent. Not to be.

Brad Womack Alone

After a long, hard blitz of promos, misleadingly positive interviews and clips featuring a "happy" Brad Womack, he and ABC got together and pulled a fast one.

Both DeAnna Pappas or Jenni Croft were rejected.

As a result, viewers are irate.

"I have been watching The Bachelor series from the very beginning ... but this is IT FOR ME!" wrote one frustrated fan on the show's message board.

"I cannot believe that ABC would air a program that ended this way when it was clearly lies and manipulation on Brad Womack's part," said another.

"I guess we got wrapped up in the fairy tale. Many of us have used The Bachelor to believe," wrote a fan. "Unfortunately, none of us will believe again. Thanks, ABC, for breaking our hearts! Too bad Brad was the one to do it."

An ABC spokeswoman had no comment on the viewer outrage. Jenni Croft is reportedly dating her ex-boyfriend now, incidentally. Good for her.
