Stacey Elza on The Bachelor, "Panty-Gate"

Stacey Elza said she was "definitely that girl" - on ABC's The Bachelor who drinks too much and leaves the first night with a hangover instead of a rose.

"I'd like to say I think all of us have partied that hard - the difference is that I got caught on national television doing it," Elza said.

"It was a combo of nerves and not eating much that day. I started to drink a little champagne earlier in the day... I don't remember much. You guys watching the show was a surprise to you as much as it was to me. I was definitely that girl."

The 26-year-old graduate student from Chicago was one of 10 bachelorettes ousted by Matt Grant during The Bachelor: London Calling's premiere.

Stacey Elza

While in her inebriated state, Stacey Elza provided one of the show's top moments when she slipped a pair of panties into the British star's pocket.

"I just wanted to spice things up a little bit - put the attention on me, which I sure did. I'm very spontaneous - outgoing - I figured why not?" she told reporters, saying the move was something she previously considered.

"But at that particular moment it was on a whim," Stacey Elza said. "For the record - I know everyone wants to know this - they were an extra pair.  They did not literally come off my body."

The gesture wasn't appreciated by Matt Grant, who commented he didn't "give a s**t what country you're from... that is not cool."

"But that's okay," said Stacey Elza of Grant's reaction. "He wasn't my type going in, so I figured anything I do isn't going to hurt me any ways."

Mary Delgado, Byron Velvick Still Goin' Strong

The former star of The Bachelor, Byron Velvick, and his fiance, Mary Delgado, have moved past a 2007 fight that resulted in a jailed Delgado.

"We're going day by day, on our own time," the pro fisherman, 43, says of life with his fiancée in the newest issue of Us Weekly.

Aren't they sweet? Matt Grant can only aspire to such bliss on The Bachelor ...

Byron Velvick, Mary Delgado

Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado are one of the more successful couples to appear on The Bachelor. That's not saying a lot, however.

The pair, who got engaged after she won the final rose in 2004, are going strong in spite of a Thanksgiving fight â€" Mary wanted to stay out later, Byron was ready to call it a night â€" that resulted in Delgado being arrested.

Battery charges against her were later dropped.

You weather through stuff, work harder," Velvick says, "and you come to a better understanding if the love is real.

Adds Mary Delgado: "He's awesome."

The Bachelor Thoughts, By the Sports Gal

It wouldn't be The Bachelor without thoughts from ESPN's Sports Gal.

Well, sure it would, but it wouldn't be quite as funny. Here's what she had to say the hunky Matt Grant and about Monday's premiere...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Bachelor started Monday night, and it was a competitive first show because girls were doing everything to impress the bachelor.
It was like a beauty contest for crazy people (like Stacey).
They always have one black contestant who makes it two rounds before she gets voted off. [Bill Simmons, aka ESPN's The Sports Guy] always compares her to Gonzaga because she's an underdog who never makes the Final Four.
A Matt Grant Photo
Anyhoo, this year's bachelor is A HOT GUY FROM BRITAIN [Matt Grant] and seems to really like this year's black contestant.
Maybe she will make the Final Four of The Bachelor before Gonzaga does!
The other highlight from last night other than THE BACHELOR BEING REALLY HOT (or Shayne Lamas) was a woman with fake lips who got tanked, fondled the bachelor's knee and gave him her panties before passing out face-first on a bed.
I love this show. Did I mention that THE BACHELOR IS SMOKING HOT????
Stacey Steals Show on The Bachelor
Matt Grant is supposed to be the star of this season's The Bachelor.
But 26-year old Stacey - and her drunken antics - starred on Monday night's season premiere. Take a look below and see why:
Meet The Bachelor Contestant: Shayne Lamas
Last night on The Bachelor, Matt Grant narrowed the sexy field of suitors down to 15, and while that's still too many women us to describe any of them as clear favorites, one of them clearly caught the British financier's eye.
A hot blonde introduced as Shayne is actually Shayne Lamas - the daughter of actor and general badass Lorenzo Lamas! Who knew? Probably ABC. Still.
Here's Shayne Lamas' bio from The Bachelor official site ...
Name: Shayne Lamas
Age: 22
Occupation: Actress (she's appeared on General Hospital and in several bad movies ... this isn't an attempt for her to be famous at all, no way)
Birthplace: Malibu, CA
Hometown: Lake Havasu, AZ
Currently resides in: Toluca Lake, CA
Shayne Lamas
If Matt Grant mistreats Shayne Lamas, he can expect a serious can of whoop ass to be opened up by her dad, action star Lorenzo Lamas! Look out!
The Bachelor Episode Guide: Live and Hot
As The Bachelor debuted its 12th season last night with a cocktail party starring the amazing Matt Grant, his 25 would-be life partners arrived and were a bit surprised (in a good way) to learn that they would be courting a Brit!
The first limo arrives and Amanda R., a brunette in a strapless blue dress is the first to greet Matt. Realizing that Matt is British, she says she lived in England for four years as a child. British guys, she says, are "Cute. Like you!"
Next is blonde Amy in a light green dress. She tells him he has a "cute bum."
"Wow, you look amazing," Matt says when he sees Devon, a blonde from Texas who gives him a kiss on the cheek and admires his accent.
Matt Grant and the 25
Matt Grant can't place where Charlotte is, so blonde beauty Kristine tells him it's in North Carolina. He tells her he loves her long, coral-colored dress.
Chelsea, from Santa Barbara, California, challenges Matt to an arm-wrestling match when he gets inside! This is going to get really interesting fast!
What did the rest of the girls of The Bachelor have in store for Matt Grant? Who got the roses and who got sent home?
Let's just say that when the new Bachelor tries to charm the 25 women with his accent tonight, the squealing ladies won't need much encouragement.
The Bachelor Cast Revealed!
The identities of the 25 women who will compete for Matt Grant on the 12th season of The Bachelor hotness - have been revealed. The season debuts March 17.
The 27-year-old global financier is the first international star of The Bachelor in the show's history - and is certainly a big step up from Brad Womack.
Grant - a charming and witty English gentleman - wants to find the love of his life and to start a family as soon as possible, according to ABC's bio.
Monday, Matt Grant will officially embark on the mission he has chosen to accept by meeting his 25 hot choices on The Bachelor during a cocktail party.
Matt Grant, The Bachelor Contestants
Monday, these ladies won't waste anytime trying to woo Matt Grant.
Their methods certainly vary, and are a bit unconventional - an aspiring singer and songwriter croons a tune she just wrote; a General Hospital actress starts boasting about her family's acting history; a fashion designer models a handmade dress; and a grad student takes off her thong and slips it into his pocket. Et cetera.
Matt Grant Calls The Bachelor Experience "Incredible"
The Bachelor: London Calling star Matt Grant said he made a trans-Atlantic love connection on the reality dating series' upcoming 12th season.
"I definitely found love. It was incredible. I'm still buzzing from it now," the 27-year-old global financier told reporters Monday.
He probably already broke up with her, but guess we'll find out for sure soon. The new season gets underway next Monday!
Grant is the international star in The Bachelor history, something he was worried about prior to meeting his 25 American suitors.
"I was really concerned about how that would go down," said Matt Grant. "Overall, it went down really well. But I won't lie, I was concerned about it for sure."
One thing Grant - who is serious about family - wasn't concerned about was The Bachelor trend in which the show's stars always break up after.
If hasn't been bad enough, last fall's The Bachelor edition ended with jackass star Brad Womack rejecting both of his final suitors.
Fortunately, DeAnna Pappas will return as The Bachelorette. But resentment over Womack's rejection stings - though Matt Grant is unfazed.
"If you were to go by track records, life would be pretty dull," he said.
"Those previous guys weren't me. I was confident that I could come onto this and be myself and I was hoping therefor that there would be that one person that would standout - someone who has those unique qualities. I'm not too fussed about the track record of the show... it didn't bother me in the slightest," he said.
So will Matt Grant's chosen trophy wife relocate to the UK?
Now that there's a possibility for romance since filming for The Bachelor ended, Matt Grant said there has been no decision on where the couple will live.
"It takes two to tango," he said. "We'll discuss it later. Either country's great, they've both got their selling points... Just need to discuss it."
Ironically, the self-described "British gentleman" was first approached about appearing as a The Bachelor star while on a date.
"I was out with a girl," he said. "I lost my wallet and left my coat there. It was one of those nights where you're just thinking, 'Oh geez. Get me out of here.'"
Despite everything going wrong, Grant went to a London club where he was approached by a casting agent and asked if he had heard of The Bachelor.
Bachelor "Where Are They Now" Special Set For March
When The Bachelor finishes each dramatic season, only one thing is certain: the final couple has a long way to go.
More often than not, the long road ends in heartbreak.
While updates are often found on the bachelors themselves after the glow of the show has faded, the same cannot be said for the women.
ABC has this decided to shine a light on the forgotten women, giving Matt Grant a glimpse of what his turn as The Bachelor may result in.
Andy Baldwin, Tessa Horst in Hawaii
  Andy Baldwin and Tessa Horst dated for a few months at least.
On March 10, ABC will air a special, The Bachelor: Where Are They Now? Host Chris Harrison will visit some of the past bachelors and competitors.
In addition to rekindling some couples' heartbreak, the special will visit one couple to come out of the series, Trista and Ryan Sutter.
Fans of last season's The Bachelor are also in luck as both DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft - spurned by Brad Womack - will offer updates.
DeAnna Pappas will star on The Bachelorette for ABC this summer.
