Episode Guide
With only seven left, the campers return to their island to discuss what went wrong that Alex, their target, was still there and Mookie (voted off last episode) was not.
Earl wonders why the group didn't think that the split vote might backfire on them, as it did. Alex feels that they are all stressing out and are not in agreement. Stacy asks him what is going on and he says that his best bet is to lay low. He says that the decision to vote for Mookie is the reason he is still there and he double checks to make sure he is.
Alex feels he is still on the chopping block and decides to go into Ninja mode, laying back and observing what is going on. He wants to listen and watch to see what is going on and stay under the radar. Dreamz thinks that honesty is the thing that keeps you in the game. Cassandra, Yao, Earl and Dreamz is Dreamz pick as the core four.
Yao Man thinks that the core four for him are Cassandra, Stacey, Earl and Yao because they are the four that Yao sees as getting him the farthest in the game. The group really think that Alex and Boo are the next to go.
The challenge this week is to rip meat off a swinging hook with only their teeth. Their hands will be tied behind their back. They have five minutes to tear off as much pork as they can and get it on their plate.
Dreamz, Earl, and Alex all have nice piles. The key to this challenge is to work together with at least one holding the piece steady with their shoulder while the other bites off a piece. Everyone works together except for Alex, who seems to have no partner. At the end of the five minutes:
- Boo has 9 pounds
- Yao Man has 6 pounds
- Cassandra has 5.8 pounds
- Stacey has 4.8
- Dreamz has 6 pounds
- Alex has 5.7
- Earl has less than 5 pounds
Boo wins the reward of a rafting trip. He and Dreamz and Yao Man will board a helicopter which will take them to the rainforest to go rafting. As the winner Boo will choose who will go to Exile Island. Jeff gives him a purple bag with paddles in it and tells him that he will now have an advantage at the next immunity challenge and he is to go back and ponder how the win will help him.
Yao Man is very excited to have his first helicopter ride and fly like a bird. He feels it was a truly amazing experience to see places like he grew up in from the air. Dreamz thinks that Boo is talking too much and it is time to relax and chill.
Yao Man is cranked up by the ride. He says that they were given a safety briefing by the guide and then they got to travel down the rapids. Dreamz says that he will probably never do it again, but he wishes that he could take family and share the experience with them.
Boo thinks it is great and he is dumbfounded by the beauty of the place. Treated afterwards to a lunch of huge sandwiches and more food than they can consume, they are brought to silence when they are given letters from home. Dreamz tears up while reading his letters from home.
He says that this was the best reward yet and it helps him regain his purpose for being on Fiji. Yao Man finds out that his children have gotten A's in school and he is proud of them. Dreamz shares that his family lets him know that they are well fed.
After the trip, Yao Man and Dreamz mention that Boo talked incessantly throughout this phase of Survivor. Stacy comments that he talks way too much. Alex jumps in thinking that if he can score any points against Boo he may stay a bit longer.
Earl returns at the start of the immunity challenge. The course is a box on the ground marked out with ropes. Buried under the ground are three paddle steps somewhere in their lane of sand. Boo is told to open his purple bag and then informed that he already has his paddles and moves on to the finals automatically.
The others have to dig in the sand to the depth of a couple of feet to locate their climbing paddles. Stacy and Cassandra are not digging deep and Earl does not make a strong attempt to dig out his paddles. Dreamz gets his first paddle step and gets his next two very quickly while the others still aren't digging very deep.
Yao Man gets his first step and Alex comes quickly after him. Alex has his second step and is going for his last. He gets it before Yao Man gets his second step. The girls didn't work very hard and seemed uninterested in going to the finals. The next round is for the three finalists, Boo, Alex, and Dreamz.
They compete by placing their climbing paddles into pole slots in order to climb the twelve feet to the top and claim their flag. The first to claim his flag will win immunity. Boo gets an early lead and when Alex sees that, he attempts to scale the pole with his body alone. He nearly makes it, but slides down. Dreamz works but is no match for Boo, who steadily makes his way up the pole to claim the flag and council immunity.
With Boo's win, Alex feels that he is most likely going to go, but he decides that he is not going to beg for his stay to be extended.
While on Exile Island, Earl finds the next clue, telling him that the idol is hidden somewhere on the trail where they normally walk, up in a tree.
Back at Bula Bula's camp, Alex waits for Cassandra and lets her know that Yao Man will most likely take Stacey and Boo to the finals since they won't have the votes from the jury. Dreamz, Alex, Cassandra, and Earl talk.
Earl doesn't take it seriously, but alone, Alex continues to work on Cassandra and Dreamz. Alex says that Yao won't be expecting it and so they can take him out without him using the immunity idol. Dreamz likes Alex and considers it. Cassandra thinks that they will have to blindside Earl at the same time as Yao Man, because Earl would not keep it from Yao Man.
She is undecided about her vote.
Rocky, Lise, Michelle, Edgardo, and Mookie join tribal council. Jeff asks Alex about him being there and Mookie being gone. Yao Man is giving a clue by Jeff when he is asked if he can trust his group and that this is the week for one of the six to go. Alex is asked about his going and he says that he will fight to stay in the game.
Yao tells Jeff that one might turn, two might turn, but three would be nearly impossible, so he thinks he is safe, but that when it gets to the six, they might want to flush it out of him so that he won't use it for nefarious purposes. Boo holds individual immunity and cannot be voted out.
Alex votes out Yao Man. Yao Man votes out Alex. No other vote is shown. Jeff asks if anyone wants to play the immunity idol after tallying the votes. The camera settles on Yao Man, but he declines that chance after looking at his alliance's faces.
The votes:
Alex, Yao Man, Alex, Alex, Alex. Alex is voted out of the tribe.
Next episode:
Yao Man is in trouble and Dreamz is conspiring against him.
During a challenge, Yao Man says that it is time for him to make a deal and the camera goes to Dreamz, who lowers his head.
Alex has some last words, saying he played his best, advised kids to keep going because you never know where you will end up, and says that the six are not living in the real world if they think that they won't end up backstabbing each other in order to win the game.
