So You Think You Can Dance Finalists Imagine a Routine

David Archuleta may not have won American Idol, but he made an impression on young fans and fellow reality TV competitors alike.

What do we mean? We'll let the talented singers tell you himself, courtesy of this entry in his MySpace blog:

On So You Think You Can Dance, a couple named [Katee Shean and Will Wingfield] danced to my performance “Imagine.” I thought that was way cool! Haha. They did awesome. I feel… Like honored lol.

LOL, indeed.

Here's a look at the inspired, imagined rourtine:

So You Think You Can Dance News: Jessica King Out, Comfort Fedoke In

Jessica King, one of So You Think You Can Dance’s final 10 contestants, has dropped out of the competition due to injury. Nigel Lythgoe told reporters at the FOX Television Critics Association event in Los Angeles the news earlier today.

Lythgoe says Comfort Fedoke, who was eliminated on the results show July 10, will rejoin the cast.

“I would like to say how sorry I am that Jessica cannot continue dancing in the competition at the advice of her doctor,” Lythgoe said in a statement released by FOX. “Her full recovery is paramount and will only come with rest.”

Replacement

Comfort Fedoke, right, will get another chance to prove that she can dance.

Jordin Sparks Reacts to So You Think You Can Dance Routine

Just a year and a half after her own reality show victory, American Idol Jordin Sparks took to the stage of another competition show, So You Think You Can Dance.

This time, though, she came as a fan.

"[Katee and Joshua] did a routine to my song, "No Air," and it was crazy to see how they moved to it. It was beautiful and I totally saw the story. I got chills," Sparks told Us Weekly of the pair's June 11 performance. "I played it 100 times!"

Ousted So You Think You Can Dance Contestant Speaks Out

We wonder if Chelsea Traille thinks her take on So You Think You Can Dance is ground-breaking.

The contestant that got voted off the show last week says eliminations are scarcely based on talent.

"It's disappointing because no one wants to not succeed at something. But I mean, obviously, dancing on television it's not all about dance," Traille told reporters during a Friday conference call.

Our response? D'uh! Has Chelsea ever seen the popularity show known as American Idol?!?

"There's popularity involved and there is a cast involved and there is a flavor that they look for the overall cast that remains each week," Traille added. "And I was up against a lot of different talent and diversity. I don't feel like, even though a lot of us were contemporary, none of us had a similar style."

In the end, it's hard to blame Chelsea for being a tad bitter:

"It's unfortunate that I don't feel like America really got to see my personality, but I do know that they did get to feel me when I got to dance on that stage."

Reality TV Recaps: So You Think You Can Dance, Shear Genius

While one reality TV show narrowed down its remaining semi-finalists, another premiered last night. Let's recap both...

So You Think You Can Dance: Our guest judge this week is Adam Shankman, who directed Hairspray and dropped by a couple times last season. Adam has just finished shooting Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler, and tells us that Lacey Schwimmer and Travis Wall are in it... -- Reality News Online

Shear Genius: So the first short cut challenge (get it?) is to cut their clients' hair blindfolded. The clients, bless them, are all wearing safety glasses -- and it seems that all of them make it through without being cut... -- Zap2It

Mary Murphy Defends So You Think You Can Dance Eliminations

Following the elimination of Susie Garcia and Marquis Cunningham on So You Think You Can Dance last week, fans were dismayed.

What had this pair done to deserve the boot?

Finally, judge Mary Murphy has explained the decision a bit in an interview with The Los Angeles Times.

"I think America at home probably won't see it the way that we saw it, either, mainly because there were so many tricks, and that's exciting to see," Murphy said. "What they didn't see was enough dancing in between. There's no way the crowd would understand our decision."

Is that a satisfactory answer, fans? Do you still think the wrong So You Think You Can Dance performers were sent home?

Cat Deely Speaks on So You Think You Can Dance Tour, Success

Last month, So You Think You Can Dance dancers took the stage to a raucous ovation on the American Idol finale.

Based on that, Us Weekly asked host Cat Deely if the two shows would ever embark on a joint tour. Her reply:

I actually don't know. [The collaboration] was a huge success on Idol Gives Back and it was really special. Because of the success of it, it wouldn't surprise me if something else did happen. I don't know exactly in what form it will be or how it will happen, but there is obviously a synergy between both shows because of the production teams that work on them both.

A Cute Cat

Deeley was also asked why  viewers keep coming back to So You Think You Can Dance every summer:

I think that our show is such a success because of the human element that's part of the show. People can like dance or be into dance, but it's that thing of watching other people's successes and failures and trials and tribulations. We've all, at some point in our lives, had to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves off and get on with [things]. Whether you're a mechanic, a baker, an accountant - whoever you are - we can all identify with that.

Reality TV Recaps: So You Think You Can Dance, Farmer Wants a Wife

So You Think You Can Dance: The top eighteen were paraded out and judges, Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Mia Michaels were introduced.  Cat asked Mia what she thought of the talent and she said it was "Beenoodles"…we think. -- Reality TV Magazine
