Summary
So You Think You Can Dance, from the producers of American Idol, is an American dance reality TV program and competition. The show hold its auditions across the U.S., looking for top dancers in various cities. Contestants from all backgrounds and with any type of dancing style are encouraged to audition.
The dancers are put through grueling rehearsals and auditions and slowly narrowed down to a top 20 list of 10 men and 10 women. These contestants are then paired up and must randomly pick a partnered dance. Often this is not a style they know, and they must learn it from scratch. Couples then perform the routine and America votes for its favorite couple.
