Get to Know a Project Runway Contestant: Johnny Sakalis

Bravo revealed the identities of all 16 contestants vying for the season six title on Project Runway this year.

As a result, we'll be introducing these aspiring stars, one-by-one, until the show's premiere on August 20 on Lifetime. Yesterday, readers met Christopher Straub.

Based on Tim Gunn's description of this 30-year old fashion designer, he'll be the most controversial contestant, as the show's host said:

"Johnny will be polarizing. People will love him, or hate him."

Isn't that what reality TV is all about, though? the best kind of reality TV star!

On his official bio, Sakalis lists his favorite designers as Alexander McQueen, Viktor and Rolf. He's one to watch this season.

Get to Know a Project Runway Contestant: Christopher Straub

Earlier today, Lifetime released the complete cast list for season six of Project Runway.

It will premiere on August 20 - and Christopher Straub hopes to make a long-lasting impression on the popular series.

The 30-year old works as a visual merchandiser, according to his official bio. According to Tim Gunn, meanwhile?

"Christopher is very sensitive, very emotional. He wears his emotions on his sleeve."

Straub resides in Shakopee, Minnesota and lists Valentino and Zac Posen as his favorite designers.

Project Runway Cast: Revealed!

Following a massive delay and numerous legal battles, Project Runway is finally returning to the air.

It will premiere on Lifetime on August 20, as a diverse cast of 16 contestants - hailing from all over the globe, such as Russia, Bosnia and the Republic of Georgia - compete for the top prize.

Because season six takes place in Los Angeles, celebrities such as Christina Aguilera and Lindsay Lohan will make cameos during challenges; while the judging panel remains the same: Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.

"Look out for the girls," Klum said this week, previewing the season ahead. "The girls are very strong on season six. There's a lot of crying, there's fighting going on, there's a lot of drama going on — but especially with the girls."

Project Runway Season Six Premiere Date Announced

Finally!

Following a legal battle over changing networks, Project Runway is finally prepared to air its sixth season.

Look for it to premiere at 10 p.m. on August 20.

Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia will return, all prepared to guide 16 contestants through a series of design-based challenges.

Project Runway: Season Six to Air This Summer

Project Runway's legal saga has come to an end.

Bravo's NBC Universal parent company, Project's Runway's The Weinstein Company production company, and Lifetime Networks announced this week the legal dispute surrounding the competition has been resolved.

The show's sixth season will debut this summer on Lifetime.

"NBC Universal, The Weinstein Company and Lifetime have resolved their disputes," NBC Universal said in a statement.  "The Weinstein Company will pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime. All of the parties are pleased with the outcome."

Leanne Marshall was named season five champion of Project Runway last night.

Is the plan to grow the fashion line you’ve had for the past couple of years, Leanimal, with the money from Project Runway?
I’m doing my line as Leanne Marshall now. I’m gonna be moving to New York and starting a production company. I’ve been getting so many orders and I’m ready to have people helping me and working for me and it’ll be nice to not have to sew 24 hours a day trying to do everything frantically myself (laughs).

In the first-ever all-female finale on Project Runway, Leanne Marshall was crowned the winner of the show's fifth season last night.

A quartet of judges picked Marshall over fellow contestants Korto Momolu and Kenley Collins.

Series mentor Tim Gunn served as a guest judge after Jennifer Lopez dropped out due to a foot injury. All judges pointed to a wave-inspired collection draped in large panels of white, cream and shades of turquoise as a big reason why Leanne was named champion.

She won $100,000 to start her own line, among other prizes from the victory.

Lindsay Lohan to Guest Judge on Project Runway

According to Access Hollywood, Lindsay Lohan has been tapped to bring Project Runway to Lifetime.

The actress will serve as a guest judge when the hit reality show debuts on its new network in 2009; the tentative date for said premiere is January 20, while the season five Project Runway finale airs October 15 on Bravo.

In taking her seat in the judge’s chair, Lohan joins a long line of A-list stars who have lent their fashion sense to the show, including Victoria Beckham, Natalie Portman and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Project Runway Season Finale News: Jennifer Lopez Out, Tim Gunn In

Turns out Jennifer Lopez won't be judging the Project Runway season finale after all.

The singer/actress has dropped out due to a foot injury, Heidi Klum announced at Friday's Project Runway fashion show in New York City.

Tim Gunn will fill in as a guest judge instead.

As for future guest stars, might we ever see Klum's husband, Seal, on the series?

"Maybe," the gorgeous model said. "I think he has more style than me, that’s for sure. I changed my style after I met him to keep up with him. He’s very fashionable

Jennifer Lopez to Judge Project Runway Season Finale

Jennifer Lopez is more than just Jenny from the Block.

She's set tobe a guest judge on the season five finale of Project Runway.

Nina Garcia essentially confirmed the news, saying this year's finale "is going to be unbelievable" and adding:

"The guest star is one of the most iconic women around. It’s going to take the cake."

Judge Michael Kors told the latest issue of Elle that J. Lo could be a fashion editor.

“She is curious about what’s new and what’s next,” he said, “but at the same time she knows how to edit perfectly for her look and lifestyle.”
