Pirate Master: Week 4

Jay is upset that Sean didn’t keep his word to vote for Cheryl during the last Pirate’s Court.  Sean apologized to Jay and promised that he wouldn’t do the same sort of thing again.

After unlocking the fourth compartment of the Chest of Zanzibar, the crew again divided into a red team and a black team.  Some of the crew joined Captain Azmyth and his officers on the black crew, while the remainder of the squad made up the red crew.  The crews rowed to the beach, where they followed a trail into the jungle in search of the crocs heads landmark.  The black crew reached the sabotage first,  blocking the red crew’s path with rocks.

When the crews reached the crocs heads landmark, they found clues directing them to travel back to a nearby canyon cave.  Captain Azmyth misinterpreted the map clue in the cave and took his black crew too far down the beach.  The red crew found the treasure first.  The value of the treasure was five thousand dollars, but there was also a secret compartment with a letter.  The letter was a pardon from being set adrift that the other pirates could bid on.  The red crew elected Louie as Captain, and Louie selected Sean and Nessa as officers.

Captain Louie and his officers selected Joe Don, Cheryl, and Azmyth to mark with the black spot.  Azmyth pleaded his case by saying his word was impeccable.  Cheryl pleaded her case by saying it wasn’t fair to put her up just because she associated with Joe Don.  Joe Don pleaded his case by saying that he had treated Louie with respect and didn’t deserve what was being thrown at him.

The highest bidder for the royal pardon was Joe Don with a bid of seven thousand dollars.  It turned out that Joe Don did not need the royal pardon, so by the rules of the game, he has to sell it before the next Pirate’s Court.  The majority of votes were cast for Cheryl Kosewicz, and she was cut adrift.

Cheryl said: “I didn’t bid for the pardon.  I just felt that if they don’t want me here, then I’m going to go, and to be able to say that I didn’t succumb to the backstabbing and lying makes me a better person, and I’m so glad I did it.”
