New York Goes to Hollywood: Japandemonium!
Original Air Date: 8/18/2008Episode Guide
Tiffany Pollard was back at it again, trying to make her acting dreams come true, in the third episode of New York Goes to Hollywood. It begins with an immediate fight between Pollard and has assistant, Lizza, as the latter is late to a meeting.
New York soon gets over it, though, because her agent Chuck calls and informs her that he’s booked a "spec" commercial for the reality TV star. Spec means that the spot might not pay anything and might not ever air. The commercial is for a Japanese energy drink and if it does air, it will do so in Japan. Chuck suggests that Pollard get to know Japanese culture. Once off the phone, Lizza asks how much she knows about said culture.
“I like Thai food,” Tiffany says. Gosh, we love her.
Soon, NY is off to acting class, where she flirts with Vos.
After acting class, Pollard is off to study Japanese culture. Her first stop? The dry cleaners. Her first problem? The lady working there is Korean.
“Is that the same as being Japanese, or, like, not at all?” New York asks. Again, we love her so much.
After the dry cleaners, Pollard heads to a nail salon and a Japanese restaurant, as her attempts at being offensive are at least growing more moderate with each stop. On the commercial set, Tiffany meets the director of the commercial, who seems to speak no English. Another issue? Pollard spits out the energy drink when she first tries it, saying it tastes like "rotten feet." We had no idea she had ever eaten those.
After more spitting, along with issues of a board not breaking when she chops it, Pollard eventually gets her lines out and ends the day on a happy note. A Japanese commercial that may never air and doesn't pay anything? It's one step closer to serious acting!
