This just in: Tiffany Pollard is not yet a serious actress.
On the series premiere of New York Goes to Hollywood last night, the reality TV star gave herself 30 days to find a role or else she was going home. Why the deadline? Because a show that doesn't involve Pollard sexually transmitting diseases to various suitors needs its own drama.
“I wanna make it as a certified actress out here in California,” Tiffany says in the beginning of the episode, meaning she has to find a role and a certificate for it within a month.
Before she can do make her dreams come true, Pollard decides she needs an assistant. Really, all non-working actresses do.
An ad is placed and -i ncredibly! - the first couple of hopefuls end up clashing with New York, most notable Zondra, who doesn't believe in pre-marital sex or cursing. In defense of the latter, Pollard asks: How can you just ignore, I think it’s the Fifth Amendment? Freedom of speech?”
Anyway, Tiffany eventually settles on Lizza.
Our heroine is told she ought to conduct a showcase, which is a brief performance from an aspiring actor to drum up support among managers. Before this can take place, though, Pollard hits the gym.
After being yelled at for wearing ridiculous gym attire, and crapping out after four minutes of running, Pollard must practice her monologue.
At the showcase, Tiffany is introduced as “America’s princess,” which if even true, says more about the state of American culture than it does about New York’s career. Sadly - or as planned by the show to build drama - al the producers leave before Pollard even gets the chance to greet them. Show credits.
