Top Chef Criticizes Gordon Ramsay, Hell's Kitchen

Top Chef judge and restaurateur Tom Colicchio has a bone to pick with his Hell's Kitchen counterpart Gordon Ramsay over the way Fox's foul-mouthed culinary king treats his aspiring chefs.

Tom Colicchio "I watched five minutes of [Hell's Kitchen] once and turned it off because I can't deal with people screaming at chefs," said Colicchio. "I try to treat the [Top Chef] contestants the way I would treat the cooks in my kitchen - you have to be firm, you have to criticize them, but you do it in a way to build them up, not rip them apart."

Colicchio said he works nights so he's not usually around to watch much TV, and when he does find himself in-front of the television it's usually to watch his favorites.

"It's not [Hell's Kitchen]," he told TV Guide.

Colicchio said he considers his Bravo reality show's third-season cast, which consists mostly of sous chefs or executive chefs, to be "a deeper talent pool" than Top Chef's previous seasons. Nevertheless, he couldn't help but offer some words of wisdom from his decades of experience in the restaurant industry.

"Simple is better than complicated, especially when you're doing things under time constraints," he told TV Guide. "I think too often their minds are racing so quickly that they end up doing more than they can handle. The chefs that are really going to distinguish themselves are the chefs that are going to do something uniquely their own. You want to see someone's own style and personality on the plate."

Hell's Kitchen 3 Spoiler: Winner Revealed?

You Morons! Bodog.com announced Tuesday that suspicious betting patterns on one of the 12 wannabe chefs and restaurateurs competing on the third season of Hell's Kitchen has forced it to stop taking bets on the third season of the Fox reality show.

According to the gambling website, it decided to close betting on Hell's Kitchen 3 after "heavy betting" on Rock, a 30-year-old executive chef from Spotsylvania, VA, moved Bodog's odds on his victory from 7-to-1 when wagering on the show first opened down to 2-to-1 by the time of the show's Monday night premiere.

"Upon further investigation of the suspicious betting patterns, Bodog.com's security department established a number of [betting account] links to employees of the television network responsible for Hell's Kitchen 3," Bodog spokesman Greg Godden said.

According to Godden, Bodog's investigation is still on-going and the security department is continuing to research further details.

Monday night's Hell's Kitchen 3 premiere concluded with Tiffany Nagel, a 27-year-old kitchen manager from Scottsdale, AZ, becoming the first contestant eliminated from the competition and Rock still a member of the show's all-male Blue team.

While this is the first time Hell's Kitchen has found itself involved in a potential betting spoiler, the same can't be said for Bodog.

Four years ago, Bodog stopped taking bets on Survivor: The Amazon after it claimed to have discovered that several CBS employees had been using their inside knowledge of each Survivor edition's finalists to place bets on each season's ultimate winner.
