Dancing With the Stars: And Then There Were Six...

Six couples remain on one of the closest seasons of Dancing With the Stars in years.

While Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke have sat atop the leaderboard for most of the season, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani, along with Lil Kim and Derek Hough, are making a late surge.

The show will crown a new champion in a few weeks. In the meantime, click on the following photos from each tandem's most recent performances below. Which is your favorite?

Lawrence Taylor Voted Off Dancing With the Stars

Lawrence Taylor was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars this week.

But the NFL great took the news well.

“He can’t wait to get back onto the golf course,” said partner Edyta Sliwinska.

The former New York Giants linebacker said he enjoyed numerous fond moments and made friendships he’ll take with him.

“I’ve done a lot of different things in my life and this is something I’m going to remember for the rest of my life,” Taylor said after the show. “I had a great partner and the experience was something that was enjoyable.”

New Leaders Emerge on Dancing With the Stars

It was a competitive, entertaining night on Dancing With the Stars.

While the couples came together for a group dance with a 1960s theme, one tandem stood out from the rest during the actual performances.

Indeed, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani have now earned the most points this season, following an impressive 29-point routine.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy Will Continue to Dance with the Stars

Maksim Chmerkovskiy is more than just a (VERY) pretty face.

The Dancing With the Stars professional understands the job market and, as a result, told Us Weekly on Wednesday that he'll be remaining on the show for the foreseeable future.

"In this economy, to have a job like this?" said the dancer, who was voted off with Denise Richards a few weeks ago. "Believe me, It's not a bad job!"

Maks the Magnificent

So, Maks, who do you think will win this season?

"It's between Melissa Rycroft, Gilles Marini and Lil Kim. I would be happy to see any one of them win," he said.

He didn't last very long this season, but click on the following photos for larger images of Chmerkovskiy and Richards...

Steve-O Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

Steve-O went as far as his limited talent, and good-natured humor, could take him on Dancing with the Stars. He was eliminated from the show last night.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba seemed sad to see him go.

“He’s the most kindest and uplifting and dedicated person. I just fell in love with the person behind the dancer,” she said.

Poor Rumba

The Rumba proved to be the final performance for Steve-O and Lacey Schwimmer.

While never mastered the Waltz or the Rumba, Steve-O said he enjoyed the experience.

“I don’t have anything to be bummed out about,” he said. “Last night was the first time I can say that my performance on television was better than any of the rehearsals leading up to it.”

Dancing With the Stars Photo Recap: Week Seven

Dancing With the Stars Recap: A Solid, Lil Performance

Breaking news this week on Dancing with the Stars: Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke did not earn the highest score!

This is a rare occurrence on season eight, but the judges couldn't help but award Lil Kim and Derek Hough 28 points for their Jive. Heck, Bruno said he wanted to be "arrested and frisked" after watching it; something Kim knows a lot about it!

Chucks Wicks: The Rumba Rundown

Chucks Wicks heads back to the dance floor tonight, as he and partner Julianne Hough take on The Rumba.

Hours prior to the latest installment of Dancing with the Stars, Wicks previewed the routine with TV Guide:

[The Rumba is] the dance of love. It's actually been a lot of fun for me because I get to get up close and personal with her and we already have that chemistry locked in, so I think that's an advantage of us. What's not an advantage is that I still have to learn the steps! But that's what I'm gonna try to bring this week — not trying to think too much about the dance steps, but just being out there with Julianne and trying to bring that passion through.

When I get out there, I think a lot, I get nervous and this week I think I might have a chance to put that aside and show raw emotion. ... As each week goes by, I just get more comfortable with the setting, with the nerves, and I feel like I'm finally getting to a place where I need to let it all go and see what happens.

David Alan Grier Has Harsh Words for Carrie Ann Inaba

David Alan Grier, along with partner Kym Johnson, was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars this week.

But the comedian isn't going quietly.

Speaking to reporters after he got the boot, Grier had harsh words for judge Carrie Ann Inaba.

David and KymHuge Kick

The two actually worked together years ago, as Grier played a prominent role on the sketch comedy show In Living Color, while Inaba was a dancer - or "Fly Girl" - on the program. But that relationship didn't exactly prevent the actor from going off.

"She better not come within 10 feet of me because she's getting a foot in her ass," Grier told tabloid OK!. "I feel like we never got the respect of the judges. Never!"

Think Grier has a legitimate beef? Should Inaba be scared?

David Alan Grier Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

David Alan Grier will no longer be Dancing with the Stars.

In a surprise elimination, the actor/comedian was voted off the last night. The crowd gasped when they learned Grier and partner Kym Johnson received the fewest number of votes.

“I think the show is about much more than who dances the best or who dances better than someone else. It’s a reality show. It’s entertainment,” Grier said, following his elimination. “It’s been fun. It’s been crazy. And I’ve lost a lot of weight.”

Did David Alan Grier deserve to be eliminated this week?
