Kathy Ireland: Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars

Kathy Ireland is one of the most successful swimsuit models of all-time.

But no amount of hotness could save the contestant from elimination last night on Dancing with the Stars.

Tony Dovolani and Kathy Ireland

Following performances by Joss Stone, Selena Gomez and the USC Marching Band, host Tom Bergeron narrowed the field to 13 quasi celebrities by sending the beauty home. She took it well, saying:

"There is so much to take away from this experience. I wouldn't change a moment of it, [including] the fact that I got to learn how to dance from world champion Tony Dovolani."

Dancing With the Stars Results: Sexy Singers Scintillate

Following last night's Dancing With the Stars, two things are clear:

It helps to be a singer on this show. The same can't be said for washed up models and politicians.

After a fun night of Jive-ing and QuickStepping, Aaron Carter - who guaranteed a season nine victory - and Mya sat atop the scoreboard. Kathy Ireland and Tom DeLay, conversely, lead the favorites to go home tonight.

Dancing With the Stars to Honor Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze, who passed away this week at the age of 57, appeared on the first season of Dancing with the Stars. He showed up for an episode and helped friend John O’Hurley learn a few moves.

Therefore, in honor of the actor, the ABC series will honor his memory on September 23.

“We have some very fond memories of [the late actor] coming to help us our when we were a tiny little show way back when,” said producer Conrad Green. “He was one of the few people to integrate dance with being an A-list actor. He inspired many people and many of our pros to dance. We want to honor the great moments he’s brought to film by getting our dancers to do their interpretation to some music from his films.”

Mark Ballas Totally Crushed on Melissa Joan Hart

Mark Ballas is partners with Melissa Joan Hart on the new season of Dancing with the Stars.

The pairing makes the professional think back to his younger days, when he totally crushed on the young actress.

“I said to my mom, my dad, ‘Don’t talk to me, I’m watching Clarissa,” Ballas said of his daily schedule, which was planned around Hart's TV shows. “I was little, I was 12, 13, and I was like, ‘She’s really cute.’”

How does he feel about Hart now? Ballas is certainly digging the duo's season nine prospects.

“It’s having the will to want to learn and she definitely has that,” he told People. “And she’s improved so much since we started. She said it’s been a dream of hers to be a dancer, and that is a dream that’s coming true.”
