American Idol Eliminates Megan Joy

The joy is gone from American Idol.

Megan Joy - who possessed the look and the personality, but never the vocal chops - was sent home from the show last night.

She was joined in the bottom three this week by Anoop Desai and Allison Iraheta.

Kris Allen comforts Megan Joy, following the latter's elimination. She seemed ready to go home to her young son.

More Revenge for Melissa Rycroft!

Come on, celebrity gossip tabloids.

We don't expect a lot from you, but the utter replication of another magazine's cover is just lazy.

A few weeks ago, Us Weekly touted the "revenge" of Melissa Rycroft, as if a spot on Dancing with the Stars somehow affected Jason Mesnick in some heartbreaking manner.

Now, in its latest issue, People is also trumpeting - you guessed it - Rycroft's revenge...

Inside People, Melissa talks about how she deals with grief.

“I go through stages. I will shut down and lock myself in my room. And then I’ll get to the point where I can’t be by myself and I have to be around other people all the time. Otherwise I’ll drive myself nuts crying. I cry it out. Then one day I wake up and go, I’m okay.”

Maybe we can soon feel similarly about the repetitive way the entertainment news industry is covering this story.

The Hills Season Five Cast Photo, Preview

Season 5 of The Hills, which debuts Monday, April 6 on MTV, will feature Lauren Conrad bidding farewell to the show following its latest batch of episodes.

"I actually thought last season was going to be my last," the star told EW. "[But] the producers wanted to hopefully give the show some sort of closure."

Lauren Conrad says that there isn't much drama - at least for her personally - in the final 10 episodes, since "I didn't have all that much conflict in my life over the last few months... I think I only cry in one episode."

That would certainly be a departure from what we're used to. Here's a photo of LC and the rest of the Season Five cast of The Hills ...

The Hills Season 5 Cast

The Hills cast: Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, Lauren Conrad, Brody Jenner, Lo Bosworth, as-yet-unknown-guy, and Stephanie Pratt!

The end of her tenure on The Hills doesn't mean budding businesswoman LC is done with TV altogether. Lauren Conrad says that she's currently in discussions to turn her upcoming young-adult book series into a TV drama.

"We've been taking a lot of meetings," she says. "I don't know exactly where I want to go, but I've looked into producing because I've always found it so interesting."

As for costar Audrina Patridge's planned new reality series, Conrad says, "To be honest, I really haven't heard that much about it. She has a pretty interesting life. She's a really cool girl. She's fun to watch."

Holly Madison, Steve Wozniak Eliminated from Dancing With the Stars

Dancing With the Stars bid farewell to a pair of contestants last night - and neither was a major surprise.

Holly Madison, who was a late replacement for Jewel and suffered through a couple injuries of her own, was eliminated along with partner Dmitry Chaplin.

"It was a lot physically harder than I thought it was going to be, but it was so much fun and I'm so glad l got a chance to do it," Madison said. " And I still love the costumes - that's still my favorite part."

So Long, Holly

In even less of a shocker, Steve Woziak - following weeks where he scored 10 and 12 points, respectively - was also sent packing.

"This is a great show, a great process, a great system," said the Mac founder, who said performing on it made him feel "like the luckiest person in the world."

Trio of Contestants Challlenge Adam Lambert

Will Adam Lambert win American Idol?

We think so. We hope so.

But while the singer was outstanding during his rendition of "Play That Funky Music" last night, a trio of other contestants proved that they won't just lie down for Lambert.

  • Danny Gokey: The passionate singer was on top of his game with "What Hurts The Most."
  • Allison Iraheta: The 16-year old rocked out, as usual, with a rendition of "Don't Speak."
  • Kris Allen: Still coming on strong, put on his best performance of the season with "Ain't No Sunshine."
