Tonight on The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick finally made his choice on the season finale tonight, dropping down to propose to Melissa Rycroft of Dallas, Texas.
She accepted, and the rest is history ...
... or was, until less than an hour later.
That's when, in the "After the Final Rose" special, we learned that their engagement fell apart almost immediately - and moreover, he is now together with Molly Malaney, the runner-up he spurned in favor of Melissa on the final!

I think Jason was stupid proposing to Melissa in the first place if he had feelings for Molly. Taht wasn't fair to either of the women. I agree with Melissa, though. It has only been 6 weeks! He has determined in those few weeks that the chemistry is gone. He did not even try to work things out with her, just sprang the break up on her on live national tv. Molly is stupid for accepting him back. I doubt him and Molly will stay together. Tomorrow night I'm expecting Jason to say there is no more chemistry between he and Molly and dump her as well.

There is more to this story then we are being told. Melissa will be the next bachelorette, and infatuation is emotional intensity that is short lived, whereas love builds to a commitment. That says it all.

I think he had the "what if" syndrome once they got back to reality. Add the reactions of your family and friends regarding your decision, all the questions "why her?", etc. - you are bound to think about the other person. I am sure he does have true feelings for Molly - why oh why didn't he heed DeAnna's advice? LOL.
I am sure anyone that's on this show goes through this, but he never should have proposed, or at least - though I hate the thought - given it to her as a promise ring!

I am so happy that Jason did what he did, I was so disappointed when he chose Melissa, watching the show you can see true love all in the eyes and the big difference with Mellisa in Molly was if you watched the two of them when they truly declared their love for Jason Melissa blinked every time she said it to him. Molly without hesitation never once blinked, you can see clearly without a doubt she loves him.
Jason, I am so proud that you were man enough to see that you made the wrong decision before it was to late for not only you but for your son. May you and Molly live a long and happy life.

I am appauled that Jason couldnt break it off with this young lady privatly instead he humiliated her on national t.v. yep great guy, just because you admit that what your doing is wrong doesnt get you off the hook, not to mention, is everyone forgetting the real victim??this man has a little boy, Ty who had to see his daddy with two different women and then get use to Melissa and now lose her just to have to get use to Molly, not ok..He spent holidays with Melissa remember that means Ty did, I hope for the future of the Bachelor they think twice about them having children involved. I fell in love with the guy just watching but what a slap in the face that is more cold hearted how this took place than I could imagine, good luck Molly, you may need it!

I wasn't wild about Melissa, but breaking upwith her on national tv was disgusting. Worse, however, was the appalling smirk on the host, Chris's face. He looked like he was immensely enjoying Melissa's pain! What a prick!

I am so angry with Jason. He cant just play with people's hearts like that. I wish Molly would have already moved on and turned him down when he asked her back into his life so he would have been left with nothing in the end since he put both of them through that major roller coaster ride. I followed the whole season and really liked Jason until tonight. I think he is going to do the same thing to Molly. He doesnt know what he wants. I thinks he just liked having his choice of women. He must have gotten big headed to think he can just drop one woman and another will be just sitting there waiting for him.
