Three people were arrested and at least six others suffered minor injuries during a bit of mayhem at a Saturday afternoon casting call for America's Next Top Model. Unfortunately, Tyra Banks was not among those hauled off.
Though the exact cause of the fracas has yet to be determined, witnesses blame a general lack of organization at the Season 13 tryout, as well as a panic that erupted when someone screamed that a smoking car was about to explode.
Thousands gathered - some arriving on Friday night - to put in their bid for the first ANTM cycle to admit women 5-foot-7 and shorter.
"People were pushing, screaming, yelling at each other," one America's Next Top Model hopeful told the New York Times. "It was chaos."
Among the scores who were pushed down, two were taken to the hospital with minor injures, while four other injured parties refused medical attention.
Police ultimately shut down the casting call, and arrested two women and one man on charges of disorderly conduct and inciting to riot.
The CW told the New York Times it was "working and cooperating with local authorities" to look into what went wrong on the set.
Producer-host Tyra Banks has yet to comment on the melee.

I think what probably happened is that the aspiring models learned that that creepy Clay Aiken is going to be a guest on the show and they all started stampeding to get away.

Typical blacks. Put a lot of black women in a line for anything and there's going to be drama and violence. Those blacks had no business auditioning as models anyway they were all 40 to 75 pounds overweight. I pity NYC their standards are really slippin. Lyn fromwembleypark.com
