SHOULD MICHAEL PHELPS STAR ON THE BACHELOR?

The number of gold medals around the neck of Michael Phelps (eight), isn't nearly as impressive as the number of clearly defined abdominal muscles spouting forth from this Olympian's taut stomach (six, each one rippling like the water Phelps dominated in Beijing).

As a result of Phelps' body - of work and of hotness - the 23-year-old ought to be bombarded by single women when he returns to the States.

How will he be able to separate the loons from the possible loves without the help of a rigorous screening process? Enter The Bachelor.

For Phelps, the decision to star on The Bachelor should be a no-brainer. The man has worked so hard over the years to become an Olympic legend. Isn't it time he sat back and let desperate women be the ones to put in the effort to earn his affections? Let them be the ones to get wet for a change.

For ABC, the debate between Phelps and other contenders, such as Jason Mesnick, is comparable to the competition between Phelps and every other swimmer last week in Beijing.

America needs Michael Phelps as its next Bachelor.

Neither Donald Trump nor Dennis Rodman will go away.

The former continues to pump out seasons of his reality show, despite its diminishing ratings.

The latter, meanwhile, has reportedly been asked to be a contestant on the next season of Celebrity Apprentice. According to The Chicago Sun-Times, both the former NBA player and former Baywatch beauty Brande Roderick will appear on the next season of the show. They're pictured together below.

Joan Rivers is already confirmed as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice.

Taping of the new season begins September 21.

Julianne Hough's foray into the world of country music has already paid dividends with a number-one ranked album. Her self-titled CD, Julianne Hough, hit the top of the charts in May.

Now, the new career for the Dancing with the Stars professional - don't worry, she'll return to the series this fall - is paying off in personal ways, as well:

Hough is dating fellow country crooner Chuck Wicks.

"It's very difficult to date – I just got kind of lucky!" Hough said to People Magazine about Wicks, who she got to know when the two joined Brad Paisley on tour this summer.  "He's just a great guy! He's awesome and really, really talented."

Chuck Wicks better treat Julianne Hough well. We've got our eyes on him! (And on her, of course. Yowza!)

Sorry, Toastee Toof and Pumkin. You aren't the only reality stars to pose naked.

Fifth season Beauty and the Geek winner, Amanda Corey, has actually done the nude deed on more than one occasion. She was named a Playboy Cyber Girl of the Week for November 13, 2006 and is posing in her birthday suit once again for that publication's September issue.

Hoopz is on the cover of "The Illest Men's Magazine Ever."

King has released the image that will grace its October issue, featuring Hoopz from I Love Money.

That article has yet to surface, but its the teaser on the King website promises that Hoopz “mashes out on the press, addresses rumors and talks real love” in the article. Color us intrigued.

The Girls Next Door might be undergoing a face lift soon.

First, there were reports that Hugh Hefner has found a new girlfriend in model Dasha Astafieva.

Now, In Touch Weekly says that Kendra Wilkinson might be moving out of the Playboy Mansion after the fifth season wraps - and onto her own series!

Can Kendra Wilkinson carry her own reality show? We might find out soon.

An insider told the tablid that "Kendra Wilkinson has been offered her own reality show about starting her life over again when she moves out of the Playboy Mansion. Hugh Hefner knows her time is coming."

Does this mean Astafieva would take Kendra's place? What will become of Holly and Bridget? Stay tuned for more information as it comes our way.

Right now on Big Brother 10, there are two pretty strong alliances - Ollie-April-Jerry and Dan-Memphis-Keesha - with two free agents of sorts in Renny and Michelle roaming the house. It sets up an interesting dynamic.

We'll see how that dynamic evolves as last night may have sealed someone's fate if the power of veto was not used.

April Dowling is nominated (along with Jerry MacDonald), and she's sad. Or, maybe she's just acting. Or, maybe she really is sad but also wants the other houseguests to know she's sad by kicking it up a notch (or 10).

The Power of Veto competition is a rare night version. The players for the competition are Renny, Jerry, April, Keesha, Dan and Ollie.

The continuing adventures of Lauren Conrad and company took a modest dip in the ratings Monday night with "We'll Never Be Friends" as the fourth season premiere of The Hills fell in the Nielsens.

The half-hour fourth season debut of MTV’s quasi-reality-soap-thing was down 9 percent in its key 12-to-34 demographic (2.1 million) and down 5 percent among total viewers (3.5 million) compared to its debut last year.

If you compare it only to the 10 p.m. episode last year, The Hills is still down, albeit slightly less than indicated above.

Check that against the giant 40 percent ratings jump between the premieres of Season 2 and Season 3 and you have what some believe could be an overall leveling off of The Hills popularity.

The coming weeks will provide a better test, as the Olympics have been (of course) dominating everything. But peeps may just be sick of Heidi Montag (above). No idea why that would be ...

With last night's premiere of The Hills, roommate tension and drama between Audrina Patridge and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth escalated to new heights.

Project Runway champion Christian Siriano will launch a maternity wear line in 2009. Expect it to be fierce.

Siriano and his friends, founders of Moody Mamas maternity clothes, Marta Abrams and Elise Rosemarin, have joined forces on a collection called Fierce for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano.

It looks to be an exciting week ahead for Siriano.His regular runway line will premiere at New York’s fashion week on Sept. 11.
