Jason Mesnick Speaks on The Bachelor Opportunity

Jason Mesnick, the new star of The Bachelor, admits he hasn't been on a date since DeAnna Pappas spurned him on The Bachelorette.

"I haven't dated at all since DeAnna," he says. "I wanted to give myself time to heal so that when I got out there again I'd be ready to give whoever I am with the respect and attention she deserves."

But Mesnick, the 32-year-old single dad from Seattle, is looking forward to the opportunity to find love on the 13th season of The Bachelor:

"I am ready. I am ready and open to giving these girls everything I can to find the one that is right for me. All I am missing, really, is someone to share my life with," he said.

"There's no guarantee but 25 girls? It's a real opportunity to find just one."

Jason Mesnick says he was approached to do The Bachelor at the "After the Final Rose Special" by the show's producers.

"All I could think was, 'Oh man, I am so excited' - mostly because really I am just the most regular guy you could ever come across and for this to be happening to me is unbelievable," he said.

"It just leaves me completely speechless."

Ray J Lands New Reality Show

Great news for sex tape and talentless hip hop artist fans:

Ray is getting his own reality show!

VH1 has tapped the ex-amateur porn partner of Kim Kardashian for a Bachelor-like series. Here's how the network made the announcement:

He may be one of the most infamous playboys in hip-hop, but he still hopes to find that special woman he can settle down with … and VH1 is going to help! The “Sexy Can I” singer is getting his own dating show in 2009, and producers are already looking for smart, attractive women over 21 who think they can handle the drama of celebrity life.

Sorry, Jason Mesnick. There's a new Bachelor in town!

America's Next Top Model Producer Aims to Redefine Beauty

Due to all the attention America's Next Top Model has alread received for including Isis Tsunami - the show's first-ever transgender contestant - on its 11th season's cast, you could say the decision has already paid off.

But executive producer Ken Mok says he has a grander goal in mind with Isis.

"We want to redefine what beauty is," Mok told ABC News. "You can be tall, you can be short, you can be plus size, you can be transgender; you don't have to be what the modeling industry says you have to be. That was one of Tyra's original missions."

Isis

As for casting Isis, Mok said the show wasn't aiming to break down any barries.

"She participated in the shoot and we didn't know anything about her. But when we started reviewing the photos, the girl that kept popping out of the background was Isis. She really knew what she was doing. Tyra wanted to know who she was. It was clear she really had a passion for modeling. So when it came to casting this season, we said, 'Why don't we find that girl?'"

America's Next Top Model premieres September 3.

Khloe Kardashian Rumored for Celebrity Apprentice

Those krazy Kardashians and their reality TV resumes.

Now, Khloe is set to be joining Celebrity Apprentice, according to The New York Post.

Khloe

  • Petra Nemcova have been floated as possible contestants.

Celebrity Apprentice begins filming this fall and is scheduled to premiere in January on NBC.

DeAnna Pappas Happy For Jason Mesnick

The Bachelorette star Deanna Pappas – with her new fiance Jesse Csincsak by her side – proclaimed that her second choice, Jason Mesnick, will make the "perfect catch" when he gets a second shot at reality TV love.

Pappas and Csincsak told the Yo on E! radio show that the new star of The Bachelor would make a wonderful husband.

As for the new crew of ladies who will vie for his attention, DeAnna Pappas stated: "He needs... a woman who is down to earth and doesn't care about all the business going around, because Jason's normal."

Jason Mesnick lost out on DeAnna Pappas on the finale of The Bachelorette. But the tables will soon be turned as he will star on The Bachelor!

Also, since Jason Mesnick has a little boy, three-year-old Ty, Pappas says the new bachelorettes better love kids.

"He's the most important thing in Jason's life," she says.

The 13th season of the The Bachelor begins in January 2009.

Dr. Drew's Rehab Center Under Investigation

This place sounds more dysfunctional than the Big Brother house!

Three adult patients died unexpectedly and a teenage patient was raped after entering a Pasadena psychiatric hospital known for its association with Drew Pinsky, star of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, the L.A. Times reports.

The incidents occurred in the last five months at Aurora Las Encinas Hospital, which advertises itself as a "world-renowned" haven where patients with acute mental illness and substance abuse problems can recover.

It is a favored destination for rock stars, actors and more.

Dr. Drew Pinsky

Drew Pinsky, who co-hosts the syndicated radio show Loveline and anchors the VH1 reality TV series Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, is co-medical director of the chemical dependency department at the hospital.

He has said he played no direct role in any patients' care.

Experts say it is rare to see so many patients at a psychiatric hospital die or be harmed in such a short period. California health inspectors have investigated and faulted the hospital in the first two deaths.

Big Brother Recap, Spoilers: Eviction and HoH Results

Little happens in the Big Brother Live Eviction episodes.

You have highlights from the last few days, mostly involving the nominees lobbying to stay. There is a lot of Julie Chen talking. Yawn.

Finally, there's the live vote, but if you watch Big Brother to begin with, you generally have a good idea of how it's gonna play out.

April Dowling

Anyway, Ollie and April tried to convince Michelle to give them their vote.  Michelle isn't vehemently opposed, as she wants Jerry gone.

Ollie and April really want Michelle to talk to Dan. Instead, Ollie speaks with Dan (the favorite in our eyes), but Dan isn't convinced.

Port of Call: Whitney Lands in New Career

The Hills' Whitney Port - known mostly as the BFF and co-worker of Lauren Conrad - is continuing to make her ascent in the fashion world.

According to Fashioinista, the 23-year-old Whitney Port, an aspiring designer, is quitting People’s Revolution to do in-house PR elsewhere.

Port of Call

Whitney Port is said to be working for Diane Von Furstenberg.

The DVF offices say they “can’t confirm” anything. And there’s no word on whether Lauren Conrad - who worked with/uder Whitney at Teen Vogue and People's Revolution - will follow in Port's footsteps yet again.

This will all be shown on Season 4 of The Hills. Can't wait!

New York Goes to Hollywood: Welcome, Sister Patterson!

On the next episode of New York Goes to Hollywood, a certain insane mother stops by.

That's right, Sister Patterson - aka the woman that spawned Tiffany Pollard - will appear on the series. There's really way of predicting what will go down with the Sister around, so let's just take a look at this video preview:

Round One to David Archuleta!

In November, on a date not yet specified, both David Archuleta and David Cook will release their debut albums. That's when we'll really know which American Idol contestant is most popular.

For now, though, the runner-up has bragging rights over the winner.

According to E!, Archuleta's first single, "Crush," debuted in second place on the Hot 100 singles chart, overshadowing Cook's No. 3 bow in June with "The Time of My Life."

David and David

Archuleta is the first American Idol runner-up to have a better showing than the champion in head-to-head single competition since Clay Aiken outsold Ruben Studdard in 2003. For most, Aiken remains the real winner from that season.

"Crush" is the highest-debuting song by an American Idol contestant that was never performed on the show. Impressive. It joins joining Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" as the only other non-debut single from an American Idol to chart at No. 2.
