With yet another season of The Amazing Race on the way, host Phil Keoghan recently spoke on the challenges facing the long-running reality series. Here are some of his thoughts on the topic:
On keeping it fresh:
"We're going to new countries, working with new people, and when they get caught up in the enthusiasm of The Amazing Race, it keeps it fresh for all of us. Their enthusiasm reminds us that we're working on something incredibly special. They bring something to it themselves because they're looking at it from a totally different perspective."
On the rigors of production:
"People in the industry know what it's like to get 30 to 40 cameras through customs and signing equipment in and out - every bit down to the smallest microphone has to be documented in and out of countries. They understand that taking one trip to a country is something, but if you're doing it every other day and they have to negotiate in and out of airports every single leg, lights, tripods, microphones, that have to make it. The show has to go on."

Joey Kovar left The Real World: Hollywood house this week. It was the first time a cast member exited from the series for the sake of his personal well-being.
The decision came on the heels of a stint in rehab, followed by a return to a hard-partying home Kovar knew would be no good for him.
The reality TV star later opened up to Us Weekly about the realization that his addiction to drugs came from his childhood and his parents' problems.
"I remember being young and I always used to see my dad beat the crap out of my mom because he was a raging alcoholic, like the worst that you can be," Kovar said, adding that his parents both used cocaine and:
"Now that I've done coke, I know that that's what they were doing. Basically that's where [my addiction] stems from."
Joey Kovar had to get far away from the partying ways of The Real World.
The former Real World house mate said he had his first beer when he was 16, used hard alcohol at 18 and turned to steroids at 19 with the hopes of becoming a professional wrestler.
The steroid use lead to cocaine.
"You feel like a bus could hit you and you're not gonna die, so I was like 'you know what, 'I'll do [coke], I won't get hooked, I won't get addicted,'" Kovar said.
The Bachelor star Matt Grant is no longer living with fiancée Shayne Lamas, though the British hunk insists that all is well with the two.
The couple have co-habitated at Shayne Lamas' Century City, Calif., place since The Bachelor Season 12 ended with the two getting engaged.
But Matt Grant moved because the two "need space to grow."
"I had to get my own life out here (in L.A.)... Get my career and friends and have my own circle. That's important in a relationship. That you are not entirely on top of someone."
The couple has been dogged by rumors of discord since their TV engagement, however, Matt Grant says that they are doing well overall.
This will give him more time for guys' nights out with Andy Baldwin, too, so really, everybody wins.
The fifth season of Project Runway will debut on July 16. For its final edition on Bravo, the reality sensation will begin an hour earlier than usual, at 9 p.m.
No reason has been given for the time slot change, as the series will now air opposite summer's top-rated reality show, So You Think You Can Dance.

We know often write about Bret Michaels and Ambre Lake. But we're just so amazed these two are still together!
The Rock of Love star recently talked about the woman that won his show, and his heart.
"Ambre... loves my lifestyle. She's into me. She loves music. She's a mature woman," Michaels said. "Before the reunion show for the second season, we'd been keeping in touch despite what the rules said. We weren't supposed to have contact until the show was over to keep the outcome a secret, but she came to a show, we had been talking."

Following her victory on Top Chef last night, Stephanie Izard sat down with People Magazine for an interview:
How does it feel to be the first female Top Chef winner?
It definitely makes me feel great to be the first female [winner]. Women are always struggling a little bit in this industry. I never look at myself as either a male or a female chef. I just think it's about who the best chef is. But at the end of the day, I know women have a tough time in the industry. There's just a lot of guys we have to push around. [Laughs.]

A lot of viewers were disgruntled that Lisa was in the final three. What was it like working with her in the finale?
Lisa came down to Puerto Rico as a new and improved Lisa. She didn't just get her hair cut. She came down ready to cook â" and was being very positive. The nice thing about Lisa is [that] she does have a lot of confidence, and she was being really calm. I don't know if it's that Puerto Rican air that just made her super chill, but she definitely was the best version of Lisa that we've seen all season.
Former star of The Bachelor Andrew Firestone has revealed that he'll be marrying fiancee Ivana Bozilovic next month in Santa Ynez, Calif.
"Sometimes you get hurt before you actually make it right," the heir to the Firestone tire fortune told Us Weekly.
"She makes me a better person," he says of his 30-year-old model/actress wife-to-be. "Never before have I been so gushy."

Andrew Firestone, 32, says he was "crushed" when his 2003 engagement to Bachelor finalist Jen Schefft unraveled.
