Ruby Gettinger: A 500-Pound Reality Star
A 500-pound woman will be the focus of a new Style Network reality show premiering this fall.
Ruby will follow Savannah, Georgia resident Ruby Gettinger over nine episodes, as she struggles to navigate through life and to lose weight.
Gettinger is a close friend of consulting executive producer Brittany Daniel, who said about her pal:
"Ruby really wants to inspire people. She's so entertaining and hysterical, so it's going to be an inspirational but also a really fun show."

I heard about this on the radio today and then looked Ruby up online. Amazing story. Good for Style network doing a reality show that is true to life. My wife is 60 pounds overweight and can't wait to see how Ruby does it so she can follow. Thanks again to Style and Ruby

I can relate to this show .I have been up and down in my weight. You are opening yourself up to all kinds of freaks. You are GREAT to do so for us all. I hope to watch you do this. Maybe I can start believing.

I heard about this show on the radio. I came home and surf the net. I found so much information on Ruby. I was able to see a clip. I can relate to Ruby. She is so beautiful! I just watched the video and you have truly touched my heart! You made me laugh and you made me cry all in one sitting! You can do this! It is going to be very hard physically and emotionally. (I'm sure you know this already.) I would like to support you and watch your transformation! When will this be on TV? I'm just curious to know if this will be a weekly reality show? This will be an incredible show! I can tell just from seeing Ruby's personality that she is going to achieve her goals! She seems so likeable and funny and she also seems DETERMINED! I can't wait to see the show!!!
