Reality TV to Shine Eye on T.I.

We can live with farmers searching for wives on national television, or even the non-stop smattering of Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag photos.

We understand it's reality TV's world and we're just living in it.

But MTV might be going too far with its upcoming series. The network has ordered eight episodes of a show focused on rapper T.I., letting viewers watch him do community service prior to his one-year prison sentence, which he'll start serving in the spring of 2009.

Come on, MTV. You're really gonna reward an infamous lawbreaker with his own series?!?

The untitled series has already captured T.I.'s release from house arrest and will begin shooting full-time this summer, as he performs his 1,000 hours of community service.

T.I. was arrested last October after his bodyguard-turned-informant delivered three machine guns and two silencers to the hip-hop star, who is not allowed to own firearms because he was convicted of a felony in the late 1990s for selling crack cocaine.

Christian Siriano Quote of the Day

We aren't sure what promoted these words of wisdom from Project Runway winner Christian Siriano, but enjoy:

"If you think of heterosexuals, they have white-trash women and trailer parks, and we have drag queens and trannies. I don't know if I'm the one who can explain it. It's, like, drag queens are just there."

Amanda Lorber Featured in New York Times

For whatever reason, The New York Times recently ran a feature on The Paper's Amanda Lorber. Here's an excerpt from it:

Before the television cameras rolled, Amanda Lorber was just one of 5,500 students at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Fla. She was passionate about writing and musical theater, and possessed an intense desire to become the editor in chief of her school newspaper, The Circuit.

Around the same time that she achieved her journalistic ambition, in spring 2007, Ms. Lorber, now 17, was also chosen as a subject and the unexpected star of the MTV reality series The Paper.

She became a role model to some viewers, an inadvertent villain to others and a case study in the perils that a young person faces when she becomes a reality-television star before she is old enough to vote.

"If other students want to participate in something like this, they should think long and hard about it," Ms. Lorber said in a telephone interview.

Flavor Flav Proposes! Not to Thing 2!

David Cook asking out former American Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell was the most romantic news on our site for about five minutes.

Now, you gotta read about what went down on last night's Flavor of Love reunion show! Try to follow along...

Following the conclusion of this season, the woman who supposedly won and claimed Flavor Flav's heart for herself, Thing 2, hadn't been able to date her man for six months. They had to keep the victor and secret, of course.

So, after reuniting with Thing 2 on the reunion show, you'd have thought Flav and his love would tell everyone they were set to live happily ever after, right? Wrong.

"Out of all my shows that I've done, this moment right here is the hardest for me. This is my third season of Flavor Of Love and everything, you know what I mean, and I went through sixty-five women," Flavor Flav said, going on to explain that since the finale he had been spending a lot of time with his youngest son and his youngest son's mother.

"The best gift that a man can ever give a child is to love his mother, and you know, I do love his mom," Flavor Flav said, confusing the audience and letting Thing 2 to know that he was actually meant to be with someone else.

We assume this is more exciting to watch than it is to write about.

Laila Ali Wants Child to Be an Athlete

Laila Ali may have rose to (reality TV) fame thanks to Dancing with the Stars, but that doesn't mean she wants her impending child to be a dancer.

"I want him to be an athlete," Laila told OK!. "I did Dancing with the Stars, but my life doesn't revolve around it. I think that when I say athlete, I mean a serious athlete."

Ouch. That's quite the slam at professional dancers such as Mark Ballas, isn't it?

Perhaps Ali would prefer her offspring to end up on her current show, American Gladiators. Laila co-hosts the NBC revival of the 1990s series and can't dream up a more perfect gig for herself.

"It's a competitive show with a live audience that brings a lot of energy, and it's what I'm used to," she said. "It was perfect for me, and I'm having a really great time with [co-host] Hulk [Hogan]."

Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff: Fun in the Sun

Hey, if Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt can star in cheesy, staged shots for celebrity gossip photographers, why can't Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff do the same?

The couple obviously can, as the following photos prove. This pair, which fell in love on Dancing with the Stars, is taking advantage of the system to earn a few extra bucks. Good for them!
