Dancing With the Stars Recap: A Weird Night

It was an impressive evening of dancing - especially from Kristi, Shanon and Jason - but the crazies came out a bit, too.

Cristian de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke showed some serious skin (not that we're complaining on either account), Adam Carolla wore a mustache and Taylor attended a Medieval Times dinner theater. All in a night of Dancing with the Stars.

The Bachelor Episode Guide: Dancing, Tennis, Drama

On this week's episode of The Bachelor, the fourth of this exciting 12th season of the reality show, Matt is looking for a perfect match. As in tennis, people.

He also takes girls dancing. Matt Grant cannot dance. It's funny.

All told, there are nine women remaining, but only six of them will leave with roses from Matt Grant tonight. There's even a 2-on-1 date in which one will get sent home on the spot ... you can cut the tension with a knife in here.

Grant, Matt

How did our handsome and proper Englishman, Matt Grant, make his increasingly difficult decision and whittle down the field of women this week?

Did everyone's favorite gal Shayne Lamas make it? Or did she depart the way of Stacey Elza (a.k.a. spare panties girl) or more recently, Carri Perrier?

Find out in our episode guide to The Bachelor!

Project Runway: Moving to Lifetime

Going For a Ride Project Runway is moving. The Bravo sensation will become property of Lifetime for its sixth season.

Series producer The Weinstein Co. signed a five-year deal to switch networks; in return, Bravo owner NBC has filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Co. However, in a statement, the Weinsteins thanked NBC and Bravo for helping the show get to where it is today.

"[But] having Lifetime's unique cable reach will ensure that the show will continue to grow and expand in the years to come. Lifetime is one of the strongest cable networks in the industry, with great leadership and a true commitment to original programming," The Weinstein Co. said.

"We are very excited for the many new opportunities that will now be provided to Project Runway and its fans and look forward to premiering the sixth season in November 2008."

The sixth season of Project Runway will premiere on Lifetime in November.

Pamela Anderson Reality Show, Apocalypse Set for Summer

Pamela Anderson PhotoWe suppose we should give Pamela Anderson props for no longer attempting to act. After all, we did see Superhero Movie.

Still, the only time this Baywatch star should be on our TV is during her sex tape.

Instead, the large-breasted actress will appear in "observational documentary" series â€" tentatively titled Pamela â€" set to debut this summer on E!.

According to a network release:

"Viewers will get to know the real woman behind the famous breasts and follow Pam as she tries to juggle love, career and peace of mind. Going beyond the fame and fortune, this is Pam at her core, living her life with no regrets."

Fortunately, the series will feature only Anderson, not her children, which is a welcome contrast to another E! show, which stars Denise "I'm an awful person" Richards and her two daughters.

Let us know: Will you watch a reality show starring Pamela Anderson?

Lauren and Lauren Do Their Thing

Girls' night in? The Hills' Lauren Conrad was seen out shopping and picking out some flowers at Whole Foods Market in West Hollywood, along with a movie at Blockbuster on Sunday. With LC was her BFF and roommate, Lauren Bosworth.

Lauren C and Lauren B

  A pretty (and pretty casual) Lauren Conrad at the store. Her hit reality TV series, The Hills, returns with an all-new episode tonight at 10 p.m. on MTV!

The Hills Examined in The Boston Globe

Continuing its spring run, The Hills airs all-new episode tonight. The Boston Globe's Joanna Weiss recently took a look at this cultural phenomenon ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I still remember the first time I stumbled on The Hills, and how confused I was.
It couldn't be scripted, since the dialogue was simply awful and the cast members could barely deliver lines. But it couldn't be a reality TV show, because the scenes played out a little too perfectly. Cameras always happened to be rolling when the phone rang or the meaningful text message arrived.
It is, of course, a reality show, but a strangely innovative one.
Lauren Conrad and her friends in Los Angeles might replay scenes they've already lived through, or make carefully timed entrances into rooms so the cameras can get the right angle, but they never give a hint that they're being filmed.
The Hills, a coming-of-age follow-up to Laguna Beach, drops the pretense of the confessional and sense of manufactured conflict in favor of a new charade:
Pretending cameras aren't there.
Lauren and Whitney: Paris Bound!
The Hills' Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port.
Love it or hate it, reality TV or scripted drama, The Hills is an unmitigated MTV hit, and not just among America's 'tweens or the college crowd.
John McCain, who won an endorsement from Heidi Montag, told Time magazine he never misses the show, and it's hard to tell if he was kidding.
The first of the current eight-episode run of spring "bonus" installments of The Hills drew 4.8 million viewers, the show's highest ratings to date.
Reality TV Recaps: That's Amore, Rock of Love, Big Brother
A pair of absurd dating shows and a reality show mainstay graced television screens last night. Here's a look at what went down on each...
That's Amore: Domenico takes the two girls to Italy, but sadly, Ashley McNeely is left behind. Once they arrive at Domenico's village, the girls are a bit disillusioned to see that he lives in a tiny village out of a bad movie. -- Buddy TV
This is Amore
Rock of Love: The three girls returned to an empty house and were forced to do some cleaning because guests were arriving. Then the fateful moment when the doorbell rings occurred, it wasn't an ex of Bret's, though, the families came! -- Celebrity Cafe
Big Brother: After Adam won Head Of Household, he said he felt much more confident in his abilities with the power this time around. Natalie claimed yet again that she had a dream that Adam would win HOH, saying it's almost like God is talking to her. Well okay then.-- Reality TV Magazine
More on David Cook's Brother, Illness
David CookAs impressive as David Cook has been on American Idol, the fact that he's been able to perform at such a high level is even more amazing given the sad state of a family member:
David's older brother Adam Cook is battling cancer. The American Idol finalist hasn't spoken about the illness, out of respect for his brother. He also didn't want to sympathy votes.
Cook isn't the first Idol to compete while dealing with a personal crisis, as People Magazine reports.
"The week before we came up for the Top 24, my best friend passed away, and I was just like, 'I don't know if I can go out there,'" last year's champ Jordin Sparks said. "I went to the funeral and came back and then my uncle passed away â€" and then my grandma ... and so I had three deaths go on during the show.
"It's hard because you have to go out there and put this smile on your face," she added. "It's very exhausting, and it's very overwhelming and kind of gets to you. I mean I got sick a couple times, just because I was so tired and kept trying to do all this stuff and it was crazy."
We'd like to wish the best to David Cook and his brother.
Adriana Speaks on Step It Up And Dance Elimination
Adriana Falcon became the first dancer to be sent home by the judges on Bravo's newest reality show, Step It Up and Dance.
Adriana, Step It Up and DanceBelow, she speaks to BuddyTV about the experience:
What were some of your first impressions of some of the other dancers?
I realized, doing the show, that I make quick judgments about people. So, I had really strong opinions about a few. Let's see, I thought Oscar [Campisi] was a little bit standoffish, but I learned throughout the show that he's actually a great person.
A lot of the dancers from L.A. seemed to have really strong personalities, which I thought was a little bit different from the New York dancers. The New York dancers, myself included, had a little bit more of a chill vibe. You know, we didn't put it out there as much as I thought the L.A. people did.
And how do you think your dance abilities compared to those of the others?
I really respect everyone in the cast and what they brought, because everybody brought something really different. And so, I thought I did the same. My technique is strong and was on the show, and I thought I brought that. And I brought a little flavor as well.
You know, when you're in an environment like that, it's a competition. We didn't know what to expect, so it was a learning process. I think that my castmates are very talented and I think I stood strong up there with them.
