Mario Lopez Continues to Laugh Off Karina Smirnoff Rumors

As the rumors continue to swirl that Karina Smirnoff is dating Dancing with the Stars partner Mario, the professional's actual boyfriend continues to laugh at the notion.

"People make up crazy stuff," Mario Lopez told Us Weekly. "I thought it was funny... I know the nature of the business and people talk. It's funny because those rumors always tend come up during the season."

The Paper: A Scathing Critique

Amanda, The Paper The Paper premieres on MTV tonight.

According to respected industry publication, Variety, the network squanders a golden opportunity to actually illustrate what newspapers do; instead using Cypress Bay High's school paper, The Circuit, as the backdrop for an over-produced reality-based teen soap.

Here's what else the trade's review had to say about The Paper:

The premiere is less a window into the lives of aspiring journalists than Election with real kids, a handful of which vie for the editor-in-chief title. Tears ensue, but not much else that resembles a newspaper, except of course that the featured copy editor is an irritating nerd. (Wow, did that get by the desk?)

Amanda (pictured), the bespectacled said copy editor, is the arbitrarily designated narrator of the proceedings at this Florida school, though in doing so she says stilted things such as: "Procrastination is a foe that I have not met yet."

If that line wasn't written for her, she might have wanted to delay coming up with it.

A Recap of the Viva Hollywood Series Premiere

Viva Hollywood premiered on VH1 last night - and it may be our new favorite reality show. Sorry, Flavor of Love.

The series pits hopefu, Spanish-language soap opera stars against one another. And at the end of every show, the two nominated for elimination actually film a death scene, at the end of which the judges tell the booted contestant that he or she is "muerta."

It's terrific stuff. Check it out now at our Viva Hollywood series premiere recap.

Ambre Lake Wins Rock of Love

Overcoming an emotional wreck of a former stripper in Daisy de la Hoya, Ambre Lake vanquished all other desperate women last night and won the second season of Rock of Love.

Why did Bret Michaels choose Ambre over Daisy?

"She is perfect for me," he said. "She is not only smart and confident and funny, but she's also unbelievably hot."

That sums it up. Look for Ambre and Bret to pretend to be together until he signs up for Rock of Love 3 live happily ever after.

It was an emotional roller coaster for Ambre Lake. But the television host now gets to worry about STDs for the rest of her life alongside Bret Michaels.

Lauren Conrad Keeps Chloe Closest

Who needs backstabbing friends like Heidi Montag when you have a new puppy? 'Nuff said. While out and about, the The Hills' Lauren Conrad keeps her new pup, Chloe, close with a gold charm necklace engraved with her name.

She's a cutie, this one. Check out these cute photos of Lauren Conrad wearing this in People magazine's style section. We'll look for it on The Hills later!

A Preview of The Real World: Hollywood

The Real World: Hollywood marks this reality show's 20th season, making our staff feel very, very old.

On top of the usual sex and drunken antics this season, the cast will be made up of aspiring musicians, actors and others wishing to make it big in Tinseltown.

"On this 20th anniversary season we wanted to get back a little to the show's origins by casting people who were pursuing dreams of careers in the entertainment business," said Jon Murray, Chairman and President of Bunim-Murray Productions.

The Real World: Hollywood

James Alsop Speaks on Stepping It Up and Dancing

james-interview.jpg James Alsop was eliminated this week on Step It Up and Dance. Our pals at BuddyTV asked the dancer about his experience on Bravo's latest reality competition:

What were your first impressions of the other dancers when you first met them?
When I first met the other dancers, I kind of was sizing them up.  I was like, "Oh, the way so-and-so was dressed, this is probably what kind of dance they do."  But I wasn't really seeing it as a competition.  I was just trying to find the weakest link, I guess. to see who can be preyed on first.

What advice would you give to other aspiring dancers?

Do not let this industry beat you down.  I've been here for a year and a half, almost two years, and I still haven't had grand success, but that's because I'm still putting in my time.  You have to put in your time.  Like, the dancers who really book live in Los Angeles for like four to five years and that's when they start to get recognized.

So just be patient and make sure you're ready for all aspects of it, the horrible aspects, the great aspects, the in-between aspects.  You have to be focused and not let it get you down.  It's such a mental game.  But just be ready.

Heidi Montag Debuts Fashion Line

Heidi Montag debuted her fashion line, Heidiwood, on Friday.

At the Hollywood fashion show, Heidi's models hit the catwalk as music from her upcoming, as-yet-untitled pop album blared and Spencer Pratt cheered her on.

Here's a picture of Heidi Montag at her big night ...

America's Next Top Model: Too Much Nudity?

566_americas_next_top_model_468.jpg As viewers know, America's Next Top Model has featured numerous sexy photo shoots over the last 10 seasons. But did one on March 26 airing cross the line?

Yes, according to the Parents Television Council.

In that episode episode, Anya won a prize after participating in a contest judged by Tyra Banks. Her reward? A one-on-one photo shoot with judge Nigel Barker -  but Anya had to be completely naked for the shoot.

"It is irresponsible for The CW Network to air full frontal nudity on the public airwaves at 8 p.m., and based upon our analysis of the broadcast in question we believe this has crossed the legal threshold for broadcast indecency," PTC President Tim Winter in a statement.

"This episode portrays a photo shoot where the model is entirely naked; and the nudity includes the model's pubic region in full view, albeit slightly blurred."

Aside from airing during the family hour of 8-9 p.m., the nude photo shoot scene lasted more than a minute and the PTC felt it was gratuitous and "intended to tittilate."

Do you agree with these charges?

Michael Johns: No One is Safe

Don't worry, ousted American Idol finalist Michael Johns isn't referring to national security or anything.

But while he seemed to be taking his shocking elimination in stride earlier today, Johns said it should serve as a warning to all the viewers who were just as surprised as he was when last night's results were revealed.

"Once again, it shows you no one's safe," he said. "The public can think week-to-week, 'Oh, they did a good performance. They're coming off a good two or three week run. They'll be through. I'm going to vote for someone else who maybe didn't have as good a night.' But you've just got to vote for your favorite."

Goodbye, Michael Johns
