Lauren Conrad turned up inside the Ed Sullivan Theater on Tuesday, where The Hills star and aspiring fashion designer chatted up David Letterman.

The pair talked about what Lauren Conrad was like as a child.

LC said: "Our house was in Orange County. The back was a huge canyon, and I was a really big tomboy when I was little. I'd always go hiking and I had a rock collection. And I'd come back up and... you get ticks! They're gross!"

Lauren Conrad also revealed that she is taking a computer class at the FIDM with none other than Stephanie Pratt! Drama! David Letterman also referred to the other Pratt - Spencer - as a new, which was a pretty funny moment.

It should come as no shock that professional ice skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi is a tremendous ballroom dancer.

But her opening night performance with partner Mark Ballas may have ended season six of Dancing with the Stars just as it begun. It was mighty impressive.

Aside from heavy favorite David Archuleta, not a single American Idol finalist earned praise from all three judges last night.

Archuleta, however, bounced back from forgetting the lyrics to his Beatles song last week by belting out a rendition of "The Long and Winding Road" that was called a "master class" by Simon Cowell. Dude brought the hotness, praised Randy Jackson!

As for the rest of the Idols, only David Cook and Carly Smithson could muster any sort of positive reaction from the panel.

Soon after the men completed their opening round on Dancing with the Stars, a few reacted to their performances.

"I got to get my feet working," said Mario, a perfectionist who practiced on his own when his pro partner, Karina Smirnoff, was out for four days having surgery for a herniated disk in her neck.

The largest contestant, meanwhile, said his puppies were barking.

"My feet hurt all the time," said Penn Jillette, who wears specially constructed dance boots to support his feet and ankles. "Essentially, I'm wearing casts on my feet. The amount of pain in my feet right now is breathtaking. But it was a little more fun than I expected. You don't want to have fun during a comedy show, that's a big mistake. Or during a magic show. Big mistake.

You want to look back and say that you accomplished something. But here, in the moment, there was a little bit of fun and I've never experienced that before during a performance."

"I thought the judges were too harsh with us," said Julianne Hough, who champions the work ethic of her star, Adam Carolla. (Alas, the duo drew the lowest score of the night, 15 out of 30.) "I don't think he was the worst one out there, by far."

At a party held on Los Angeles for former cast members of The Real World, a pair of often-scantily clad females showed up, looking rough... but fully dressed!

Last night on The Bachelor, Matt Grant narrowed the sexy field of suitors down to 15, and while that's still too many women us to describe any of them as clear favorites, one of them clearly caught the British financier's eye.

A hot blonde introduced as Shayne is actually Shayne Lamas - the daughter of actor and general badass Lorenzo Lamas! Who knew? Probably ABC. Still.

You'll see Fabian Sanchez in action tonight for the first time on Dancing with the Stars, as the professional makes his show debut alongside Marlee Matlin.

Here's a bit of background on the new Dancing hunk:

Sanchez was working at the Ryan's Steakhouse in Birmingham, Alabama in 1992 when Al King, the area developer for the Fred Astaire Dance Studios, walked into the restaurant. King said Fabian was "posing like a matador" behind the counter and instantly saw potential in this pupil.

King invited Fabian to apply to the Fred Astaire training program. Sanchez - who dreamed of attending college and playing pro soccer one day - agreed. He assumed this would serve as a temporary summer job.

Now, of course, the gig has lasted fifteen years. Fabian and wife Jacqueline are now the owners of the Birmingham studio. He is also a member of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios National Dance Board.

Season six of Dancing with the Stars kicked off last night. But it felt eerily familiar to a past season, as Karina Smirnoff led the way alongside a partner named Mario.

This time, however, it's the R&B singer, not the former Saved by the Bell beefcake. And Karina and Mario weren't the only pair who danced to impress.
