DeAnna Pappas is The Bachelorette!

After losing out on reality TV love on the last season of The Bachelor, the lovely DeAnna Pappas is ready for another go at it.

A real estate agent from Neunan, Ga., DeAnna will headline the next season of The Bachelorette, which will air this summer.

Maybe ABC saw our moving tribute to DeAnna Pappas!

The 26-year-old endured a painful, last-minute rejection by Brad Womack on the controversial Bachelor season finale last November.

He had even flown her father in and implied he was going to pick her, but Womack rejected Pappas, as well as her adversary, Jenni Croft.

Sickening. But that’s water under the bridge now. All we have to say is this: Best. Bachelorette. Ever. Welcome back, DeAnna Pappas!

Sarah Jessica Parker to Produce a Reality Show

sarah_parker_240x3201.jpg Sarah Jessica Parker hopes to do for artists what Project Runway has done for designers: make them cutthroat.

Parker’s production company, Pretty Matches, is joining forces with Magical Elves, the producers of Runway and Top Chef, for a new, as-yet untitled reality series that will pit 12 aspiring artists against each other for the chance to win a gallery show, a cash prize and a sponsored national tour.

Each episode will have hopeful contestants focusing on a specific discipline, such as sculpting, painting or photography. Their efforts will then be critiqued by their on-screen rivals, as well as appraised by a panel of top art world figures.

For now, of course, the actress is finishing up filming for Sex and the City: The Movie.

Celebrity Apprentice Renewed for Second Season

NBC has renewed The Celebrity Apprentice for a second season. Next year’s edition will premiere in January 2009.

“This revved up installment of The Apprentice has been a game changer for the series,” said NBC executive Craig Plestis. “As the rest of this season unfolds, you just keep watching, these episodes have been more thrilling than any season before…

We are blown away by the casts drive, energy, and passion to not only play the game but also to raise a lot of money and awareness for important causes. There’s no other show like it to prove your business brain and we are already getting calls from high-profile celebrities who want to challenge themselves in Season 2.”

The Celebrity Apprentice’s currently airing first installment has averaged 9.3 million total viewers and a 3.9/10 rating/share in the Adults 18-49 demographic in its first four broadcasts.

“Millions of viewers have spoken and made Celebrity Apprentice the No. 1 show on Thursday nights so far this year,” said Donald Trump, failing to thank the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike for helping the show achieve that honor, of course.

Tyra Banks Prepares New Fashion Show

A Tyra Banks Pic America’s Next Top Model is not enough for Tyra Banks and Ken Mok.

The duo behind that series has received an eight-episode order for a new show and will begin production in April for a launch in late spring or summer. The show, which the CW unofficially describes as The Devil Wears Prada meets The Assistant, is eyed as a potential companion piece for America’s Next Top Model.

“It is a competition show about aspiring assistants looking to become assistant editors at a fashion magazine,” Mok said. “At the same time they’re trying to prove themselves as aspiring fashionistas, that they have a sense of style and savvyness, all the things to make it in the fashion world.”

In each episode, the contestants will compete in a pair of challenges, an individual competition and a team competition, in which each squad will submit a page for “The Book,” a mock edition of the magazine.

The losing team’s page will end up in the trash, while one of its team members will be eliminated. The page from the other team will be included in “The Book.” The winner of the competition will land a job in the fashion industry.
