Why did Bettina Bell risk heartbreak and humiliation on The Bachelor? In part because she is childhood pals with Tessa Horst, who won the heart of last season's Bachelor, Andy Baldwin, on the reality dating series.

"I don't know if I would have done it if it weren't for her," Bettina Bell, 27, now a real estate agent in Hermosa Beach, Calif., told the Washington Post.

The tall blonde was among the final three women competing for a proposal from Texan Brad Womack (he started with 25) until he eliminated her last week; her exit was one of the most dignified ever on a show known for weepy hysterics.

"What I was feeling was so good," Bettina Bell told Brad Womack as she was given the boot, but "... you aren't right for me and obviously vice versa."

Seems that - brace yourself - there's not a lot of reality in reality TV.

"You see us on a date, but we have five producers standing around," Bettina Bell said. The intimacy-on-camera? As yucky as you'd expect. "The producers say, 'If you give us a kiss on camera, then we'll leave.'"

Although sometimes, she says, "you do get lost in the moment."

And now Bettina Bell wonders how real the emotions were.

On air, she claimed to be "completely falling in love." But she told the Post that "it was more of a crush, magnified by the fact that there are 24 other women who are digging the guy you dig. So it's all blown out of proportion... You're in this dreamland, and all of a sudden you come to reality again."

Indeed, few couples from The Bachelor endure. And by few we mean none. Tessa Horst and Andy Baldwin's TV engagement is currently on hold.

Bell's only regret: bringing a TV crew into her parents' home in D.C., at which point her skeptical dad was cast as a killjoy. But the gig did get her name out there to a lot of folks looking to buy in Hermosa Beach.

"Business has never been busier," Bettina says.

Was is the fart?

We may never know for sure, but Tiffany Pollard eliminated Wolf from I Love New York 2 last night, soon after the bachelor passed gas loudly while on a date with her.

"Wolf, I just think you're a really nice, sweet, country bumpkin who never fit into the exciting life of Hollywood," Pollard said Wolf before assuring him the two will grab some ribs together sometime.

But this didn't pacify Wolf very much.

"Man I can't believe New York dismissed me tonight!" he said, following his ouster.  "She's missing out on a lot... and I do mean a lot."

"Wolf, I just think you're a really nice, sweet, country bumpkin who never fit into the exciting life of Hollywood, "said New York to Wolf before assuring him the two will grab some ribs together sometime.

The CW has announced a premiere date for the network's upcoming reality competition called Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants.

The series, which pits mother-daughter teams against each other in a beauty pageant, is set to debut on Wednesday, December 12 at 9 p.m., following the season finale of America's Next Top Model.

Subsequent episodes of Crowned will then air at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays, taking over Top Model, with the eighth and finale episode airing on January 30.

Last night on The Hills, the main subject matter was - take a guess here - the ol' Lauren Conrad sex tape rumors. Amazing! Who would have imagined!?

This time, though, Lauren and Heidi finally had it out face to face at a Declare Yourself event and later at LC's apartment - where Heidi used to live.

Heidi sort of apologized - without really saying if Spencer Pratt was involved or not - while Lauren told Heidi she's willing to forgive her... and forget her.

Oh, snap. Meanwhile, the now broken-up Justin Brescia (a.k.a. Justin-Bobby) and Audrina Patridge were having problems at the same time Audrina's career at Epic Records is finally getting off the ground. Good for Audrina! Bad for J-Bobby!

The Women Tell All. The Bachelor's penultimate episode was, as usual, the special in which the rejected babes go off on Brad Womack. And then some.

Host Chris Harrison took us back and relived some of the best moments this season of The Bachelor with the defeated ladies, some of whom were put in the hot seat while others played it cool. The women then placed their bets on whether Jenni Croft or DeAnna Pappas would win Brad Womack's heart on next week's finale.

There may be a five contestants remaining on Dancing with the Stars, but after last night, it's clear there's really just two:

Melanie Brown continues to perform well, earning a 29 for her second dance this week. But Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough Quickstepped their way to a perfect score of 30 in one of the season's better routines.

The pair of celebrities most in trouble? Marie Osmond, who may receive the sympathy vote after her dad's death; and Cameron Mathison. All My Children fans are gonna need to come out in force to keep their man on now.

Padma Lakshmi is a busy lady.

But she recently found time in her schedule to discuss her most recent book, Tangy Tart Hot and Sweet, along with the latest season of Top Chef.

"Yes, we just wrapped [taping for season 4] up last week in Chicago. It went really well and I ate like a pig. Now I'm going to have to exercise," Lakshmi said.

And how did it go?

"It's all amazing. The fact that this show just keeps getting more popular and it's attracting a higher caliber of chefs is what impresses me. And the food is outstanding."

Lakshmi also responded to criticism that she's isn't actually behind all of the content of her books. Setting the record straight, she said:

"You know, I get [questioned about that] all the time, and yes, absolutely, this book is 100 percent me. I wrote every single word and the text for every recipe. It was two years in the making and a labor of love for me. My fingerprints are on every aspect of the book, and it's more of me than anything in my life."

Lacey Conner has turned her villainous role on Rock of Love into a decent music career.

In fact, a song by the punk rocker appeared in a recent movie, one directed by Oliver Stone. She recently wrote about it on her blog:

"Some of you have been hearing about my pop music project that I've been working on, simply called ‘Lacey Conner'. YES...I like pop music too. NO...that doesn't meaning I'm selling out, you f***s. I genuinely like pop music a lot!...Yes, I can be dark and aggressive (musically speaking), and yes I can be fun and poppy too...

My song "This Thing Called Love" that was written for my pop music project is featured in a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE that is directed by OLIVER STONE!...The film is called "Reservation Road" and features Joaquin Phoenix and Jennifer Connelly."

It's about time. The Hills' Audrina Patridge told motorcycle-riding beau Justin "Bobby" Brescia that he can hit the road - for good.

Audrina Patridge said it took a public blowout at the hot Hollywood club Opera for her to realize that Justin Brescia was not Mr. Right.

Audrina Patridge: Single again and loving it.

"I caught him doing something he shouldn't have been doing and it was just the last straw," Audrina says of their October 16 fight. "I don't feel like he's giving at all. I'm always there for him no matter what, and sometimes I don't feel like it's mutual."

Guess all our anti-boyfriend frustrations on The Hills will now have to be focused on Spencer Pratt, the "fiance" of Heidi Montag.

Megan Hauserman, winner of the third Beauty and the Geek, is one of "The Sexiest Women of Reality TV."
