Hugh Hefner and Kendra Wilkinson: Tension at the Mansion?
After reading the June issue of Elle, which featured an interview with The Girls Next Door, Kendra Wilkinson was reportedly furious after she saw that writer Daphne Merkin didn't sugarcoat the article.
Page Six reports:
Wilkinson was hurt that she was described as "giving off a palpable air of anxiety." Merkin also quoted Wilkinson as saying her fake breasts were "my best investment" and said the blonde referred constantly to her "slight acne."
"I'm very insecure right now about my face," Wilkinson told Merkin. "I get scared with Hef looking at me at the mansion and maybe thinking I'm ugly." Merkin also mentions Wilkinson's "fleeting attention span," her "dazed personality and limited vocabulary" and quotes Hefner describing Wilkinson's "distinctly unintellectual charm" by mockingly saying, "Books? What books?"
On an appearance on Larry King Live, Hefner promised to defend Kendra's honor. But the Playboy owner didn't exactly follow through. Instead, he wrote the following letter:
I just finished reading your article ... and think it's the best, most perceptive piece on the show to date...I hope you get a chance to do a longer story for the New York Times or The New Yorker.

Well I think that merkins perception is 100% accurate! My 7 year old is much smarter than kendra. Not to mention that her vocabulary is 10 times that of kendra's. And even without her "slight acne" (which by the way is an understatement) she should feel insecure. She is grouped in with holly and bridgette! Sorry but everytime I see. Miss "thugish wannabe" kendra the first thing that comes to mind is "oh ok so that's what white trash is" and if she is so worried about her face someone might want to let her know that ppping in her big ugly grill doesn't exactly help an already struggling face!! And that coattail rider really needs all of the help she can get! Oh and she might want to try standing far away from holly. Holly exudes beauty, poise, and class. All of which kendra has none of!!

Amanda, I am glad you wrote your article twice, considering you noticed that you spelled "THUGGISH" "thuGish".
I love Kendra. I am 18 and most girls i know are very similar to Kendra. And don't try to say we are uneducated, cause I had a 4.4 (weighted) GPA and a 26 on the ACT. Stop judging people and leave people who embrace ethnic groups the fuck alone. American is a melting pot, and if someone is interested in the black culture, then thats their business. I am a mixed girl, so don't fuck with me about someone "acting black" but "being white".

I too am an 18 year old girl, and I love Kendra too. I think she is a really great person to look up too- she shows that you can be beautiful and still have flaws. Yeah she isn't perfect but who is? I think most people write shit about her because they are jealous.

Come on Amanda back of Kendra of course you cant compare her to hooly and bridget shes only what 21 yrs old,everyone has acne, wake up and smell the coffee its reality tv, and in reality who cares about covering up when there at home, give her a break at least shes got some personality, and shes not all wow, omg, like bridget.
