Shouldn't he have SOME kind of background established by now? Can any of the fans of The Hills explain why after the 1st &/or 2nd season of the show, Heidi did not simply watch the previous episodes to determine whether or not Spencer was lying to her? Is the timing such that she was unable to do this?
As for Lauren, who I like, she has little room to talk, because Jason's insincerity was just as obvious as Spencer's. I have never once witnessed Jason or Spencer engaged in a semi-intelligent conversation. What do these people fall in love with? I understand lust & all, but call it what it is. I keep searching to see what depth any of these characters have when they go on their dates. The dinners & other dates they share seem to occur in silence or in shallow banter consisting of 4 word sentences. They are not even asking each other about political views, views on society, views on their jobs, views about anything. I know our generation has more to talk about than what I see in these shows.

Finally someone who sees the show like I do! I try to figure out all the time what these couples talk about that's real and has substance. Then I try to guess what they fell in love with other than the idea of love. I think it is because of the world of wealth they grew up in or around. I am 19 years old and I am not a genius, but my discussions on my dates are a heck of a lot better than what these people come up with. If I even thought I liked any one of these guys, going on a date with them would have cured me of that fantasy. The lack of comments would have bored me to tears. Do these people even know that we are at war? (by "we" I mean the US not California) (lol).
